I'm really interested for the next episode too!
@@Amghannam I have a feeling that the history segment will take longer than physical geography :D
@@raceris7309 Haha, possibly, it is the oldest republic in the world after all!

I’m Samoan and I have friends from Iraq here in California 😊
The last time i was this early, samoa was still using the utc-11 time zone
Same
I believe the airports shown at 3:45 on Savaii are no longer in operation, as when I visited the island I drove to Asau & Salelalonga Airports and they both had notices of closures.
Hahaha! Malo lava! Loved the energy! And appreciated your brave attempt to pronounce the names as best u could... Much alofa ma fa'aaloalo (love & respect) for your efforts in making this vid! Manuia Soifua!
I still remember going to school with a few Samoans (I live in Australia btw) and a Samoan girl instead of saying my name (David) called me Ga'Vika (She told me it was Samoan for David... I don't know I never looked into it.) Anyway Samoan people are very friendly and honestly always willing to joke around with you.
That's awesome..also it's spelled Tavita or Kavika for David in Samoan..
@@sillau9 Ah thank you for the correction. I'm honestly not great at spelling
@@DaveFloatzelloverSimon no worries,lol..you had the saying-sound right
When Keith started playing the ukulele I thought he was gonna do the end credits song 😄
8:23 HAHAHAHHA I love the "Straight Outta Samoa" t-shirt
No one:
Samoans: We’re the people of Tomorrowland y’all
No, Tomorrowland is here in Belgium.
But unless it's daylight savings time, they can't compete with the Line Islanders of Kiribati.
alexxxth why you so pressed for😂
It's also the first country to welcome new years 😂
Im samoan and some of these facts i didnt know about. Also ur pronunciation it good keep it up
Watching this video made me so happy to see how much research you put in to understanding my culture. Huge respect for this channel. By the way your pronunciation of most of the words was spot on.
5:52 so that's where the Rock lives

This is one dedicated country I've ever seen.
So many stars are here and so much tradition.
Nathan Long I agree! Such a rich and beautiful culture
No one the real meaning of tradition unless the visit the South Pacific islands
I agree such a tiny island but they've produced so such greatness. Their culture is still so rich. He failed to mention about Samoans/Polynesians are the greatest & fiercest voyagers. They discovered all of Polynesia using no compass nor tool. Master wayfinders!
@@rarebreed6713 My granduncle, an ole' mariner, shared that he learned how to find islands (100 - 1000 miles away) using the stars. He would point to an area in the Heavens to locate Tonga, Tahiti, and Manu'a islands (the easternmost end of the Samoan archipelago - 360 miles away) Indeed, Master wayfinders! 🇼🇸🙏🇦🇸
I'm not even Samoan but I was so invested i watched the whole thing. Probs cause i live in South Auckland, haha. Even tho im not Samoan, Samoan culture feels like home to me.

1. Why does it seem like everyone on this channel has a boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife except for Paul?
2. Paul should make a series where he reveiws fan countries
Maybe Paul wants to be single? It's not unheard of. Or he may have someone, and they want to keep their relationship private.

🤩🤩🤩oh my gooooooood I am earlyyyyy! Geography now I learned so much about countries because of you guys! I thank you so much!!!❤️❤️❤️
Fun Fact: Since Samoa observes DST in the summer, the time difference between them and American Samoa actually becomes 25 hours.
Why though? It's so close to the equator. Also they started in 2010, meanwhile other countries are trying to get rid of DST :D
Scientist: Time is a illusion
Samoan: Whats that? We are still confused with time
100th like lmao!!!
Also, Greg Louganis was born to a Samoan father and Swedish mother.
Orghh I can't describe how much I love this channel
I meant greetings*
So uh I'm actually supposed to be in online class rn but... *it's time to learn geography now - not later.*
Been looking forward to this episode!
Here a fun fact, Samoa has only been driving on the left since 2009 👏
That must have caused some confusion
19:56 Actually his name is Joe Anoa'i, not Mike Iupati
Greetings Samoa and American Samoa from Russia! 🇷🇺❤🇼🇸❤🇦🇸
Looking at it now...
"Moana" has "Samoa" written all over it :-D
You Smart are
SantomPh Moana draws heavily from Samoan culture in the movie and that’s a fact. Moana uses a lot more Samoan items than any other country I can think of
@@kanyewest184 and what Samoan items are that?
@@dangerislander Moana's Father has Samoan Tattoos, Her red Chief Head piece is Samoan called a Tuiga, The "We Know The Way" song is sung in Tokelauan/Samoan, The intro song with the Disney Castle "Tulou Tagaloa" is in Samoan.
JDouat7 Exactly 🤙🏽 and their time in Motonui is supposed to symbolise the time where the first Polynesians "paused" from exploring different islands and stayed in both Samoa and Tonga, the first Polynesian settled islands. So of course it's going to draw on the original islands
Y'all got me hyped for San Marino and Sao Tome

Also the country with most total cases of coronavirus per million people.

Hi! I'm from Upolu, Samoa. Just found this on UA-cam recommendations and I love how you guys explained everything and your UA-cam channel, but I can't take you guys seriously esp when it comes to you guys saying Samoan words hehehe. Anyhow much love from the islands❤️stay safe

yoooooo Malo Uso really appreciate the effort that you guys have put in this video. I know that our faamatai system is quite confusing, but one fact about that Faamati system is that Dwayne has a matai title which is "Seiuli". Malo cheoooooo
That was really interesting, like really interesting.
Last time I was this early we were asking for The Rock to make an appearance on an episode.
Keith is the best. He keeps everything down to earth.
Thank you, my friend.
I learnt more from this program in the last half hour than any other time in my poor learned NZ, life of my unknown grandmother native Island of Savaii.
My father came from Savaii as a young boy way back around 1909 and in his own words on a banana boat.
My intentions have always been to visit the island of my father's birth but so far this has not happened.
Kia ora from NZ.
Wow thank you for this video I appreciate the time and effort it took to teach about my little island!! at 21:03 I believe the Ava ceremony originated in Fiji. Also the Polynesian Islands each have their own war dance before they do battle :)
