I'm a 50 year old woman who's in remission from chronic Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was on a weekly biologic injectible medication "Enbrel," with other prescriptions like Celebrex, Methotrexate, Tramadol & Prednisone at times that made my immune system sick and my body obese & weak starting at the age of 27. I started eating a ketogenic lifestyle in September 2019, and now I'm mainly carnivore "Ketovore." This way of eating is the only thing that has helped my weight loss of 60lbs, severe pain, inflammation & metobolic health. Also, I started implementing lifting heavy weights, strength training & balance exercises 4 times a week last April. It has been a new life for me! You can seek your true health every day, starting with what you eat/drink & don't eat/drink. Thank you for leading the way to true metabolic health. Christine Peters

A few years ago a doctor told me I should be drinking my weight in ounces of water. I researched it and found out the "this many ounces a day" thing came from a guy's book. I can't remember who he was, but he wasn't a scientist or a doctor but a health coach of some sort. Somehow the recommendations in his book reached the medical community and it got all mixed up into being a "fact" that everyone should do. This is why it's important for us all to research everythign we hear or read.

I went outside source to have extensive bloodwork, found after years of symptoms with no answers. I was diagnosed with hashimotos. With that diagnosis, I insisted on an ultrasound. Found I have a solid -nodule on my thyroid. Waiting now to have a biopsy.

Dr. Berry and Neisha: There is a movie called 'First Do No Harm' about a boy who contracted epilepsy. Regular doctors wanted to use drugs and surgery on him. The parents resisted it and sought a specialist at John's Hopkins who cured the boy by putting him on a Ketogenic diet. It's a true story. If you haven't seen the movie, I think you should check it out! Medical science KNOWS about the Ketogenic diet but for some reason (money?) won't prescribe it. The Movie stars, Meryl Streep, Fred Ward, and Seth Adkins.

Newbie- who said they have sinus issues on carnivore might be experiencing histamine intolerance if eating aged cheeses, or smoked meats. I had been baking my meats for a year on carnivore. Then we bought my hubby a smoker and he started to smoke my steaks daily. After a few months I had all the symptoms of histamine intolerance. As soon as went back to baking meats the symptoms disappeared! So watch out eating smoked meats! Anything aged and eating too often can start a histamine intolerance. It’s not carnivore itself. Just the aging process. Like fermentation of plants can cause it too!

    1. LDL (low-density lipoprotein) is not cholesterol but one of transporter particle types which transport fats, fat soluble vitamins and cholesterol. And cholesterOL is not a lipid (nor fat), but a special unsaturated alcohOL from one type of gonane named cholestane, contrary to mainstream lies designed to muddy the waters. LDL is either healthy LDL which contains 10% fat or more or (most likely) dangerous small, dense LDL which is 7% fat.
    2. In your blood tests you will see ‘LDL “cholesterol”’ and ‘triglycerides’. What is hidden behind this ‘triglycerides’ term are particles very similar to LDL, but bigger. One of them transport huge amounts of exogenous fats (from the intestines) to the liver, and adipose, skeletal and cardiac cells, and are called chylomicrons, which consist of 95% fat (triglycerides). Then there are VLDL (very-low-density lipoprotein) particles which transport fat from liver to other organs and which are 70% fat (type 1) to 50% fat (type 2). Lastly, there are IDL (intermediate-density lipoprotein) particles which temporarily form from VLDL particles and are 20% fat.
All these triglyceride rich particles (lipoproteins), hiding behind codename ‘triglycerides’ in blood tests, are obviously very important as they transport huge amounts of fat around the body, so why are elevated ‘triglycerides’ dangerous? It’s because huge fasting elevation happens only in diseased bodies screwed by “balanced diet”. Here is how...
In healthy body, once triglyceride transporting particle comes to its destination, it is efficiently emptied of its’ triglycerides cargo in the process called lipolysis (or hydrolysis). Successfully emptied VLDL particles are then positively recognized and rapidly converted down to LDL or returned to the liver to be completely removed from circulation. Empty chylomicrons on the other hand do not get converted to LDL, but are also rapidly removed or reused without causing any damage. In diseased body, however, the process of lipolysis is inefficient (or even nonexistent sometimes) and partially emptied particles - so called VLDL remnants and chylomicron remnants - continue to circulate in blood for prolonged period of time waiting to be emptied which leads to them being changed and no longer recognizable or susceptible to further lipolysis. In other words, in metabolic syndrome, the accumulation of these changed remnants is behind highly elevated ‘triglycerides’ in blood tests and are strong predictors of risk for cardiovascular disease.
    3. LDL particles are important transporters of triglycerides too, especially in keto and carnivore dieters. Mainstream liars want you to believe that the only way for LDL to exist is via lipolysis of VLDL particles created by the liver. And then, they say, after VLDL delivers all triglycerides and gets converted to LDL, it’s primary role from that point on is to deliver cholesterol where needed. And this is not true. In normolipidemic individuals, 38% of plasma LDL is secreted directly from the liver and these lipoproteins are large and medium-sized - and that means they are full of triglycerides waiting to be delivered! And the percentage of directly produced LDL particles decreases as production of VLDL by the liver increases. (Google is hiding this knowledge from you; it is to be found in the following paper: “The crucial roles of apolipoproteins E and C-III in apoB lipoprotein metabolism in normolipidemia and hypertriglyceridemia” by Frank M. Sacks.) Despite of tons of fats being ingested, healthy ketogenic dieters very often experience a huge drop in triglycerides (i.e., VLDL and chylomicrons), but a huge rise in LDL level! This is because the number of lipoproteins that carry that exogenous (eaten) fat around must go up somewhere. It is known in literature that high LDL together with low triglycerides means large LDL particles - because all the fat has to be packed somewhere for delivery. These large LDL particles are known as non-atherogenic.
    4. And finally, there’s a world of difference between elevated LDL and triglyceride levels because of accumulation of dangerous abnormal and oxidized atherogenic lipoprotein particles in blood in metabolic syndrome - as described earlier - and elevated LDL levels in ketogenic and carnivore diets when lipolysis works perfectly and when the body needs huge number of transporter particles to distribute all that ingested fats for energy.

Re: Joseph’s question regarding a sore throat for a few minutes with the first few bites of food following a 36 hour fast. Dr Berry stated he’s never heard of this. This happens to me every time with any fast longer than 24 hours. It’s an intense soreness or irritation in the soft palate area for maybe 5 minutes or less upon resuming eating. I’ve seen many people on TFM Facebook page mention this happens to them too. Nothing bad happens, but no one seems to know why it happens.

Yep. Every time I do longer than 24-32 hour fast, it causes pain on the roof of my mouth and back to my throat when I resume eating.

I have recently had a moderate prolapse woman parts. I'm pretty healthy & fit. I went keto a year ago - mostly fish, veggies, eggs, butter. I was actually shocked when it happened. But now that I understand my 50 years of being vegan vegetarian may have given me weaker tissues. Do you think this will naturally heal with a more protein fat based diet? Thanks! Love you guys. Thanks for all you do!

I think making your own bone broth, especially grass fed beef bone broth if you can, is really beneficial for healing tissue. Also, it’s great to go to a pelvic PT if you can. I go right now for postpartum issues from my third baby, and it’s really great.

If you have an instapot, 4 hours with beef bones will get you an amazing, gelatinous broth.

You are doing the best thing. Hang in there! Move your body. Take walks. Go to your dining room, grab a chair, then sit down and stand up 10 times without using your arms. As you heal, you will feel like doing more.

    • @patriciacarlyle9456
      @patriciacarlyle9456 5 місяців тому

As terrimcallister8928 says, do the chair sits. These are important for leg strength and balance. Start off by doing3-5 the first day and add more as you can. Do this in a controlled slower stand up and sit down. When you feel strong doing 10 or more you can start to go a bit faster. Keep some slow ones also. Most important thing is to learn how to get up from floor using your legs only

I have every symptom of anemia, including chest pain, difficulty breathing, blurry vision, very pale and weak, but because my CBC was normal at the ER {heart attack ruled out on all 3 visits}she won't test. I've been in and out of the emergency four times in the past three weeks. I googled and quickly found all kinds of information on normal CBC but still anemic . What other tests should I be getting? I tried to post this in the chat with some money attached but it didn't seem to go through.
