he was one of the very first to get the technology and recieved 1st hand information from Garmin. NEVER heard of this guy before livescope in the crappie fishing world.. there are alot of excellent fishers out there that just dont have the time on the water behind a livescope as others do. most folks dont have the luxury to fish almost every day, all day, learning all of the little nuances of livescope.. others had to budget for the upgrade to livescope.. so many are just getting it... you have to put things into context of the situation they are in. do you think its really that unique or special that he saw a crappie suspended in the water column and decided to pitch a jig to it and see what happened? like some kind of great break thru in human reasoning and deduction, like a tesla moment, where he recieved some kind of world changing knowledge from the outer depths of the universe?
I put off purchasing LiveScope for a couple of years. Finally pulled the trigger and got one. Fished with it only 2 times. Love it ! Thank you for this video. Learned a lot in a little while. Probably will watch it multiple times. Thanks again.
I’ve listened to every podcast, multiple times, very thankful to all the guests and Brad, Justin, and Todd for all the great info, all the laughs, and promoting crappie fishing. All you guys are awesome! Last weekend I did my first open water fishing with a guide (Dan L.) and it was really amazing how in-tune you gotta be to achieve success and when you do succeed it is SO rewarding. A lot of what was mentioned in this episode I saw first hand and it’s all great info and it’s the Gods honest truth. Seriously- thank y’all for these episodes that really do help a lot of people catch more fish. It’s appreciated more than y’all will ever know. God bless.
Can you do a podcast and go into more detail about fish identification? I'm a new Livescope owner and I'm wasting to much time on non-crappie. We have a lot White Bass, Wiper, White perch, big shad and catfish in our muddy Kansas and Nebraska lakes. I haven't found any good UA-cam video's on this subject. Thanks for the great content that you share!!!!
Great show but it’s always that!!!! Plenty of interesting views from great guys of different diversity!!!! Hey Brad I don’t wear shoes either 😂!!! I can’t feel the throttle button lol! Multiple pairs of insulated socks in the winter ❄️ 😂. Also I agree 💯 on Todd and them Glasses!!!! It’s a Iconic thing man! 😎
We really appreciate your comments!! I’m glad I’m not the only one not wearing shoes .. freezing or burnt up. 😂 Join in on Today’s Bite 7pm cst here Live on UA-cam
Good one guy. Keep it up! Caught a limit today. Had to set the jig in their head in order to bite. Sand bass were everywhere. Had to look for that one stationary fish and drop on them.
I've done open water from November thru March in South Carolina. Can you still do open water roaming fish in the summer? If so where would you look to find them?
When in search mode, how fast on the trolling motor are you searching for fish? And once you see the fish you want 50 feet out, (I don’t have any brakes or anything, just the trolling motor), do you immediately reverse the trolling motor to try and stop? Coast to it? Thanks and God Bless
Kinda of situational question. Yes your trolling motor for brakes but turning it around can push the prop was towards the fish. That can spook it as well. If you can turn boat in different direction then turn trolling motor to slow down.
still earning mine, I have written stuff down still trying to figure it out, I sponsor Mr Crappie and Pure Crappie, right now how is Grenada or Sardis and lake Washington. I want to enter an amateur one day but I need to understand this first
I’ve had a new boat ordered from Gator trax for about 7 months and today I finally picked the 122SV monitor with the LVS 34 trans and it will be my first Livescope …have no idea if that was a smart decision ? It was Kent’s suggestion so I took the advise what do y’all think ? Also we will be looking for schooled or fish on structure way more than chasing singles ..I think 🤣
They are explaining about turning the transducer up just 1 more click on your mounting bracket...so that your beam is now pointing slightly up. That way it allows us to see the 'splash' exactly where we casted.
Knocked it out of the park. Get really tired of UA-cam videos with a fancy title and thumbnail showing people just catching crappie. I don’t want to watch someone else catch crappie I want to know the “how” and “why” and “when”…I also don’t need all your secrets, I can learn those on my own, the hard way!!!!
Bait decent control.....Using the 1/4 oz and up sinkers and larger jigs, how are you controlling the decent of the fall without it just blowing past the fish. Even with holding the rod up, the weight of the bait and sinker, to me, are still swinging on the "pendulum" and falling so fast that you can see the bubble trails. LOL.In my very limited time having live scope, I've found that I prefer the smaller hair tied jigs (1/32 and 1/16) coupled with a smaller sinker, like a #5 split shot. It seems to help me with better bait control. I can only assume this will change with more experience.

This is an awesome episode one of my faves
Defiantly a good one
Great Video
Thanks!
Thanks for the info. It certainly shortens the learning curve.
Glad it was helpful!

I think Josh Jones should get royalties every time professionals elaborate on roaming big crappie techniques. Great show thanks guys

Tons of good info in this episode. Took me about a year to learn most of it and I still picked up a few pointers
Great 👍

When he held up the jig and sinker he said 1/4 barrel Swivel, did he mean 1/4 barrel sinker?
Sinker
Thank you!
what offset or position should I have my livescope set at for fishing deep timber ,, 25 to 40 feet? thanks
Zero offset
thanks what position are you running your transducer in forward or down?@@crappieconnection
Is a single black crappie more prone to be in open water than a white crappie or vice versa?
White Crappie suspended more than black crappie
Both will suspend though
Good one guy. Keep it up! Caught a limit today. Had to set the jig in their head in order to bite. Sand bass were everywhere. Had to look for that one stationary fish and drop on them.
Sounds like you got it down
Great video ! ! Information for the new guy or the one that knows everything
Appreciate your comment
I've done open water from November thru March in South Carolina. Can you still do open water roaming fish in the summer? If so where would you look to find them?
Yes sir
Might be better times of the day for different bodies of water. Early or late day definitely would a great time to check
3:02 What the hell are Roman fish and what have they ever done for us?
Roaming fish😂😂
brad what do youo mean about clicking transducer UP?
Instead of having it level like the instructions show. click it up a notch higher.
@@crappieconnection i still dont understand what do you mean by notch gain etc..

Enjoyed the info, guys. TJ, I need to get to Grenada and get a 3 lb slab
You have a great time I’m sure
What can you do to make your jig show up more?

You are sponsored by Mr Crappie and Pure Crappie ? Look for magnolia crappie club great way to start out.

Yes great purchase
Take a guide trip with a guide that is good with Livescope
Teach us new guys how to find crappie to livescope, just put a 106 sv on my boat and cannot find fish to use my unit on. Please
Hopefully we did some in this video.
Watch today’s Bite Tuesday 7pm cst
It’s live so ask us some questions
My transducer is on the pole beatdown pole what do you mean turn transducer up i have the 32
If you don’t see the splash of a jig hitting the water you need to turn it up a notch
They are explaining about turning the transducer up just 1 more click on your mounting bracket...so that your beam is now pointing slightly up.
That way it allows us to see the 'splash' exactly where we casted.
Fish will look shorter on the livescope than they are if they are perpendicular to the beam. They will be bright though
Thanks for commenting

The advantage with heavy weights is being able to adjust to the fish is moving in all directions
A lot of times fish will go down a bit then come up right underneath your bait and eat it
Yes indeed!!
Appreciate the comment
I don't understand the comments about "clicking" up the transducer in order to see the jig hit the water.
Turn it up one notch

Thats a Manuel adjustment at the transducer.
@@kenshannonheater3923 thanks, I will look at that today.
