    Always enjoy your weekly videos Phil! They always emphasize a easy swing! Your tennis racquet example "caused a lightbulb to go on inside my head!" This is probably what I have been doing to restrict my driver distance! I certainly will be making changes brought on by your suggestion! Well Done Phil! And Good Luck with your new studio!

    Thank you for another very helpful video.
    Brian would have been delighted to see you using the marvellous studio.
    Very different setting to Brian's original videos.
    Times are changing.

      Yes indeed - it is really interesting seeing how we can combine the latest technology with the Easiest Swing ethos. I remember though the first time Brian and I saw one of these about 20 years ago and he was fascinated how you could relate what you were feeling to what you were seeing in terms of the stats. He was very enthusiastic about its potential. We will be serialising a 25 handicap senior’s journey with ES coaching and Trackman data. We just filmed the first session and it is jaw dropping!

    Great advice. Reminds me of Brian Sparks who was the pro at my club many years ago. Great guy who studied the swing in depth.

      Indeed Brian founded Easiest Swing and spent his entire life developing it and training other pros in it too. Sadly Brian passed away in 2022 but two of us who are family and the rest of our team carry his legacy on.

      @sscully67 I’ve been enjoying the Precept Laddie made by Bridgestone and some of the low compression Wilson balls - Zip, Duo, Profile and Boost.

      Thank you for the suggestions. They cost more, but the Titleist AVX has improved my game. But I didn’t use them until I could get through a round without losing a ball or two.

    I wish you would have kept the head-on camera shot on at least one of your swings. It is difficult to see your head movement with the rear angle camera shot. I know that I have to try something different because I get terrible distance on my shots. I did get out to the course today on December 7th, which is very unusual for South Dakota. I shot 42, which is about my handicap for nine holes, but my distance was awful. The only thing that saved me was that I was hitting it pretty straight. It was 59 degrees F, which was over twenty degrees above normal. Keep up the good lessons.

      Suggest you get a copy of Ernest Jones book “Swing the Clubhead” It’s an old book but it forms the foundation of many methods including ES he was a golf pro who lost part of his leg in the First World War.

    Hello Phil, what driver and shaft do you use.

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  Місяць тому

      I use a 10 degree TSI3 Titleist an inch longer than standard with a stiff shaft. Critical though that you have your driver matched to your swing.

    I am apparently stuck in keeping my head still ‘hell’. I will give this a go. The only way I get my swing speed up into the 90’s or occasionally see 100mph is with the speed sticks. Probably NOT keeping my head still then. 🤦‍♂️

    Saguto golf has a simpler easier system shifting your weight on to your right foot then you have to move back.
    Which is much harder for older player's
    Even Russell Heritage has moved to the Ben Hogan swing.

    Would you say that is a good practice with irons as eell

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  Місяць тому

      Less so, as you have plenty of loft on an iron and you are usually hitting it from further back in the stance.

    I am a senior golfer 85 mph with driver max. I always get 4500 spin with it and loosing distance, no hook or slice pretty much straight, older driver 07 burner draw any suggestions to get more yardage, tried newer drivers but get same results.

      85mph you lucky bogger, 64 and I’m slower than that, still keep mid single figures though.

      ... if you are spinning it that much you are likely to be hitting down on the ball... from this video, focus on the free relaxed movement on the backswing... have fun!...😊

    • @derekwhyle1884
      @derekwhyle1884 Місяць тому +2

      How do you know you’re losing distance ? Compared with what ? How are you measuring the 4500 spin and clubhead speed ? What’s your attack angle ? I think you need to go and have a fitting at your nearest outlet with a trackman and a professional fitter who will be able to verify your readings and suggest where your problems lie and whether it equipment or technique or maybe you don’t have the problems you think you have.

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  Місяць тому

      4500 rpm is too much spin 85 mph clubhead speed is average to good so it sounds like the launch angle and loft are your problem. Try another clubfitting and see if they can get you launching the ball on a good angle and reduce spin. Add in the elements from this video and I bet you’ll add plenty of yards. Good luck!!

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  Місяць тому

      Look again and compare against the background. You may well be right that it was less movement than the other two shots but it definitely wasn’t “head still”

  • @sharonphan3349
    @sharonphan3349 Місяць тому +2

    How does the average golfer hit this far. Your club head speed is 100+ the average golfers club head speed is 85 to 90.

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  Місяць тому +1

      The average golfer is not a scratch golfer. So the average golfer is unlikely to hit this far, but if they follow the advice they may get a better angle of attack, an improved trajectory and add 5-10mph to their speed

    I’d say that spin rate is a huge worry, your leaving 25 easy yards on the table by not getting that down to 22-2500. On a windy day that shot isn’t going over 220.

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  Місяць тому +1

      Spot on - I prefer to spin it around 2200 which I do on my best drives.

    Modern clubs including the driver are designed to get the ball in the air,professional golfers hit down on the ball by an average of 1.4*🤔if you look at what your advocating your swaying off the ball by at least 6” your lucky your even making contact

      Ian, quite an ignorant comment. Pro golfers have 115 mph+ clubhead speed, so they can afford to hit down slightly to control the drives better.
