In this video I go over 10 (actually 11) tips/tricks for beginner betta fish owners and just everyday betta fish owners! Betta fish although easy have a lot of misconceptions that lead to many problems in their care. Places like Petco and Petsmart don’t provide factual betta fish information or that many good betta products. Although there are more those are the 10 tips for beginner betta fish owners. Oh goodness, I feel so bad because ive requested so much, but can you also do a video on how to clean a tank properly. A lot of people/pet stores expect people to know how to do it/do it properly when thats not always true.

I remember getting a baby betta as my second or third fish years ago after the first two had passed. I should've done so much more research and I regret buying a baby betta, it died after a 7-8 months and I was so upset. I didn't get a betta for awhile afterwards and I got one last year around July 2020. still I'm trying to do as much research as I can, your channel has helped me so much and I knew my tank is way to small but I didn't realize how bad it was until your channel told me. I've desperately been looking for a 5-10 gallon tank and I'm trying to convince my parents to let me get a bigger tank because obviously its a need. Even though the tank I have right now is extremely small for my betta it still seems to be very happy and always swims around! again thank you so much for educating me it means a lot and I love your channel!!!

I finally got some fish after 2 years of wanting them. I was wanting a betta but decided to have a community tank of guppies and neon tetras. Ive been thinking of getting a 5 gallon tank for a betta and your videos are so helpful. ❤️
That’s sick,I had guppies and neon tetras but my neon tetras ate the guppies(or maybe other way around)

Your plants are melting. You should use some seachem flourish as well as some root tabs to ensure they thrive and survive.

Hi, my betta got fin tot, I was going to get him bettafix, but I heard it could kill your betta. What medication should I get them?
Hi, yes bettafix is not good however a water change, and getting any debris from the bottom of the tank, check ph and temperature and then with a proper dose of aquarium salt is good

Honestly the key is just a clean tank. Clean it 2/3 times a week for couple weeks You don’t need medication mine started getting a little on his tail and just keeping it clean stopped it and it’s grown back almost completely now.
for me, i did water changes everyday (25% of the water), and every two days, i added aquarium salt (that has been dissolved already) i hope this helps!!
What’s wrong with Bettafix?
Recently I noticed a red spot of my rare purple vetail male betta on his top fins. There also seems to be a small "slimey" cloudy texture to the spot as well.
I'm not sure whether this is a fungal infection or a bacterial issue and am worried about wrongly treating him with medication as I've heard far to many people saying it killed their fish. Any suggestions?
I can changing the water weekly at 25% of it and he does have a low flow filter and a heater.

If you have fb join my group Glofish+! I myself have never heard of these issues being strictly more towards Glofish so I’m not really sure where she got that information from.
I started a betta sorority with 5 females and 1 male. I did had a 2nd male betta in there which was interesting cause i placed both bettas in same tank and they didnt really fight at all, due to my purple male is kinda handicap-. He swims vertically majority cause of how he came in the cup. So my sorority was happy. Until i bought natural seashells. One was like a small conch shell. And my blue dragon delta somehow was lodged in the back of the shell-. And
:( suffocated (but i bought a new female betta i rescued from meijer's cause it was lonely and last in the tank (but unsure if its the glow betta or now?). So if planning on getting shells like a conch, either block the back-area of the shell or place the mouth of the conch face deep down in the gravel or sand. For the past few times i also dicovered natural rocks, plants and gravels are really helpful in understanding what i fishes need to love being in my 10 gallon tank. Also including my Pleco (also did you know plecos grow about 25 inches or more-. Found that out last minute after buying one. While watching Aquarium co op or some other fish information youtube-.)
Thanks so much for all the info I’ve gone through a few different pages and this one for sure is the most helpful you explain everything throughly without it being confusing also I didn’t know they really needed a Tank Heater I’m def going to get one right now they made it seem like it was optional at the pet store

I have two male bettas. One in a 5 gallon. One in a 7 gallon. They each have a sponge filter, and a heater. Both tanks are also planted.
Bro where do you shop that they sell baby bettas lol- also sad because they never sell any females except glowbettas where I get my pets and I don't really feel like supporting it, but I love females and shortfins :'/

Also watch your decor. Bettas love to squeeze into small spaces, often resulting in them damaging themselves or possibly getting stuck & dying.
I used to have a male betta in a 55 gallon fishtank with my angelfish. He never bothered them. He ate a sick Molly and died 😢. I'm getting another betta after 7 years but will be my only fish. Thanks for your videos, I really appreciate them. 💙
Do the filters make noise? Like if I had my fish tank in my bed room would it keep me up at night?
@fancy flamingo if you are talking about a sponge filter it sounds like bubbling water and if its a hang on th e back there is no noise if water is leveled but as the water goes down it sounds like a mini waterfall

I'm thinking of also doing a half and half tank. I'm a little worried because male bettas can sense another bettas pheromones. After a while I realized I could just get a female. It's just going to be a hassle trying to find a female. Which I'm exited for just talking about it.
Sorry, its me again, but can you also do a video on the products you trust and use and where you get them? As new betta owners we dont know what cites/people to trust with this sort of stuff because we dont know if they tell us to get a certain product to just get us to buy their stuff.
Salt dissolve. But it doesnt evaporate. To remove it you need to do waterchange.
Cause of you I got a betta, wish I picked a more colourful one... love him non to less but wish he was colourful he was the last one felt bad he was there for a month and nobody wanted him

Have you ever used indian almond leaves in betta tanks? I'm hearing it's good to use due to the tannins
I know you weren’t talking to me but I think it’s best to use Milano wood because it gives a lot of tannins too and is a nice decoration my betta loves hers 🥰

Its true as long as you have proper filter and water movement, thr shape of the container is less of a concern. The size though i wont put betta under 5gal.
Would a betta and a pleco get along? I had a tank before and the pleco always kept it clean, same with corys. I've just never had a betta before lol
i hate when people just get fish because they say, “well, they dont take that much effort, and keep me happy for awhile. so ill get one!”
there’s no good way of making that sound okay. you cant mistreat fish just because you “think” its okay. your fish WILL die that way, whether you like it or not. when i was 7, i had (i think) 5 fish. eventually within 2 months or shorter 4 had died. but this one fish stayed alive for up to a year and a half. I was really surprised at how long it lived, considering i went on vacation alot, and forgot to feed it. (i was 7, so obv that would happen) its so cool that the fish stayed alive. moral is, TAKE CARE OF THE FISH YOU GET. THEY WANNA LIVE TOO!
Wait why can’t you but your betta into their new tank with their old water? So I’m wondering after you acclimate your betta by slowly adding the tank water to their cup, you said not to put them in with their old water. I’m assuming that means you would need to use a net, and put them into their tank that way and not pour them into the tank from their cup? Sorry if my question is confusing.. I’m getting a betta this weekend and just want to be as prepared as I can!!! 💕 love your channel 🤍
You don’t want any parasites or bad bacteria that could be in the pet stores water. I get my hand wet an scoop up the Betta with my hand but a net also works
which sponge filter are you using in your 10 gal divided tank? Would this filter work in a 5 gal?

Been super helpful! Though I am having a problem with one of my beta I just got a few days ago😫 he’s not eating and has scales missing on the top of him. His color is okay but not what He probably should be. I don’t want to over stress him because I got him had him in a 1 g tank and then upgraded the very next day to a 3 g tank. So I know he’s stressed but his color and white patch are bothering me I’ve been doing so much research! Any suggestions are welcome

I got a baby betta as my first betta around February and honestly he's thriving. He's gotten bigger and his color has become a vibrant red, and he's not showing any signs of illness or depression. I think raising him is pretty fun but I can see why it's not the hest one for a beginner lol, I was probably just lucky

Actually bigger tanks is better for bettas max 20 gallons. They just tend to do better in smaller tanks 5 to 20 gallons because it makes the betta feel safe.

@@Meandmymirror it is doing great!! Overall cost is about $300 probably more. I have had a couple of issues with fin rot however with the treatment it heals pretty quick
