Hair Tutorial: On-the-go Natural Curly Look

Hi everyone! A lot of times I'm in my car going from one audition to another, and I've found a quick way to change up my look. In this hair tutorial, we're in my car and using [insert name of steamer here] steam curlers to achieve a natural curly look. Enjoy!
Steps:
1. Use single-ply toilet paper squares and fold around the ends before curling.
2. Section hair into 1-2 inch parts and use steam curler and work from the bottom up.
3. Repeat to finish all hair parts.
4. Leave in curlers for about 3 minutes.
5. Undo curlers and gently finger-comb hair.
6. Set with hairspray.

OMG! The Caruso brings back so many memories. It was huge back in the early nineties. I did my hair that way for prom in '94 with my Caruso! LOL Love it!

Omg Wendy!! Your hair is soooo long, I never even realised :) And it looks gorgeous and beautiful both straight and curly! I've heard some great things about this curling method...and it's a lot less damaging than a curling wand or iron. Plus the effect is amazing! Great tip about the tissue paper trick! Totally doing that now because of you! I'm going out tomorrow to buy one. I had one back in the '90's but I must have lost it in all my moves. @mariebearpig Hi! It usually only takes me about 7 minutes from start to finish to do my hair with this steamer. It's pretty fast =)

oh man. when i was in high school, i had a battery operated travel curling iron. it was the best thing EVER! it came with a bed head scrunch spray. i carried that thing with me everyday to touch up curls or to do my hair on the way to school b/c school was 17 miles away (the county allowed my community to be built but didn't see the need for a high school for 1000 students in my neighborhood alone until after i was out...) so i had 25 minutes. i need another one. haha.
the deal is sealed, I have been thinking of buying a new steamer as mine bit the dust. I have used the Caruso system since I was like 14 or 15. I am currently 38!

i haven't seen those steam rollers in ages (and I'm pretty old). they used to be sold via infomercial years and yeas ago. Didn't know they were still in production. Curls look great.

This is perfect if you're stuck in traffic and need to do your hair! In LA, it's usual to be stuck in traffic anywhere from 15- 90 minutes!

This is great! Thanks for the toilet paper trick! My hair is very fine, and silky, so it doesn't stay well when I try to roll it... but I never thought about toilet paper, haha... I can't wait to try it!
it's wierd how different you look before/after! you look younger with straight hair, and older with curly. you could definitely use that to your advantage with auditions! :)
longchamps are pretty much at any high end store. you can get it at Holt Renfrew, or Nordstrom, or any of those stores!

That was really entertaining to watch, I loved the candidness of it. As I was watching, I was wondering, if you had enough time between auditions, if one could put the curlers in, drive to the next audition (arriving early being the key part of the scenario) and then take them out? That way you could see people's reactions... :P Just wondering.
