Finally an extremely exaggerated thumbnail that is no clickbait. Truly spectacular!
But how can one stand that calm in front of that inferno? You Icelanders seem not to be afraid of anything at all!

They are actually pretty far away from the source. The heat would be unbearable if they were that close.

Yeah all I could think during those shots was "WHY AREN'T YOU RUNNING?" so they must have been at a safe distance.

They're standing on another mountain. The lava would have to flow down and back up to reach them.
Although I admit I wouldn't consider a mountain "safe" while another mountain beside it is violently exploding.

I've never considered what a massive lava flow sounds like. I always thought it would sound more "sticky" and "crackling," but it actually sounds a lot like water at least in large amounts. I would never have known that if you had included epic orchestral music like most creators do. Seriously, thanks so much for leaving music out of it and just showing us the raw footage.

That was pretty intense. So from what i could see, there was a lake inside of the caldera, then some event happened thst caused an instability, maybe a collapse, or a sudden release of gas pressure forcing more magma volume...and it overwhelmed the walls. Then as it overtook the wall it eroded the sides like a breaking dam allowing more volume to escape.

We (and especially Icelanders) are lucky that this volcanic eruption can be enjoyed as a spectacle. No homes were in harm's way (except for one farm, IIRC - none of coastal villages are endangered, I believe), and no infrastructure save for one rather important road and optic cables which are now buried deeply enough to be safe from lava flowing over them.
