Love the video. I have been using Livescope for about 9 months and can fully agree with the learning curve to be able to interpret what you are seeing on screen. Before Livescope my Crappie technique was to tie up to a tree top and drop minnows and hope there were fish swimming around below me waiting for my bait. Since Livescope I exclusively "sight" fish for the larger crappie. The biggest surprise to me has been how much more structure and cover there is underwater that old school fishermen don't know about. Even if there is a school of hundreds of crappie in front of me, I am focusing on catching the largest 3 or 4 fish in the school. Catching the larger fish can be tough cause the smaller fish are so eager to come out of nowhere to grab the bait while the bigger fish seem to wait for a free meal to swim by inches away from their mouth. Lastly, I am much happier to release 99% of the fish since I know that I can reliably catch plenty of Crappie any time I feel like cleaning a mess to eat.
Thanks for the comments. The livescope has sure changed things and sure makes you work on the details of your fishing techniques. Glad you liked our video. 👍👍👍👍
Bruce....I'm doing my research and trying to figure out which system I want to go with and this livescope seems to be the one I'm liking the most....so far. Since you're 9 months in on yours do you like your decision? It's a lot of money and I'm trying to make the best choice and from your comment it looks like your happy with yours? Oh...and by the way, my technique is the same as yours....tie up and drop straight down. LOL......Tight lines brother!!!!
Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.
I’m enjoying the ten foot hyper tense with a bobber this early spring. Fishing pad stems in three foot, about eighteen inches deep. The long rod helps me get them up on the surface pretty quickly.
Got me the Garmin livescope recently and have been bass fishing but yet tried crappie. I can’t wait to try crappie because it has paid off big time for bass. According to what I am seeing and hearing it is killer for crappie. So excited!

Bravo. Liked. Quick question. Have you tried 1/32nd oz minijigs for crappie? And with something that light and small (about 1.5 inches long) - how far away can you see the jigs with the Livescope? Thanks.
In a section of the video he shows the knot he ties to his jig. His reasoning was the knot he uses makes his jig sit more horizontal in the water column making it look more natural.
I tie a loop knot, and my jig runs level when it's vertically jigged. I pour collarless jig heads, which is a contributing factor in obtaining a level presentation. If you only have jig heads with lead collars, then you can snip off the collar with a pair on Toenail clippers. Here's a link showing how a jig head looks in water when it's tied with a loop knot.
Thanks glad you liked it . Hope it shared a few ideas about Live Scope with you. Be sure to check out some of our other videos and tell me what you think. Thanks
Not sure but I believe it’s how they are positioned. I’ll ask and see if I can answer that better. I went and looked at what you are asking and I see what your saying. I noticed that when they came at bait they seemed to level out so it makes me think that’s how they are positioned. ?
I can’t but you may go on a some of the livescope “forums” and ask on them. There is one on Facebook Livescope Nation, maybe ask on there. I don’t want to give you a bad answer so I would ask on there. Thanks and hope you liked our video.
Here in the north, fish don't reproduce like they do in the southern states. And they take longer to grow to maturity. Being a fish doesn't grow much during the winter or colder months. So what do you think is going to happen when most people have live scope. Do you think fishing is going to get better for everyone. Until what happens? People are going to have to start thinking about restocking fees. Meaning fees for restocking fish, if people are still going to want to go fishing in the future. A lot of people, that go fishing spend 80,000 thousand dollars or more on a boat, and possibly another 70,000 thousand dollars for a truck to pull the boat, and then thousands of dollars on the fishing electronics they have on the boat. But what are people willing to spend, to ensure that there will be fish to catch in the future. Surely the DNR doesn't have a clue. In my area around the Green bay WI. General area. We already have lakes that are fished out. And I won't even waste my time going to those lakes. And other lakes the fish population is pretty low. In my area if people find out that there are fish biting somewhere. And word of mouth gets out. People come and fish and keep everything until they can't catch anything anymore. So now what?
Do you guys not think livescope takes all the challenge out of fishing, just like a video game the more you play the better you get, its pure cheating. Why dont we make a remote control lure with a camera you can just swim it up fish and stick them. If you use livescope your not a sportsman, you're a poacher.
I’ll start with some silly sarcasm. think using fishing rods and hooks is cheating. These devices make it easy. I think we should have to catch them bare handed. We use boats and I think we should swim out and catch them only bare handed and no goggles. . I also wouldn’t use gun to hunt we should use sticks and rocks , horses and chase them down. Fishing line makes fishing to easy , we should only use rope. I’m being sarcastic , I think there are many ways and many new innovations to improve fishing, hunting, sports training , life in general ( like air condition , cars and electric). As life advances we just have to be open minded and allow each to do it the way they want to try. I just fish for fun and get to try many different ways so I’m not set on one way or another. But I do understand your opinion on the forward facing. I neither for or against. I truly just love trying new things and making memories in the outdoors. Anyone else comments on?
I guess you haven't tried livescope. Try it out and let everyone know how easy it is. I personally use it for crappie. All it does is take the guess work out of it, atleast through the spring and summer months 😉 winter crappie fishing is even more fun than a video game!
What a good sales video for this but this is not fishing. Typical bass fishermen want everything to be easy. I call bass fisherman rich men that have no skill how to catch fish,,, buy expensive equipment to do all the work for them . While i am ranting and raving ,,, why do bass fishermen run 80 mph on the water. The fish will be there when you ride 30 mpg. You guys are so dangerous to all the other people on the water.
Love the video.

Question? This Garmin is just named Garmin Livescope or what’s model name? Thanks!!
Is your transducer on a separate pole from the spot lock?
Thanks

What Gamin head unit are you using?
What size unit will do the job, with out breaking the bank ??
I use the 9”

You still have to know where piles and other structures are to even use the livescope

Which Livescope do better job 1222or 126sv ur opinion please

Why do the fish on the livescope look like they are vertical rather than horizontal?

ON my unit, it's when the transducer is at a bad angle.
Can you are anyone suggest how to use in 4 foot of water? I have not been able to see brush in 4 foot of water.

I agree. The limit needs to be reduced. Besides the average crappie angler there are the guides that catch thousands

It's cheaper and easier to buy an underwater camera and see the actual fish.
Probably is 😀 but it’s fun trying to find ways to try and catch em’. And then some days still don’t bite no matter what.😀
