Fluid used is Audi G052145S2
Be sure to turn on jack mode (air suspension/tire change)
Fill plug torque is 27 nm, drain plug is 10 nm

Thank you for this video I talked to Audi dealership 6 months ago about changing the differential oil I have a 2011 A8L 4.2 and they told me you never have to change it well today I just happen to run across your video again someone out there and checked it and lo and behold it was low plus it was a brown color if I have never seen this video I never would have checked it those out there do not listen to Audi dealership because I could have ruined my front end thanks a lot for the video teeth keep it up

Hi Mike, thanks for excellent DIY videos! Do you know if a 2010 A8 D4 with 4.2TDI engine has shared or separate transfer case and front diff?
Sorry no idea on that model with the TDI
@@mikesgarage1518 Apparently the 4.2TDI has always the sport diff, so I guess they're separate.
Thanks for the video ! so my 2013 A8L with the 4.0TT uses common oiling...can I just do the same procedure and add the proper oil type ? or the draining/adding oil works differently on my combined system than the separate one ?
Not sure as I have never done the common oiling one before
Hi can you tell me why are you using G052145S2 oil in both differentials?
I have been told that in the central one I have to use G055145A2 type
My understanding is to use G055145A2 if your transfer case and front differential share oiling and G052145S2 if they are separate. Did you see my transfer case fluid video? At the 1 min mark, I show a chart of some A8 models with shared and separate oiling.
Hi, great video! Do you know the part number for the front differential drain bolt? Mine got striped-it was over tight.
Best I can find is this; parts.audiusa.com/p/Audi_2012_A8-L-Sedan-42L-V8-AT-Quattro/Plug-Differential-Bolt-Drain-Front/48723387/N90281802.html. If you search for "N90281802" it appears on several sites but does not list the A8 under fitment. I find parts like this are difficult to locate however the list I pasted here looks correct.

I asked Audi also about from diff change and they told me not to change...
So much for them servicing it. parts department said it's on the side of the transmission. I Hava a A8 L Quattro 4.2
I couldn't see clear enough where it was from the front in video. Wanna make sure it's front Diff and not transmission plug I'm taking out.

Sorry I do not, my service manual only goes to 2012

@@robertruicu2002 I used Audi G052145S2 for the front and rear differential and G055145A2 for the transfer case. For the transmission I used ZF Lifeguard 8.
