I was so fortunate to see these two paintings in person today, and they are truly much more beautiful than they look online. The colors are nuanced and expertly blended. The paintings sing with color and clarity. Karen, you are an artistic master! Thank you again. Bonnie
I am starting my abstract journey by watching you paint and enjoy it so much. Are you staying wet during the entire painting or are you letting it dry at points?
Hi, Thanks so much for watching. I'm glad that you find the videos useful. There are 10+ layers on each painting and I let them dry in between but there is a lot of water movement going on when I am painting. I wish you much success in finding your own voice.
@@karenhalepaintings Thanks, Karen. I heard this before and need to look for one. It looks like you're using a firmer tool than a brush. Good to know!!
@@lauriedevaultart Maybe I misunderstood your question. I did use the striper brush for the black lines but the small color areas are with a small flat brush.
Very very nice painting... thanks a lot.
Thanks for watching!
What fun! Love the colors and finished paintings.
Thank you very much, Deborah.

Lovely, as always! What is/are the tool(s) you are using there for you black fine line markings and detail work? Some kind of pencil or maker?
Thanks, Laurie. The tool is a striper brush. They are used a lot for car paint detail work.

No, you understood fine! We actually don't see you make those vertical black lines. Thanks again. I learn so much from you!@@karenhalepaintings
