You came through right on time with this Steff, I’ve been wanting to try that pixi spf spray but I hadn’t really seen any reviews on it so I really appreciate you doing this for us😘
Yes! Yes! Yes! This is the video we needed right now. I’ve always been curious about which ones are the best. I had the Coola one years ago and it irritated my skin so bad. I’m excited to try the Pixi one. Bring on SUMMER ☀️
Thanks Steff. Great reviews. I am almost out of my setting sprays that have a fine mist which I prefer. I have some others, but they do leave water droplets and I don't like them as well. I want to try some other alternatives to the higher end setting sprays. The Pixi looks like it may be a great choice, that Kate Somerville looks like it would be great if on sale.🥰
If there’s a setting spray you really like but don’t like the sprayer, find a bottle with the sprayer you like and when that one’s all gone you can fill it with the setting spray you like but didn’t like the sprayer. I hope that made sense 😂 I’d find tons I really liked but didn’t like the sprayer on so I ended up keeping an empty bottle of one I loved the sprayer on and any time I find a spray I like but don’t like the sprayer, I’ll get out the empty one with the sprayer I like and put the spray in there!
I really like the light/mint green shirt and earrings you're wearing. Right now I'm using the One Size spray; however, I'm not so sure I believe everything about setting sprays. That they do this and they do that. I've tried many and none of them seem different than the others. I want a setting spray that will lock the make up into place, and I don't know if any of them do that.
Really needed review. Along time ago I tried a coola one but it ruined my makeup with big droplets. I'm happy there's a way to reapply SPF over makeup.
Your videos are great and give just what we need to make the best decision. Thank you so much!! I bought the Super Goop spray and I thought it made me look so greasy!!! Going to return for sure.
I'm sooooo freaking excited you did this video Steff!! I'm an oily skin girl too and I've been searching for a good SPF setting spray!! I used your link and grabbed one for me and one for my sis! 🤗💖
Hi Steff- can you tell me what kind of powder puff this is- what brand do you recommend? I have always bought the inexpensive blender sponges, but would like to try using a puff for touch ups - thanks for your recommendations.🥰
Wow! Thank you for your thorough review!❤ I am definitely going to get the Pixie! It made you look glowy! And it’s only $15! I loved the purple and green eye look you did using the Toujours ❤I think I’ll use my electric hand fan to help the spray dry. That way I don’t have to press it in. Okay I want the Kate Somerville one as well! Thank you so much for the video 💕💕
Coola also has a matte spf setting spray. I didn't know which spray to get this weekend! I'll pick up the pixi. I got the coola water stick and I feel like it leaves a gummy film on my face so I'm returning it.
Yes! I went looking for it in store and it was no where to be found. I was shocked at how Target redid their beauty section too lol!! You can tell I don’t go there too often bcs all my paycheck will be gone in 30 minutes haha!! 😂😂😂
@@SteffsBeautyStash I know! It's way too tempting for me to go into Target. I have to stay far away, but now there's one 2 blocks from where I live and another one 2 blocks from where I work!!!
Hi Steff! Great video idea 😊 and you are keeping me company after a painful surgery. Been up all night 🥹 I think my favorite pick is the Pixi, the 1st one….I wonder if Target has it…Do you find you like the sprays better than the lotions? Ty!
Oh no I hope you start feeling better right away!!! I’m so sorry! I still use a cream spf as part of my skincare routine, but these are meant to be able to touch up throughout the day since spf wears off about 2 hours after applying.
@@SteffsBeautyStash thank you so much, it cheered me up watching your smile 😊 ok, I didn’t think about the sprays lasting longer, good tip! Have a great day.
I actually use the Glowish Blur Jam primer and have desert dry skin. That and the original Tatcha Silk Canvas are my only primers that work for me. They make even bad foundations look great. The trick for me is to rub it on then press it into those areas I want to smooth. Then I let it set a couple minutes. Loved this video and learned a lot. I will be adding either the Pixie or Cate Somerville one to my collection. I am very fair skin and will fry like an egg in the sun.
Steph ! So I found the pixi one and bought it right away at a local cvs ! Also got my 30% off ! But it’s not actually labeled for face ! How do we know this is safe ???
@@SteffsBeautyStash and actually I’m reading the website too and says the same as my can. .do not spray directly onto face . Apply with hands then face
Great review video! How many times during the 10 hours did you re-apply? Was it just once in the morning and then again after first check in? I am not sure how much you are supposed to apply every time, but I think you have to spray it a lot longer than a little mist over the face to get correct SPF? Standard recommendations are to spray "generously" and until the face is completely saturated and "glistening" or each part of the face for at least 6 seconds - so I am wondering how these would preform if you were actually out and about for 4-6 hours and would re-apply every other hour in the correct amount? As a thumb rule a standard six-ounce can of spray sunscreen should last you six applications total so I guess its an ounce that should be used each application, but maybe that is for the full body? I am really having big expectations for the new one from Australian Ultra Violette, the Preen Screen Reapplication Mist that just released. Hope you will compare this one to your favourite Kate Somerville :-)
I did four times but I do work indoors. I rarely go outside during the day. For those of us with a similar schedule I would reapply before leaving for lunch and leaving work at end of day. Spray your hands too!!
I have only tried the LRP and the Garnier SPF mists for my face but both were horribly greasy, I did not like them. I got the Japanese Biore aqua SPF mist which was a new release which was really nice but hard to find, so this video was super helpful! Only the Coola and Kate Somerville ones are available here in the UK, so I might pick up the Kate one
From a dermatologist’s point of view how would anyone know for sure it’s a correct amount of spf applied in order to get the “spf amount “ on the bottle ? I mean it’s better than nothing but I’m curious is the protection is actually effective
That’s also true with the amount we apply in cream form prior to our makeup. We’ll never know for sure if we are using the exact amount but something so always better than nothing.
@@SteffsBeautyStash but I use a certain method for creams. I’m just asking cuz I really want to know .. I Mean for application directions on these - what does it say ????
@@rosemartin4398 well I just checked the pixie one and it says to apply to hands and pay into skin, usually SPF needs to be rubbed or patted in so that's probably why. I'm thinking I'm just gonna bite the bullet and pat gently and then apply some more setting powder or something
There's very little chance that spraying the face like that provides significant sun protection. Its seems like a comforting product to use, but not really practical. Maybe if you spray it generously onto a sponge and dab it all over the face. Idk.
Spray is effective as long as enough is applied! Usually layers to prevent streaking is most appealing. These products are more touch up or top off types to go on top with sufficient SPF coverage under the makeup.
For the price, I'm going to try the Pixi - how it will perform on my normal/dry skin (I become more normal during the warmer months), I've no idea. As for the skincare in some of these - I'm saying nothing 🤐😅😅 Loadsa love to you 💚🩵💚🩵💚🩵💚

I have terrible skin so take it with a grain of salt. I am a redhead. I have some freckles but not as prominent for being a redhead. I have never enjoyed putting sunscreen on my face because it would cause breakouts and irritation plus I wore makeup. I've never gotten a sunburn on my face when wearing makeup. Just regular foundation without spf. I don't understand why spf is needed if makeup blocks the I've rays. Could someone explain? I mean I've been on cruises and things and you can see my face is stark white and my shoulders, chest arms where I did apply sunscreen, are lobster red in photos so it just confuses me.
Wow that’s strange, I wish I had an answer for you. Were you wearing a hat? Maybe that helped out. Idk about foundation blocking sun rays but maybe it does to some extent but I really don’t know. Thanks for sharing this! I hope someone can answer this for us!
I wonder how much spray you need to actually achieve the correct spf. Since you need so much cream sunscreen I'd imagine you really gotta spray a ton lol.
I'm pretty sure the pixi sunscreen is just sunscreen, on the pixi site it says to spray into your hands and apply to face. I don't think this is a makeup setting spray
