RESPECT! thank you for showing this! This pedal still remains in my guitarsenal. It saved our asses on South American tours, when we had to use the FX return when we didn’t have our normal backline. And totally blew people away. It’s dark when through the Fx loop or power amp so that’s where the OD pedals shine. Also switching the switch to make Blue high gain and Red lower gain. I’ll be showing how I boost a 5150, and how we put LovePedal / Klon type of pedals in to it in to the Fx loop on the ToneConsultant -HomeWreckerPickups channel. One last thing. For us we turned off the treble cranked the mids. Lows at 1oclock and presence was our brightness
Say what you will about modelers but there's something about audio running through circuitry. I think all the filtering and EQ helps your signal even in a digital setup. This would be a great addition to a setup without am "amp."
I’ve always been a fan of the ridiculous, oversized drive pedal trend of the 90’s/00’s. I tried this one, a Hughes & Kettner one, and ended up with a Blackstar dual drive that I still have and love! There’s something cool about the architecture of them, aiming to be closer to an amp preamp instead of just overdrive.
Man, i was so dissapointed by mine when I got it.Ended up being a staple for a band I live sessioned for on bass wierdly enough lol. Had a modded bottle rocket as well.
I have this pedal and I love it, but it's definitely not for tight metal rhythm chugga chugga's. Blues is good, solo channel is for the midrangy melodic solo's. The case resembles a rectifier, but its sound is nothing like it.

i also have the blackstar dual. Its insane with EMG's. Like actually gives you that metallica sound.
It's a really impressive device, especially for when it came out...and they kept making them for more than a decade. I think the tone is sweet!

I’ve had a Mesa Dual Recto Recording Pre since the 2000s. Never liked it on guitar, but OMG did it kick out the gnarliest bass tones.
Yep, their manuals are great. They give setting recommendations and lots of great advice. I always appreciate that.

I thought it sounded pretty close to a rectifier, I think rolling off the bass knob completely might tighten up the rhythm. Thanks for watching dude!
