Ali Adbaal is a UA-cam and author, his videos on productivity tips and study hacks have gained him over 5 millions subscribers and over 380 million views. Before beginning his UA-cam career Ali trained to be a Doctor of Medicine and went on to work in the NHS as a Junior Doctor for 2 years. In this episode, Ali takes Jake and Damian on a deep dive into how to foster productivity in the everyday and stay on top of your goals. Many New Year’s resolutions fail as they are motivated by reward, rather than internal motivation. Ali explains how by understanding the three energisers: Play, Power and People, you can keep yourself motivated throughout the year.
By giving his top tips avoiding procrastination, Ali shares his system for keeping productive including a unique bucket list system that separates essential goals from the rest, helping to maintain perspective and keeping goals realistic. He also offers practical advice on saying no when needed, eliminating unhelpful routines, and recognising the signs of burnout. Ali's wisdom extends to nurturing your inner child, offering a fresh perspective on personal growth and finding fulfilment.

What's your top takeaway from this episode?
One of the big ones was that the action of doing the bare minimum at a job you dislike is actually draining more energy and causing more burnout with misalignment and exhaustion. I'm going to be a bit more mindful of how to approach the work day with a positive view and maybe start with that "daily adventure" mindset that was referenced in the video.
Maybe I'm depressed, dull or just generally apathetic, but if I only did anything in life when I think to myself "Hell yes!" then I'd almost litterally never do anything.
Damn... Ali is all over my recommendations right now. But I don't mind it at all, since he's the reason I overcame my fear of starting my own UA-cam channel.
Love that!
He talks in the book about “Over Communicating” - he’s doing it to the T lol
I'm really thankful for my UA-cam algorithm for recommending Ali to me a few months ago.
I used to have a music career and it was fun and engaging. The moment I made it a business, it wasn’t enjoyable, meaningful, and sustainable. Now whatever my entrepreneurial endeavor is, I try to never forget what made it feel good.
Never heard of this bloke yet I think he’s the person I need to hear from the most. Looking forward to watching this. Really starting to enjoy this channel.
Many many times procrastination has worked in my favour.Time and time again Ive dragged my feet to do something only to find the outplay made it the right decision in hindsight.
Awesome episode! Thanks Ali for bringing the antidote to the hustle culture. I'm looking forward to apply the principles of feel good productivity to my daily life!
This was an awesome episode.
I have started listening to Ali’s book and it’s been nice to hear him here share some of the same studies and tips he wrote about in Feel-Good Productivity.
I love that we’re slowly celebrating a balanced life over hustling for a lifetime. It’s better for our physical and mental health, and our communities.
Everything boils down that you have to change your perspective and mindset!! Great vid!
"What is today's adventure going to be?" - Ali
Thank God you put "breaks" in the book, finally I don't feel bad doing a break.
💕 Spending time with you people is like having the feeling of fair weather friends in extremely unpleasant situation.
Love you content creators 💕
a brilliant interview - Ali speaks very well, makes a lot of sense, and makes some genuinely thought provoking points
He's really helped me out in creating my UA-cam Channel too... kudos to him 👏
I feel like we are reinventing the wheel that lots of spiritual practices knew for millenia. But this is valuable! Thank you
Very enjoyable episode! What a positive guy. Loved his methods for overcoming procrastination. I have some bouts now and then. But my 12 year old son struggles with it. So now I can help him because of Ali 🙏🏼
Love u high performance team i enjoyed the video
Biggest takeaway was before starting a task, clarifying what I want to accomplish!
Great episode, Ali is so inspiring
I don't know, presenting us for years now ways to never procrastinate again, always something new or better. We all would have more time then we are ages old, if we would have done everything he said. The thing is, people are preparing for no longer procrastinating, they order their tasks, they are preparing notebooks or tools to help them - but they never go steps ahead of that. There is a new video then, which tells you now you can to XY to never procrastinate again...so it's just an endless waste of time. And Ali is living from that. Well, nice that it works, but if you really want to stop procrastinating: Just get your a*s up, it is simple as that. Just begin with anything. Don't waste time with thinking about the order of your tasks, just beginn with something. What helps: Clean your room/apartment/house. It will be much easier to get a clear head, believe me. And then just start with your tasks, one after another. Grab a sheet of paper and simply write down what to do if you want, getting lists done is very satisfying for your brain, but don't overplan everything. It's a complete waste of time.

I feel like hes a better businessman than a productivity coach. Because if you watch his day in the life videos, i didnt find them particularly productive
Meh. The algorithm made him. Now he can preach for his financial pedestal about fun productivity. That’s the way of the world. UA-camrs are literally Google algorithm plants 🪴 & tend to sound really, really smug and are ultimately super naturally boring.

Well you've got a good pressure you've got the pressure and you're freaking cash but
I don't actually understand what he does. A productivity expert that doesn't produce anything except a book about how to produce things, podcasts about how to produce things. But what's he produced? It's like some weird doom loop
This is exactly the problem I have with life coaches and people that earn a living by telling people how to be happy and find your dream career. The sad truth is the vast majority of people have to work menial jobs and generally unlikeable jobs in order for society to function. We can't all be life coaches. And to be honest, I don't think that the average taxi driver, binman, or office administration assistant, will glean much value from asking themselves "what will today's adventure be?" on a Monday morning.
Maybe I'm just too old to get it :) But yes, I totally agree with you.@@TheBustedFlush1998
