Woo managed to beat it this time around! Took a few extra tries but after updating my elvsui and fixing my other aura (Think the feral one was messing with it or was out of date) it all worked! Thanks again for this guide, it really helped me get the appearance!

The biggest problem is not Kruul and Varris. It's VELEN! His positioning is horrible. This old bastard dies so many times...
Haha easiest way to manage this is to drag Variss in P1 onto Velen and you can pick everything up easily with Thrash/Swipe as the adds will be going to where you currently have Variss. And in P2 if you pick the adds up when they spawn and move them away he can't get hit with netherstorm.

I wish I had Trash relics, because nether horrors were RNG for me - if the Trash proced, they just vanished. If it didn't proc... well, i got rekted.

Great video Man. I’m on 80 wipes but I feel I’m getting closer. Do you use mangle a lot in phase two? Or would you recommend sticking with mangle/swipe pretty much?
In my P2 I spent the majority of it running around spamming thrash/swipe. I should have been using Mangle on Kruul when the the adds weren't up and smashing a few mauls into him but I was way to fixated on other things (you can see in a lot of moments I was raged capped for ages waiting to dump it into defensive when needed). So when they are no adds up use it, otherwise just stick with trash and swipe to get the adds down, keep damage on Kruul.

This is the best video explanation of this fight. I’m at 923 but have skimped on the consumables and I think that has really hurt me. I don’t seem to do enough DPS to get out of Phase 1, eventually getting overwhelmed. I’ve been playing since vanilla and this is by far the most frustrating thing I’ve done in WoW. I’ll load up and spend some time tonight on it. 10k nethershards so I have plenty of chances.

What is the add on that shows the Annihilate icon, the timers for boss casts, etc. Oh - also the decay. Its all the stuff on the upper left of the screen.

The super OPness of luffa is not just the range, it's really the increased damage. it's the difference between killing the nether before they get to you , and them staying up long enough to hit you for a couple stack possibly killing you outright :/
BTW, what are you using that makes your trash have no cd? Oo I have to wait 5 sec in between each...
Yeh dude I had 100% cheese factor in this as I mention with Eko and Luffas. Though re the damage increase now you will have easily enough damage at 940/50 ilvl now the damage isn't as huge a deal - don't get me wrong it still certainly helps but the range makes life so much easier. It's when Incarn is up you can just spam thrash =)
Hey man, would you recommend about a ~4 ilvl loss to wear 4pc t20, or gear that's perfectly stated instead? Next mage tower could take months thanks to Blizzard's idiotic decision to remove chests from currency hand ins. Without MOU the bonus ilvl is kind of negated now. Maybe I have to wait to severely out gear it since I keep getting shit legendaries. Also, would fury of nature+brambles be worth the rage talent because brambles will slighly heal and hit for more with fury of nature 30%.
Yeh I would take your 4pc > over the 4ilvl's certainly worth it. Yeh Mage Tower is moving stupidly slow now with that great decision >
Thanks for your reply. I don't have to go bramble+cloak anymore, I was lucky enough to get Eko today, so I will be using Eko+Skysec when mage is next up. Stats are about: 919-920ilvl Mastery 15% Vers 20% Crit 20% haste 13% t20 4pc, my trinkets are a little meh, 915+ weapon only but they are 3 thrash relics, atm I am choosing a 905+ moonglaive one and a 935 alchemist stone. I've been trying to get better trinks via argunite but sadly even the stat sticks one keep rolling haste. I have enough shards for 200+ attempts, but I also need to do my feral one in the same cycle so I hope it's less than 200. Anyway man, I think I am set, mage tower should be up this week, btw do you plan to do a feral tower guide?
Mate you should smash it, grats on Eko btw =) that will make your life a hell of a lot easier in there. Moonglaive will be awesome in there. All it'll come down to for you is execution!! Yup, I plan to L2P feral this week (I have no idea atm) then knock it over once the mage tower pops. Then I'll make a noob guide for the challenge as feral for other noob ferals like me who just want the cool kitty form. I think with Brutal Slash in it's current form it shouldn't be too bad to get through tbh
10th-11th go I got it. It was still quite hard p2, but I had to try make sure I used orbs whenever I felt even slightly a bit worried. I managed to get meld and 2 smashes on annis, I fucked up cds on one because I was so worried about being knocked off. I would definitely say the BIGGEST tip is don't HOARD THE ORBS. I actually died on 3% though when I decided to go for an orb on the green, I laughed because I knew I was going to get it eventually. I was closing my eyes nearly at the end, heart racing, just mashing keys lol. To be honest if I didn't have EKO I don't think I'd be able to do it, it's a shame how hard it is to get specific legendaries in this game especially for alts.

I was overly scared going in after I was done with pala and monk with my druid equipped with luffa and balance ring impeccable fel essence. Went once at night just to test it for giggles without flask drums etc and I 1 shot the boss. It was an absolute joke. I literally ran in circles around his aura and spammed thrash swipe and few occasional moonfires on eyes. Infernals never even attack with that 16 yd thrash that slows and the nether adds and boss are always getting disoriented with the roar on cd. I even specced Lunar Beam as talent for sustain because of the ursol removal I thought it'd help and I didn't even have to use it.
What's your ilvl?
finally geared up all my alts enough to do these challenges. I managed to do 8 specs in total across 3 alts including 3 of the druid specs but I just can't get this one done. Lowest I've gotten him was 12mil hp. Even if I manage the annihilates I still drop super low and there's just not enough healing orbs. I don't have any set piece and my only legendaries are for feral and cinidaria, soul of the archdruid and KJ burning wish. Phase 1 is ok the problem is without lufas or the chest I have to just barely step on the aura and thrash and I won't get a stack most of the time but it's hard to keep doing this and swipe so I usually end up with 3 infernals. Im 928ish item lvl. Should I wait for a better legendary? I just can't seem to do it. That or 10/15 item lvls but it's an alt and I don't raid on it so its hard. I've already done this on a brewmaster but monk is my main. This just seems overtuned, I don't understand whats fun about losing 100% of your health every 20s and some mechanic trying to knock you off every 5s
Luffas/Eko make a ridiculous difference no questions. You might be better off trying to play riskier through phase 1 going in and taking 3/4 stacks at time to try and put more damage into Variss to push faster through, going through to P2 with 3 infernals means your dodge, dip, duck, dive and dodge skills need to be on point.
I take it you're running Incarn? I'd advise playing a little more aggressive in P1 and getting into that second phase with only 2 max infernals up. Thrash relics if you don't have them will also help if you're hitting a wall re the damage check in P2.
I might have missed it, but what was your ilvl when doing this? I really want the skin, haven't tried the tank challenge yet. Current ilvl is 914 with tier 20 4set. Think there's any specific trinkets that would be good here?
Hey mate, I was 917 when I completed this with 2 set T20. The only trinket that is of "real" value in here is the Heirloom Trinket with the 10% extra damage to demons proc. Otherwise stat sticks or AHR if you have it are good options, the other one I can think of is from HOV and it's the Gift of Radiance as that would give you another interrupt.
At 914 you have the gear 100% well over it, it'll just be getting comfortable with the encounter and executing it =) Best of luck!!

I do not have luffa or eko I have tried and tried, I am able to damage inquisitor fairly quickly I think, about 40% when the second infernal drops (I'm 910 btw) but then I have no cooldowns for the next pack of horrors I try to incap roar them and they always just cast nether storm anyway if I wait for them to start channeling it I get hit and die... there must be some way to kill them or do I just need luffa or eko and maybe a few more ilev's?
Hey mate, I take you are using ROTS on the first set of Adds then? You want to wait till the horrors have actually started the cast of netherstorm before you incap otherwise they will just straight away re cast it, which sounds like your issue, instead of interrupting and avoiding it all together. Gear is always going to help no doubt, but try and time your incap better, that should solve that issue. Also you can use typhoon if the adds are a huge issue for you as another interrupt for this.
Darkmech TV exactly rots on the first set and incarnation on the second or vice versa, I might try gutteral roar or typhoon to see if I can get past p1 at least, I'm sure timing the incap is my problem maybe I can find a weak aura to show their cast bar thanks for the awesome reply! (Just a quick tip if others are have trouble, I turned down my video settings and it helped a lot, I didn't get it yet but someday!)

I don't understand how you're causing so much damage to Variss so quickly. I have luffas and sephrez and I'm doing the thrash spam outside the circle but i barely get him to half by the time the incarnation is over.
What are your relics doing for you mate? I think I had double or triple trash relics for this. SO the extra damage is pretty large
I'm not sure, lol. I eventually got it, though I think I got lucky with the extra thrash procs in the beginning. Also got luckIER with kruul and the netherhorrors not ganking me with the netherstorm. I then remembered that I didn't even buy any drums for the entire encounter so I realized that was probably a bit of a loss of dps, haha.
what addon is that above your talents that show what talent choice u want for each activity
Addon called Subspec mate, it allows you to set out talents for different things - mythic+, raiding etc so You can just change by 1 click =)

these horrors are not going down as quick as I would like and am stuck in phase one
Pretty good guide for the most part, i seem to lack dps though when it comes.. the few times i have killed variss it takes me like 5-6 min at 926 gear level (Im not really a tank player but would love to get this skin) and also i imported the weak auras for mage tower and they dont seem to work for me, tried a few things like restarting the game, importing them again, nothing seems to work on it. I do have the most up to date version too, Dunno why they wont work.
Hmmm I'm a bit stumped as to why the WA's aren't working for you? Haven't had anyone else have the issue are you copying the whole string from the pastebin link? How many infernals are you going through to Kruul with?
The few times i have, it was with one infernal. as for the weak auras... im quite stumped as well to be honest. When i am importing it... i see what it should look like, but it just never happens or like i said... at random times it will work and not work. did try restarting and importing them again... im wondering if its my elvs ui may be out of date? or maybe my feral WA might be in the way... i dont really know for sure. Going to be updating everything and re doing all my WA before the next mage tower is up again.
Rolled a Druid just because the skin looked bad ass. No legendary drop after 2 weeks at 110. Only have Insigina of the Grand Army and this fight is pretty weird at 917. Luffas at the minimum would make this a snooze fest. After 40 tries I'm calling it.

Just got it at 936 ilvl. Hardly had anytime for WoW the past couple months but still manged to get it with Luffas and Ekowraith. Totally worth the effort.
Just got my high mountain tauren to 110 like 5 days ago. Already 930 ilevel and got the feral mage tower done. This whole time I am hoping mt first legendary is luffa to make this fight a extreme joke...just got luffa today as my first legendary. Really freaking lucky guys. I wish more of you get lucky.

You need to be RIGHT on the edge and you can still hit him with swipe and thrash, you'll look like you're standing in it, but you wont be taking any stacks of aura of decay. WIll take you a little to get used to the positioning but it's doable. If you look up some mage tower guides with no Luffas/Eko, you'll see them doing the same thing =)

I went on forums to give my opinion about that it isnt fair that with these legendaries its so easy and i ate i lots of (noob) Words in my face and even got ban from forums. I'm late a.f in getting this. I failed so many times. I had luffa and the pants to stack 5 times. Before i use to steam roll through the first phase and get shitted on the 2nd phase. But today i had a problem with the first phase. Died like 3 times mostly cause the mobs kept killing my teammate cause i was on top of him. On the 4th try i switched to brambles for extra dmg and i FINALLY BEAT THIS CHALLENGE. I had the dmg since im 950 ilvl i was just bad at mechanics. I remove my basic movement and put strafe on my a and d buttons instead. And most of all DBM is best mod. I use to get knocked off alot but since it tells me to dodge i dodge. So good.

Finally did it. Took about 50 tries.... Problem was p2 and not having cooldowns ready. My tips is to not pop Incarnation untill p2 so you can just nuke Kruul as soon as he spawns

For the life of me I just cannot get this done. I've lost complete track of attempts. Between being tossed off or wiped by nether horrors, beyond frustrating....
How is your thrash on such a low cd?
Probably during my incarn pops dude. Are you dying in P1 or P2? With current gear levels and the NLC you're probably near better to slog it through P1 and then save incarn for P2 and go to town on Kruul quickly. Or if P1 is your big issue pop incarn in P1 if you have chest/luffas and nut variss out quickly, then you should be able to kill Kruul due to ilvl/NLC traits now.
P1 just keeps wiping the floor with me. Sitting @ 932, Luffa/Symbi belt combo, only leggos i've got besides the boots. I've made it past p1 twice, and both times Valen dies on Kruul's entry....
I'm about the same mindset as Day down there and just about to risk it all and have someone do it. I either just can't grasp everything going on and focus or just plain can't do it.
Ok, so I'd moonfire and drag Variss back to Velen start dpsing the usually. When the first set of adds come out pop Incarn and trash spam kite the adds down - then get more dps into Velen still watching your stacks in/out. 2nd set of adds use ROTS they should die easily with ROTS up. Get comfortable getting through P1 - then start learning P2.
The more gear you get the more mistakes you can make, so continue farming gear etc

But seriously, I'm using luffa, chest, even got the Recompiled Guardian Module trinket. I've gotten the second boss down to 13% four times (out of the 80/90 that I've wiped) before I just eat it. Either the two infernals are knocking me off or the aberrations are blowing me up with their arcane crap. I even switched my race from Worgen to Nightelf so I could try using shadowmeld. Still getting face melted at ilvl 925. I'm using your suggestions except for downloading weakauras. That addon confuses the crap out of me and I never use it. Just DBM.
Ok so don't lose hope friend. 80 - 90 wipes doesn't make you bad, I was 150+ on my blood DK when this whole fun tower started for us all. In regards to the infernals there is nothing that can be said other than stop standing in front of them, just watch were they are, get the mage tower WA which will show a shockwave icon when they are casting smash - check your position - and don't be in front of them. Otherwise without the WA watch the cast bar on their head.
Re the Netherhorrors - attempt to push into phase 2 after just killing the netherhorros meaning you won't have to deal with extra's on the next spawn with Kruul, save ROTS if you have too this will blow up a pack quickly. As soon as you have incarn up pop that and you shouldn't have any issues in killing adds whilst it's up. Make sure you're using frenzied regen, orbs, incap roar etc
Be liberal with those damn orbs man, if adds are owning your face grab one, if they are casting netherstorm incap roar to interrupt it. Kite them too you have ridic range so while you're belting into Kruul, stamp roar thrash/swipe spam and kite, the adds really shouldn't be giving that much grief.

Get a 2nd leggo and another 20 ilvls and you will have a MUCH easier time my dude
I'm at 930 and haven't seen Luffas since the start of Legion. I've gotten to phase 2 by pure accident and died, and haven't gotten to it since. Getting a lot of bad luck issues on phase 1 now and without luffas seems like this is almost impossible.

What min dps you need for second phade?
600k+ I would say but in current gear lvls you will be trucking 600k.
as im 917 ilvl i can hardly do 620k----- and as i saw other players they do like 800-1m dmg with 910....
its immpossible for me to do this crappy cm.... im frustrated as hell
All I would do mate is go farm some more gear 10ilvl will make a huge impact. Then work on getting through P1 without using incarn then save incarn for P2 and go ham on Kruul

would love if we could get ur druid elv ui my druid was my main during WoD and recently for legion went monk healer and raid healed thro all of legion so far but with ToS my druid tank is becoming my love again and ur UI is B-E-A-utiful but sadly its not in ur pastebin maby im blinded and cant see it (my honest hope is its me missing it) but if it isnt there could we get a druid tank elv ui upload plz? ty again for the vids they helped me get my druid tank thro a pug norm run of ToS and helped me get it done easily saved my furry arse lol cant wait to try norm and then heroic after reset tomorrow but id love to use ur elv ui and try it with WAs and such

It is possible - it will be really tough though and you'll pretty much need perfect execution. You could start learning the fight now, but my advice would be to far gear and AP
Okay, but 10 minutes I achieved the Legendary called: Fury of Nature and my ilvl is 906. Should it be easier now?
I did try it yesterday with this legendary, but I constantly died because of netherstorm and I'm not really sure how to kill them fast with that thrash cooldown
You wanna save ROTS for the nether horrors they will melt. Get a second legendary, the stats alone will be a huge boost to you.

This challenge is very very very much about your comfort levels in the fight. Having best leggos makes this stupidly easier, but all up you just need to get comfortable in dodging, when to set off orbs, interrupting and not shitting your pants when you get to low HP on Kruul. My advice start trying friendo!!
I plan to when the tower is up. I have Ekowraith thankfully but I'm still worried that I'll find nothing but frustration here instead of a challenge :(

impossible shit.. infernals always spawn same time as arcane mobs and boss then drain life and gets pushed from platform or die by everything
Focus target and focus macro so you don't need to stress on life drains and getting an interrupt. Ignore the infernals in regards to damaging them, they mean nothing, the only thing you need to do with the infernal is just don't stand in front of it when it casts smash, if one spawns when the adds spawn that means nothing, just don't stand in front of it.

How are you supposed to interrupt the nether horrors after the cast and during the channel? The damage is so absurd and ticks so fast you just insta-gib if you let the cast finish at all..
I keep getting killed to Mind Rend. I just dont get how you people making your videos make this bullshit challenge look so easy!
Its like the videos you guys post is from the one time that the RNG lined up perfectly in your favor. In my game, absolutely NOTHING is happening like it does in the vids.
When the nether horrors start casting use incap roar to stop them casting and burst them down, if you don't have incap up use ROTS on them. Ideally you should still be using incarn for the first wave of adds so you thrash them down, 2nd set you can ROTS them and continue to kite while you do it.
Mind rend stacks don't go over 3, if you have luffas and eko you can just stay out of aura of decay all together cept to interrupt drain life. If you don't you'll need to go in and out, but don't go past 3 stacks.
ilvl 931 and have over 100 wipes - currently have Ekos and soul of the archdruid (only 2 legendaries i've gotten). I keep dying on Kruul, he's just so big and takes up so much of my view I either can't see the adds spawn and kill Velen or I don't see his leech spell being cast. Wish there was a way to make things smaller so I can see better. My personal best is 7% before he got his leech off and healed to 20%, then got him down to 10% before I finally died... If I didn't think werebear was so cool looking I'd have moved on.
Now I just want to pick up another game and try again in a week or so
Get the weak auras listed in the description - set to kruul as your focus - when he goes to cast the leech a loud horn will go off and all you then need to do is hit skull bash which you'll have a macro for which will hit your focus target. What resolution are you playing on for Kruul to take up so much of your view that you can't see anything else? 7% Is super close mate, it's just a bit more dps the use of another orb etc and you'll get there.
Darkmech TV 1920/1080 which I know should be big enough. Kruul is just so big... maybe I can try zooming out super far and switch the camera to birds eye view.

Yeh mate, 100% use the weak auras it takes one thing out of the equation for you to worry about. Hear the noise - hit the button lol you can then spend the rest of your time going omg omg omg and you run around trying not to die and getting the adds off Velen. Be liberal with those orbs when you need to, specially when you get to that sub 10% area. GL!
also should I be staying close to Kruul so I can hit him with mangle, or kite him and use thrash and swipe? MT is down now so I'll have to wait a few days to try again
I pretty much kited him and used thrash and swipe to drop him with Incarn, you always want to be moving if you can, you don't face tank him, when you skull bash for an interrupt feel free to mangle but otherwise try and be moving if you're in range use it, otherwise spam swipe and thrash off CD
Im 912 item level with the luffa's and the legs legendary. i have had 80/90 attempts on this challenge, I get past the first boss a few times, but now i cant get passed the first boss? i have no idea what im doing wrong but all i know its frustrating !

Ah kk, so straight up - 908 doesn't make this easy you have to play pretty well at 908 to nail this. Not having EKO and Luffas also makes this harder for you. I wouldn't suggest going above 3 stacks of mind rend.
You kind of have 2 options you could take Galactic Guardian which would probably make your P1 easier, but having the pants and going incarn would be good in P2. How far are you getting into the challenge and what's killing you?
Don't be to down on yourself if you don't get it this cycle, gear makes this easier and easier and easier, if you could farm yourself up to 920 - 930 you'll have a much easier time on the next cycle.
really wish they would tune it down a bit so us casuals can beat it before Battle.
The kind of have tuned it down with the NLC and ilvl scale into ATB and Mythic+ now. That's the tuning side to this, being able to push through phases quicker and survive easier. Just keep trying it, I'm not even shitting you when I tell you this challenge is all just about repetition.
45 wipes can get to P2 about 70% of the time but Kruul is too tough on this class for me
Got it after 67 wipes.
all I can say is all I learned is:
1. open with moonfire, pot (prolonged power), incarn - thrash through full duration of incarn (interrupt life drain) this should destroy first lot of adds (take out eyes as they apear)
2. second add spawn pop ROTS smash them down, keep moon fire dot inquisitor.
as soon as Kruul appears hit drunmbs and keep any orbs in site forneeded heal/stun.
Interupt the twisted reflection remember shadow meld for first ahninilate if you have it
the reason I try to burn Inquisitor hard is to limit me to 1 infernal for phase 2
keep going over and over it still feels more like luck than skill at times

Darkmech at the moment the infernals... they get me cause I focus on kruul and getting twisting reflection off him I look away from the infernals and boom off the edge but I'm running the roar not charge might have to get is for that chance it will happen

LOL saying that this is easy is like saying i'm an awesome player and everyone else are noobs. This is NOT easy. I've seen druids with 950 ilvl wipe over and over on this one. Phase 1 is easy, but Phase 2 is ALL based on LUCK nothing else. If your RNG is fucked and you're unluckly you CAN NOT beat the encounter nomatter what you do. For instance if you're unluckly you can have him cast twisting nether 2 times in a row and...oh your interrupt and stuns are on cd, wipe. Another exsample if you go into phase 2 with to many elementals and nether thingys up it's game over. Another exsample If Valen don't give you some healing obs it's game over. So phase 2 is 100% LUCK nothing else.
Prolly some context helps, the druid with the right legendary set up which I say in the video is easier than the majority of tanks for this challenge. You literally run around spamming thrash.
I have never, ever, seen twisted reflections on a back to back cast from an INTERRUPT - if you stun a twisted reflections, he will back it up with another cast 100%, but if you INTERRUPT the cast he will NOT back to back cast it. That's not RNG. If you're going into P2 with too many infernals up, that's a dps issue not RNG. The orbs are spawned from a timer too, Phase 2 isn't 100% luck at all, it's just paying attention.
Darkmech Dude i have had twisted reflections beeing cast back to back eventhough i interruped him.. Atleast 5 or 6 times that happened to me
Twisted reflections is on a timer dude there is a weakaura to track it. If you use an interrupt - skull bash, mind freeze, pummel it will set the internal cooldown timer off on twisted reflections. If you stun it for an interrupt - incap roar, asphyxiate, shockwave it will stop the cast but cause a back to back channel. I've done the tower on every tank class and haven't seen anything different, I've helped other people get it and I've never seen "5 back to back casts" when using an actual spell interrupt. I think you're probably using a stun to interrupt the cast or an orb etc hence your back to back casts - unless your tower is just bugged compared to everyone elses.
I don't know if my tower was bugged, what i do know is that he casted twisted reflections and i interrupted it with skull bash and 5 secs. laster he casted it again. And like i said this has happend 4-5 times for me
This mage tower thing is dog shit, nothing but ilvl stroking , wish it was to do with actual skill,.... the bear form is awesome but this game pisses me off to no fucking end and I’ve now given up on this trash, guess I’ll be the only bear bear in next exp.....
