I would like to see shrimp and grits. I had this at a restaurant for $17.5 and was amazing borderline phenomenal but would love to do it from home for cheaper. I just got over a cold, I made this and it cleaned my sinuses in seconds. I don’t know if it was the heat, or the taste, probably both. Delicious as always sir
Well done! I make variations of this almost everyday for breakfast/lunch. I use Korean anchovy dashi power and Korean red pepper flakes, fresh ginger.... Cost less $1 Those instant packages are getting so expensive!
I just have to say, this is the first recipe I’ve ever tried from you Josh, and tonight is the third night in a row that I’ll be making it. Trying to add a little bit of my own flavor tonight! But seriously so delicious, can’t wait to make the cheesy gordita crunch
This is an amazing quick ramen version, and now is my to go when i want to make ramen at home. But I made a few extra steps (not but cheeper anny more - still not too expensive) 1. Marinate the egg ( min 24h before) Egg marinade - 1/3 cup soy, 1/3 cup mirin, 1 cup dashi 1/4 cup water (or bee fancy and use sake) - boil, cool pour on eggs. 2. When cooking shalots add some sambal oelek (or just chilli ) for extra kick 3. Add some dashi broth (papa josh adds hondashi)
I will never be able to slice green onions on a steep bias without cringing at "green onion pubes". Just bc you had to live knowing that doesn't mean I should have to 😭 also that soft boiled egg was giving me flashbacks to the stripper chicken body party video
Better to make stocks of pork/chicken bones ahead of time and keep in the freezer in microwave and freezer safe BPA free plastic (polypropylene) containers of the size you need for serving your family, so all you need to do is take one out and microwave for a minute and hot stock is ready! Stuff like the boiled eggs, chicken, corn, tare can be done in a few minutes. 'Chashu (rolled & cooked pork belly)' for tonkotsu ramen can also be done ahead of time & kept frozen for up to 6 months, simply take out and slice and sear them in a few minutes. So there you have, it. Tasty tonkotsu, miso or shoyu ramen in a few minutes!
After making different ramen dishes about a half dozen times I tried yours. I am a big fan of this. Easier to make and delicious! The corn was a great addition. I did that, mushrooms, overnight marinated eggs and sometimes arugula.
Dude thank you so much! I’ve been absolutely craving ramen but it takes time and costs money, so this is absolutely perfect! You’re also hilarious and entertaining, love your vids, keep it up, I’ll enjoy your content and take from your recipes probably as long as I live.

Just ate ramen last night and spend $18 😭 I will take what I learn here and make my own now!
Joshua's channel can be described in one word:
A E S T H E T I C
Well done! I make variations of this almost everyday for breakfast/lunch. I use Korean anchovy dashi power and Korean red pepper flakes, fresh ginger.... Cost less $1
Those instant packages are getting so expensive!
I just have to say, this is the first recipe I’ve ever tried from you Josh, and tonight is the third night in a row that I’ll be making it. Trying to add a little bit of my own flavor tonight! But seriously so delicious, can’t wait to make the cheesy gordita crunch
I know it's probably coincidence but the fact "uncle Roger" was dunking on Jamie Oliver today makes you look like your flexing papa.
I am so happy.
Just made this! "Best bowl of Ramen" I have ever made...You are the best! Thanks for sharing this recipe....
A little bummed Vikram wasn't asked to complain about the instant ramen.
Right?
I have already eaten 20% of my ramen
Amen
First video i ever saw of you, but your editing got me subscribing.
Papa! You post this on the same day that Uncle Roger roasted Jamie Oliver's ramen skills? You live on the edge!
The way you defended the corn made every person who questioned it try it.
Same Ramen video as Uncle Roger in the same time *hardest decision of my life*
I will never be able to slice green onions on a steep bias without cringing at "green onion pubes".
Just bc you had to live knowing that doesn't mean I should have to 😭 also that soft boiled egg was giving me flashbacks to the stripper chicken body party video
" stripper chicken body party video"
... what?
@@shadowcat1606 HAHA EXACTLY
what have you been watching bub?
One of your many recipes that I’ve cooked. Very tasty as always!
Uncle Roger crying: Where's the msg, no msg?
JW: I have Miso....
Uncle Roger: not enough, not nearly enough!
Any suggestions on if it’s possible to make good ramen with a different meat? I don’t like pork
So uncle roger and josh are in synch with the uploads😅
And both ramens
Add a spoon of miso to Shin instant noodle, a dash of dashi.
Sometimes even a slice of American cheese
I needed this 6 weeks ago when I had to cook 20 guys ramen and was $100 over budget on my recipe. Turned out great tho
Instant ramen addictives that need to happen: coconut milk, sesame oil, and fish sauce. Takes it to another level!
Agreed
After making different ramen dishes about a half dozen times I tried yours. I am a big fan of this. Easier to make and delicious! The corn was a great addition. I did that, mushrooms, overnight marinated eggs and sometimes arugula.
I feel like you’re trying to impress uncle Roger because he’s starting to reveal Ramen videos
Who else literally feels like UA-cam is their best friend during Covid-19?
Great vid! Looks so easy to follow. Also enjoyed your energyyyyyy! Thanks man!
Uncle Roger and Papa Josh uploaded the same time 😊😊 and its Ramen!!!!! 🤔
There's one word for that: Fuiyoh!
Dude thank you so much! I’ve been absolutely craving ramen but it takes time and costs money, so this is absolutely perfect! You’re also hilarious and entertaining, love your vids, keep it up, I’ll enjoy your content and take from your recipes probably as long as I live.
One doesn’t experience self-transcendence, the illusion of self only dissipates🎈
7:10 holy shit that gave me actual chills because of how well those intros work together
This video couldn't have came at a better time! Realized I spent almost $200 last month on $20 bowls of ramen, this is a great quick version and is going to save me a lot of cash🤣 going to make the tonkotsu one of these days when I have 12 hours to spare!
