67 year old,and been struggling for last few years striking the ball, fats, thins with no power. Then I started watching the Easiest swing videos, and decided to give it a try . Have to say after initially finding it hard to get out of habits( formed over the last few years, years I have been striving to get back to playing off 5 ,with low 70s scores.) I believe I have found something that has ,initially increased my strike, length and importantly the enjoyment . I know there will ups and downs along the way,but I feel I now have a method that works and with the benefit of the website book and u tube videos I believe I can go back to square one and start again. Roll on next season.
Hi Stephen so good to hear from you and your success with ES so far. I am certain you will continue to make steady progress now you are breaking those old habits. You are experienced enough to know it’s not a straight line of improvement there will be ups and downs but boy are the ups worth it! I’d suggest you also consider joining our online club there are 25 coaching courses on there all of which are very thorough as well as some great conversations and blog articles and a monthly zoom workshop. All the details are on the website. Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you Martyn. Yes absolutely, we’ll make videos about this demonstrating with regular clubs in the future. We use the Swing Caddy because it gives incredible feedback. Plus for the viewer it is very visual.
Excellent video Phil on releasing tension and grip pressure to get a more productive swing. That's an interesting drill that the Canadian Pro came up with and one that I will be trying out! As a senior golfer, I recognize the fact that brute strength is not the answer to hit stronger shots. I have relaxed my wrist, loosened up my shoulder and forearms and now "let it fly!" One thing that I'm not and that's "in the woods!" Well Done Phil! Keep Up the Good Work!
I completely agree with your philosophy of taking tension out of the swing to improve speed but I’ve always had a problem when I try to do so. I’ve found that I need to keep my left arm straight to maintain my swing arc for consistent impact. Unfortunately trying to keep my left arm straight increases tension and a poor transition from the top of the backswing.
Bill Mehlhorn used to tie a rope from the club to his left shoulder and hit shots with his right hand only. He discovered the rope straightened itself through impact. He learned to let his left arm swing as soft as a rope and allow it to naturally straighten through the ball. Hope that concept helps. 🤗👍
I see a number of people on here with problems regarding the swing caddy training aid and whether it is functioning correctly. I have purchased one of these recently and on day one was struggling to get the click and my initial thoughts were is it working correctly or is it me. I persevered and got it working on the lower swing speeds. I got another person to try it for me on the higher swing speeds and it worked correctly. I would suggest getting someone else to try the caddy at the higher speeds to confirm that it works at all swing speeds. In my case it was definitely the archer and not the bow, but it know works correctly. Hope this helps.
Great observation Melvyn and thank you for sharing this. We often find golfers struggle to get a click at a swing speed they believe they should be able to achieve. The reality is that despite the effort golfers put in, the swing speed they get out isn't as high as they think. The beauty of these training aids is that it helps golfers discover how to achieve effortless swing speed. It is often counterintuitive that: less effort = more relaxed = more speed.
Hi Phil, a pertinent video with great clarity, thank you! You use the Swing Caddy which is (36 inches), but also mentioned the the Hole in One (28 inches). Is it only the length that differs? Or which is one is the 'better' to use?
We have a great page on our website that explains the key differences: easiestswing.com/swing-caddy/ Essentially the SC has a longer flexible shaft which promotes rhythm and ease. The HIO has a shorter stiff shaft, which is ideal for indoor practice or packing in a suitcase for holidays!
It really depends on the environment you use it in the HIO is great for indoors and travelling but the SC is great outdoors or if you have high ceilings. As the HIO is shorter it is a little heavier and has a relatively stiff shaft but the SC has a fairly flexible shaft which is great for rhythm. If budget is no issue get them both!! 🤩
I totally agree with the grip pressure drill. If I had a tenth of the money I have spent on training devices which seem to work great for all the pros using them I could afford the $300 bucks for this gadget.
Bought a swing caddy from you abiut 4 years ago,. Never been able to get it past 48 mph. 32 mph is where I feel comfortable. Is there something I can do so the swing caddy is more accurate. My actual swing speed is more like 80, I'm 72 and I now play off 18.
Have you tried turning it from one end to the other? I expect you have, but if not give that a try. That can reset it. It does sound like it was never quite right but unfortunately it is out of warranty now. If you can ignore the numbers and use the feel as your guide hopefully it still works for you.
@@Easiestswing Obviously yes. Been like it since I got it and thought it was me. Couldn't believe how easily you swung with one arm. So, thought I would ask the question.

Keep swinging it without effort and remember that winding it back and making it easier is just as important if not more so than trying to find a new maximum.
I do not know how you do it Philip. Amazing. I am 69, very healthy, athletic but maybe not enough🙂. I have loosened up a lot . Yes but cannot go beyond 75. It is an improvement but yes no 80s or 90s. Will the rope drill be good also?
As suggested in the video lower the setting to around 55-60 and make sure the click doesn’t happen before impact then, when you have that feel gradually ramp it up again. Another exercise is to set it just 5mph above your own max and experiment to see what you have to do to get a click. You don’t need to ask how but you will discover the answer as time goes on. Switch between those two exercises and you will find speed you don’t know you had!
@@Easiestswing I feel I am doing everything right because I am getting a click past the ball up to a setting of 66-75 max. After that it is a huge strain. Wonder if the hardware could have an issue?
Keep working on it, you have identified the problem yourself..... You say after 75 it becomes a "huge strain", this is what the Swing Caddy can help you with - discovering how to get that speed without the strain. You will find it is most likely the muscles that are straining that are actually slowing the speed down. Once you relax those ones and allow the key ones to work, you will suddenly discover your speed jumping up again. It can be a little frustrating at first but persevere and you WILL find the way forward
I regularly drive over three hundred yards and recently hit one 380 yards so 263 is very much within my window (but truly at the lower end), with 280 being about average. We will be releasing some videos using Trackman in a few weeks time if you still remain unconvinced.

Hi Philip Great video, but are you able to release a similar video for those who don't have a swing caddy, using a golf club? Thanks

Good video Philip. Do you have any suggestions for someone who doesn't have a swing trainer ?
Ask your family or friends to buy you one as a present! 😂
Also turn the club around and listen to the swoosh of the grip.
Awesome (and counterintuitive) video.
Really pleased it was helpful!
Thanks glad you liked it 🤩

Indeed and once you have one you’ll never need another!
Can I send it in and pay for it to be corrected to have the right settings as, I do use it quite a lot?
Please send an email to our team and they will be in touch esteam@esiestswing.com

What loft do you have on your driver
I have a 10° but the slower the swing speed the more loft you need
Is this the same as talking about the release?
Yes - very much so 👍
My issue is impact, low point control. Constantly topping or hitting ball fat.

Swing Caddy is very expensive 😢
It's an investment indeed. One that will last years and should be used daily - considerably more than any other club in your bag.
It is great value - unfortunately cheaper alternatives just aren’t as good.
263 YARDS i am not sure ......
Perhaps you will believe the Foresight GC3 at 7.11 ua-cam.com/video/7d2iS_cB2DI/v-deo.html or you can watch our other videos using Trackman.

Listen to the woosh; if you don't have the caddy.
Great stuff!
Absolutely 👍
More timing, not more force.
Swing the force
Don’t
Force the swing
Spot on thanks for that 👍
