So what was the issue if not dirt in the seal? I have only seen that type of burning rubber from a cracked/collapsed spider, or a collapsed inner bearing. I have found that if the bearings have moisture in them and the machine is left idle for a while the bearing can seize but you can usually free it up with force. Did you check if the drum is running concentrically? if it is just rubbing on one side then I would guess broken spider. I had one once where a chipboard screw was wedged between the tub and drum, nothing would free it and I only found out what it was once I had cut the front off: sealed tub!
Thanks Owen, initially I thought the Bearings had seized as the Drum would not budge at all, but once the door seal was removed the Drum spun freely with no play at all and no Spider play either. I assume the machine had been overloaded with whatever was pressing on the door seal thus causing friction between the Drum and the Seal. asked the owner to keep me updated. 😀

Lasted a couple of days Owen then started Smoking. The Seal is still rubbing on the Drum so the unit was scrapped.

@@green-crocs-fixes1520 I got told by tech it would be cheaper to buy a new machine.
