Thank you so much for speaking about this. My brother has had two melanomas, and I am vigilant about staying out of the sun as much as possible, and getting my check ups, and always always applying sunscreen. Thank you and have a good day Melanie.
Thanks for sharing that Melissa. I think people tend to think they will never get cancer. It happens to "other people". I'm so glad you had a wakeup call. I hope your brother is doing ok now. So scary!
I’m a home visitor. I travel in a car a lot throughout my county. I am vigilant about reapplying to my exposed arms/ hands in the car. I am not so great about face reapplication. I wear make up and I haven’t figured out how to reapply without disturbing my makeup- so I don’t 🫣🫥 Can’t wait to try this.
Melanie it's true about the sprays but I too always thought that I wasn't getting the best protection. Your doctor is right though I probably wasn't applying enough. Keep up the good work 😂
Hose yourself down and feel confident that you are protecting yourself. I have to stress to Stella all the time that SPF needs to go on generously. She hates blending it in however lol.
Thank you for sharing reviews on SPF it’s very helpful. Now that I am in my early 30s I am trying to be more vigilant about SPF even though I try not to be out in the sun much cause I hate this time of year anyways lol but I have been searching for a good SPF and right now I am using Elf holy hydration spf 30 and it’s pretty good but it takes a while to really rub it in and makes my skin look greasy for quite awhile so I’m gonna keep searching.
I hope you find something that works well for you soon! I'm so glad you are more vigilant about it now. I put all of my SPF reviews into a playlist on my channel.
Do you know the Pog Family here on You Tube? They are from Oregon (the town Estacada?). The mom, Sarah, is only in her 30s and has been fighting melanoma. It spread, especially to her brain and she is now on her deathbed with only days left. So sad. Such a sweet family. Melanoma is so scary. Knowing the widowed parent life the dad has in front of him, I shed tears today. Their youngest is only 3. My twins were only 6 and barely remember Dave.
I am not familiar with them so I just went and looked them up. Estacada is a quiet little town, lovely place. I am heartbroken for their family... and for her. I cannot imagine having to leave my family behind. This must be such a difficult time for all of them. Melanoma scares me so much. I will be thinking of them. Thank you for introducing the channel to me.
I only use spray spf when I know I’m going to be in the shade gardening. Otherwise I goop on tube spf. My skin is so dry, and living here it sucks up any moisture and I burn within an hour of applying spray. It might work better for people who have humidity so the skin has moisture. I do go without sunscreen first thing in the morning and sit out with coffee in hand for at least 15 min soaking in the vitamin d. ( I know shame shame) but it keeps me healthy. (I also supplement 10k iu d3 from Oct to April) I have finally started getting a natural “tan” even with spf. Maybe it’s the hormone change or the healthier eating, but I’ll take it. I used to be glow in the dark white and always looked sick. Now I look like I have a healthy glow. It’s not tan, like what most people would consider, but hey, I’m a natural red head so any color other than burnt red is a bonus😂…..I do still want to try the vacations one though, but with the scent, I’ll be wishing I was poolside with a margarita in hand!
Well you certainly do need some exposure to the sun for that vitamin D. A must have in the human body for optimal functioning for sure. You sound like you know exactly how much sun you need. Like you I load up on vitamin d (year round for me... I think it helps my brain a lot!).
@@MrKongsMom it absolutely keeps us functioning and healthy. I don’t know why more drs don’t promote supplemental d. Anyone who lives north of The Bible Belt should always supplement.
@@Faithb73I live in south GA and still have to take a Vitamin D3 supplement every day. 2K iu on my Dr recommendation. Some people just don't absorb it naturally I guess. 🤷♀️
@@hollymyers4665 wow, I guess they should go back to the old standard of anyone north of the equator should supplement! Especially if you use spf faithfully. If everyone did, we’d cut the viral load in half I bet! It truly helps us have a strong immune system. It’s not even a vitamin. It’s a hormone. Crazy isn’t it?

Hi Melanie! I really appreciate all of your sunscreen reviews. So HELPFUL!!!❤. ( Loving your nails! Can’t stop looking at them!😊)
Thank you Jessica! I cannot believe these nails belong to me! I can't believe I used to get acrylics.
