Perfect way to watch. The UA-cam analytics show that there is an average of 2 min watch time so I double time them to get as much content in as possible and I am still way over the 2 min mark.
I love your color palette and how you get such great mixes (new shades) with them. I would love to see how you get that 'mottled' look of texture in some areas of your paintings (water drops or alcohol?).
Love your work, it's amazing!! Is that a hard board you are working on? I would love to use MDF and have it cut then gesso the rough side~~~large stretched canvases are so expensive. Warm greeting from Canada!
Thanks for your comment and for watching, Diane. I use stretched canvas that my husband makes for me. I'm not sure I would advise MDF. It's very heavy and it and water don't work well together. Have you tried Dick Blick Art Materials? Look for one of their sales. Good luck in finding the right surface for you.
Thanks for the comment and for watching, Janis. I show the palette in some of the videos. It requires dismantling my tripod and camera setup so I don't do it very often.
Thanks for the comment and for watching. I'm not sure exactly what you are asking concerning barrier layers. Each of my paintings has 10 or more layers. I let each dry before applying the next.
@@karenhalepaintings I thought you put clear glaze between ...I'm sorry I must have misunderstood you before...my bad😏 I let my layers dry but still get blending where I don't want....frustrating...so I started putting a thin layer of matte varnish between layers and it works for me. Thank you for responding. You are one of my favorite artists. 🙋🌹❤️👍
Love your style. I slowed the video down to .5 and it looks more like real time. I enjoy watching you paint.

👋 Karen. Lovely piece today. I finally have paint shoes like you has taken quite a few canvases 🙂
The shoes are kind of fun aren't they?

You hate purple??? It gives a painting such a lovely warm feel.
