Here's Why Buying a Used Kiesel Guitar is a Better Deal!

- Lately it seems like 8 string guitars are becoming less popular, and a telling sign was the instruments that were released at NAMM 2024 by the major metal guitar manufacturers. From what I can tell, the baritone guitar is being used more and more in the various metal genres. I think baritone guitars are great, but in my opinion you lose some of the higher register that the 8 string guitar offers. I don't plan on quitting 8 string guitar any time soon, so I thought I would share my 8 string guitar buying experience with you here and how everything panned out for me in early 2024. Enjoy!

I’m the guy who let that Kiesel go! I’m glad it made its way into one of your videos! The money I got from this went towards my new build which is a 7 string Crescent with a reverse monster burst finish on flamed maple. I absolutely love it and it definitely suits me better than this 8 string A2. I’m glad that you specifically were the one to have picked it up!

I was lucky enough to get a Kiesel Aries 6 hipshot hardtail for $600 off of Craigslist last year. Such an absolute luxury!!
Brought that Kiesel to my professional shredder buddy, he fell in love with it, he went straight to reverb and bought his own, super cheap off of reverb! This guy has multiple Les pauls, PRS's worth thousands of dollars, THE George Lynch esp, Jackson's, Kramer's.. he swears that new used Kiesel is by far his favorite guitar!

I had trouble getting 1300 for an 1800 Kiesel that was less than a year old. I'll just hold onto it for now.

Great deal on that 8 string! Love Kiesel have 13 with #14 in the works. How do you like the A2? I have one being built and curious how it plays compared to your Vader? Is the radius neck heel noticeable?
Woah dude, 14 Kiesels, that's epic. The A2 is great, it's super lightweight thanks to the ash body. I do not notice the neck heel, but I prefer neck through if possible. I think it plays as good as my Vader V8X. The neck on the Vader is fatter, which I like, but it's nice to have some variation in my guitars. I feel like if they were all the same, it wouldn't be as much fun to play them all.

I've bought a lot of in-stocks and used Kiesels. After many years of doing that, I finally had some custom orders put in. I have a Hyperdrive in rainbow sparkle, and a 5 string Zeus Multiscale bass with the tritium pickups that were custom made in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
Sadly, my ZM7 I got as an in-stock has had a neck failure where the 5 piece neck is delaminating, and I'm just outside of their 5 year warranty. I've treated that guitar really well over the years, so I'm really disappointed. There's some optimism in me that I won't get too beat up by whatever price they'll ask to correct it, but it does make me nervous for my other headless Kiesels that I have.
Yo dude, the rainbow sparkle Hyperdrive sounds nuts, what a cool guitar. I had a Carvin fatboy that I played a lot on the channel that had a little bit of that de-lamination around the frets, nothing crazy, but it was an older guitar and for some reason with the neck lacquer that happens with some of the Kiesels. As long as the guitar plays well still, I wouldn't worry about it, but I understand wanting to keep the guitar in great condition. I think they make great guitars and they do it consistently.
I look used for Kiesels all the time you can find some amazing deals, I've gotten lucky and snagged two kiesels for an insane deal one is an Aries Neck-through and another is a Vader Multiscale 8 string probably my favorite guitars that I own just behind my strandberg!
They're awesome guitars and you can get them for a great price which is sweet! Strandbergs are cool too, love those enduro necks!
Used Carvin guitars 🎸 are great also..I have 2 Carvin guitars I bought brand new. Before they changed the name to Kiesel.

I have but haven't committed to getting one. The Singularity 8 string models look awesome! I really like the red one.
Much better … Kiesels have NO resale value … 3k guitar will sale for 1000 on used market
I'm not sure they sell for 1/3 of the original price. I've seen them more often in the range of 60 to 70% resale value, which is around what I paid for the guitar in the video. I think it's because they're custom instruments, so the guitar player paying the initial build price is going to pay more, because it's exactly the options that they want. Another guitar playing that buys that guitar second hand may not see the value in that instrument, which is why they sell for less.
