- I got the PC version because I thought it would have less input lag than Switch, the only other platform I own. From my own testing, with VSync off the input lag is acceptable. It's greater than original Saturn hardware but not enough to cause issues for anyone. However, I had neglected to check this setting when I recorded this run, and it was enabled. With VSync on, input lag jumps to at least 4 frames-still probably tolerable for most people and not enough that it impeded my speedrun, but I wouldn't recommend turning it on under any circumstances. The other new features of S-Tribute are nice-I like the quick stage select option and the hidden in-game options to adjust lives and bomb stock are now unlocked by default, and save states with rewind is always welcome with re-releases of older games.
With that said, there are other issues with this port at launch, particularly inaccurate sound effects. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the emulation, and if it is, I don't know if or when it will be fixed. I also had an issue with the Numpad Plus hotkey for changing window size, because I use that key to operate LiveSplit. In order to make splits, I had to temporarily change LiveSplit's hotkeys, because they can't be disabled or changed in S-Tribute. Hopefully these will be fixed before too long.

Thanks for the info on the emulation quality. I think I'll pass on this and wait to see if Hamster does a port of the arcade version instead. Or I'll just play this version on Mister.
ive tried the switch version and i haven't noticed any input lag there could be some but for me at least its fine still questionable on why the saturn version was picked but overall the port is good enough and the game is still great
Probably because floors going dark when you shoot out ceiling lights still hasn't been emulated on the arcade version yet
