Brukernavn wow l looked at the location from your Google maps post l never realized how big Norway is it's coast appears longer than North Americas coast from Canada to Florida. Lol a little off topic but hey l learned something today.. Great video too.!
Maps don't usually represent the true sizes of countries relative to each other because it's hard to accurately portray a 3D globe on a 2D map, but here's how big Norway is compared to USA :) www.slowtrav.com/blog/chiocciola/version5.jpg
Brukernavn yes I understand that and actually the one i was looking at was scaled terribly as l looked at some others after l commented last time.. Keep up the good work 😊🇺🇸 oh l just noticed the overlay you linked thanks
I'm in Indiana and I've been whale watching 2 times in my life. Don't be afraid to go out on vacation and make it part of your trip! The first was whale watching in Seattle for orcas on my birthday. The second was in Boston for humpbacks when I went to see a concert for my brother. It's an amazing experience and you won't regret it.
Never say never. There is much life to live within your dreams. Anything you want is at your own will. Your will is your way. I hope you’re sitting on these very waters one day. Reach for your dreams!
Now I understand why legends of Kraken and other sea monsters were born. At minute 1:05 this 4/5 whales may seemed like a unique single indefinite sea monster for ancient northern fishermen and travelers.....so legends could take life!
I was about to say "Wot, no screaming and screeching?!" ... and then there's that polite "Hoo-yoo!". Which is nothing like the headaches that normally come from any vid in which humans encounter marine mammals. Thankyou, Norway!
This is my absolute favorite whale video on UA-cam. Icy scenery so beautiful you can just feel the cold, a pastel pink horizon, and no raucous, screaming humans. Just two wonderstruck fishermen and one respectful, “woo-hoo!” And naturally Norwegian whales, of course. 🐋💞✨☺️
This is one of the coolest things I've seen on YT. Damn I keep rewinding to 1:08 - that thing's fin!!! There isn't a word for it other than humbling. Fack!
What an incredible experience! There is so much beauty in this world and I’m not just talking about scenery but everything around us. But what a unique experience you guys had, the whales are very clever, they would have been watching you. They could have very easily come up right beneath your boat but it looks like they wanted to “play around” and show you what they can do so instead of upturning your boat, they gave you a display RIGHT next to you. By the way, you live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I am totally addicted to watching videos on Norway, breathtaking and jaw dropping.
I love the northern Norwegian humor. It must be remembered that in the old days it was not unusual for fishermen to lose their lives in bad weather out at sea. We in Norway say "A laugh prolongs life" Someone from northern Norway might say "A laugh is necessary to cope with life" Just some thoughts from someone from further south in Norway.
I recognized the “swearing “ word in Norwegian. When I shipped out with Exxon, we put in next to the Stauvanger, a Norwegian ship. Some of our crew and the Norwegian crew spent someshore time together. Very nice folks! Gynn was the female then Odgear, Lars . They used “fee fon “ a lot! Not sure what it means but it spicy! lol
"fy faen" is pretty equivalent to "fuckin' hell". "Fy" is a word you use to berate children when they are doing something bad, and "faen" means Satan. Basically, they are scolding the devil.
I visited a Norwegian friend in Jonsvonnett (sp) it’s out on the countryside from Trondheim. I remember the headline was warning of a “slagbiyourn” (sp) it meant BEAR 🐻!!!!!!!
@@dianebyers5704 Slagbjørn is a term used about a bear that has already attacked people or livestock. It translates to "punch bear" or "hit bear". Hope you had a good time in Norway 😊
Brukernavn yes! I know. That and a few curse words I learned from my Norwegian friends. I was in Norway years ago. I stayed trondheim for awhile. My friend lived in Jonesvonette. The spelling is wrong. It was way out in the country. We went out on the hills looking for titaberries. At the time, a slagbjorn was in the area causing problems. Norway was beautiful. I stayed on Denmark for a month or so. I hear the immigration problem has changed it so much. Sweden is really in bad shape . The Norwegian ships were the best. Tankers are orange and white. I knew quite a few seamen male and female. Good old Days!
Wow! Beautiful! so lucky to live so close to something SO amazing and beautiful! I will never in my life see something like that in person. things people take for granted.
By the way the title reads I thought the men were hunting the whales and that made me mad. I am glad I watched it and now know the title reads wrong. Thank you for such a beautiful site!

Bubbles in combination with humpbacks is a sign for lunge feeding. The whales create a net of bubbles to circle the fish and then they catch it by swimming to the surface with open mouths😉

They're bubble netting! I saw a pod do this slightly differently off of Wrangle, Alaska. It was fascinating and incredible, although whale breath is pretty fearsome.
Here (indian ocean) they come to have their babies and unfortunately are chased entire days by disgusting tourist boats. Glad to see them doing great and in peace like that
is that supposed to be a summer's midnight, where sun never sets, or winters midday where sun never shows up? :D Norway looks to be beautiful and I dream of doing a bicycle trip from central europe all the way to the north of norway one day. This was in November, the colors in the sky are typical for the starting period of the polar night. You can get fined if you act irresponsibly near the whales, best bet is to book a tour with a whale safari company. They know where you have the best chance of seeing them. Notice that the guys in the video had turned off their engine and just floated there to not disturb the whales.
