Great stuff.
The short doesn't ever really explain what the hell was the point of it, though. *why* create sleeper bombs? If the goal is to do damage, they'd do a lot more if they actually walked into something vital before detonation, not just at whatever random location they happened to be in. David, Elan, yeah, series ... but which genre? Sci-fi drama or parody? Those disobeying pilots are the biggest bullshit and ruined the whole film form me. Or the suspect person ... in 9:32 they are chasing him thinking it's her but talking about HE (at least in subtitles) ... or as @WhiteRu55ian noticed, this description fits on every women there. ... meh
"The area is to populated, cut HIM off!" "HE's going down the alleyways." Wasn't he wearing the headscarf to pretend to be HER? Great other than that little slight.
I assumed they were going after him because he was with her and they didn't know where she was. Which is why they broke off as soon as they found her. But most likely, the people who made this movie don't have English as their first language, so they slipped up a couple times.
The machines are also pretty stupid. They create an infiltration unit which is indistinguishable from humans, can completely blend in, but occasionally emits blue light for no reason. Also, a suicide bomber robot needs a looooong time warming up before the explosion, emitting a lot of strange light in the process, so its victims have plenty of time to flee...
You have to consider the context of them doing that. There must be an awful lot of overall anger built up in everyone fighting those machines. The result of that is emotional and irrational responses like that, not following command and taking revenge on them where they could.
@@Dr.AnonymousPro Revenge for what? They didn't even have to fight the machines who just wanted their independence. But selfish as humans are they could not give it to them without making trouble first. History repeats itself because people are too dumb to learn from it.

Do they make them, or do they just re-upload them? I think it's the latter. I've seen them re-upload other short films that I saw years ago on another channel, such as Rha.
Oded Fehr...My Maaaan. Loved him in the Mummy as Ardeth Bay...."By putting this on, you have started a chain reaction that could bring about the next apocalypse"..... CLASSIC!! Awesome short by the way.

I really enjoy these DUST films. It's as if these short films could be inserted at the beginning, end, or even the middle of a 2 hour movie. Just enough info for it to make sense and no fluff. Great stuff!
The short film had a good concept, good action sequences and an interesting story. But the magic of this happens at 18:07. That's exactly where true sci fi happens. A machine looks at him recognizing his suffering for the loss. At 17:02 the drone machine inclines his metal body as a signature of condolence for the departure. These exactly are the gentle gestures that makes the story amazing.
This channel is amazing, I can’t stop watching, i start watch Dust videos at 10:00pm, now is 3am and I can’t stop watching, how this channel don’t have 50 millions subscribers
everything was awesome until the soldiers just randomly disrespect their commander 5x for no reason.... that imo almost completely ruined the plot. edit: Nearly 500 likes damn this is my most liked comment lmao, thx fellas
That's what happens when one creates a scene for the sake of creating a scene. It's not an organic culmination of emotions, which is why it's so disjointed and nonsensical.
What a find! I'm thrilled to have discovered this channel and would choose this 18.52 minutes over anything on television! That this is free, absolutely amazes me! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I have watched lots of Dust short films but this is the first one I really wanted to be a full length film very well acted by the main top people and excellent cgi
Wow I can't find words to explain how I feel about watching this movie.Highs and lows of love and really good special effects.Would definitely watch again.
Why DUST videos are not on TV or theaters many are better than star wars or other sci-fi films. Who produces these films and actors , funding and payrolls?
"Do not fire on *_him,_* this area is too populated!" "Sir, dammit, *_he's_* going into the alley! Seems like they should have been referring to him as 'her' and 'she', seeing as how they hadn't realized yet that he had dressed like her to lead them away.
God this is so beautifully done! I've watched this like a dozen times over and I still am awed by it every time! Everything about it! The effects, the story, but the acting was so heart-wrenchingly GOOD! My only complaint? IT'S TOO SHORT!!! I need a longer version with plenty of flashbacks between our two heroes! :=)
This short was really well done. The story's theme as well as some of the music reminded me a lot of the Battlestar Galactica (2004) series, which is always a good thing in my books :)
@Lion Mane Yep, pretty close to the matrix, at the same time a sad allegory to normal people who are put in situations that are considered pure evil...yet we are not talking about evil people per se... I would say inspired in the matrix, with a brilliant allegory to modern conflicts
These movies are masterpieces! Flawless interweaving real life w cgi and strong character, stories with thought provoking themes. Stay strong. Stay safe. Bravo.
Dude how have I NOT heard of this channel before? The whole production is freaking awesome and the story makes you think about love, sacrifice, hatred, heart ache, and longing. Do you guys make full length movies?
Excellent acting by the couple, made it very believable. Just a few issues with an otherwise great short. 1. How was he not killed by the explosion. When the Japanese guy blew up, everyone ran away and still 85 died. His blast was far bigger than hers. 2. The pilots really have a poor grasp of chain of command. Not least when disobeying the order could restart the War.
Also, when he dressed like her to lead them away from her, they thought he _was_ her and chased after. However, they kept referring to him as 'him' and 'he.'
They did. It was called "The Matrix." This story is taken from the early part of the "Animatrix" history, after the first Machine War when the AI's were sequestered in the middle east desert where they could run on solar power. It looks like this guy was crossing the border at the end of the film, maybe to be the first to get integrated with the Machine energy system in hopes of re-meeting his wife?
Binging your channel.... mind blown, i love it! Between this and Black Mirror I'm excited to watch every day when i get home from work. Ten out of ten!!!!

I really would like to see a series based on this.
David, Elan, yeah, series ... but which genre? Sci-fi drama or parody? Those disobeying pilots are the biggest bullshit and ruined the whole film form me. Or the suspect person ... in 9:32 they are chasing him thinking it's her but talking about HE (at least in subtitles) ... or as @WhiteRu55ian noticed, this description fits on every women there. ... meh
To be honest, when she said she was scared, I would have held her. Better to go together than to be alone with that memory.
The guy who disobeyed high command.
*YOU HAD ONE JOB!*
More than one guy, even. Insane.
This was really good! I sometimes think watching DUST short films are much more entertaining than the "boring" films they show on YT.
"The area is to populated, cut HIM off!" "HE's going down the alleyways."
Wasn't he wearing the headscarf to pretend to be HER?
Great other than that little slight.
Absolutely!!
I assumed they were going after him because he was with her and they didn't know where she was. Which is why they broke off as soon as they found her. But most likely, the people who made this movie don't have English as their first language, so they slipped up a couple times.
@@etherraichu 'Machine' may be masculine in Arabic...or it could just be a mistake ;)
In less than 20 minutes this film achieved an unforgettable spectacular story, with top notch visuals!
Those soldiers not following direct commands spoils the whole film for me.
Yeah, but the movie became more interesting....
It happens when human emotions get the better of mediocre minds.
@@Dr.AnonymousPro Revenge for what? They didn't even have to fight the machines who just wanted their independence. But selfish as humans are they could not give it to them without making trouble first. History repeats itself because people are too dumb to learn from it.
The "86 dead" was a stretch. His wife and kid were right below him while everyone else ran away and they lived. Hell, they just stood there.
That got my brow raised too. I could believe it if they said something like "7 dead and dozens injured", but 86 dead? There wasn't even half that in the area visible. Dafuq.
What about the fire and the heat from explosion spreading to building
@@boomboy5546 If they had gone out of the way to display that, then sure. I could hav ea bit more suspension of disbelief. But as it was presented? Nah. Badly done scene.
@@CainMadness fair enough still overall best thing I’ve seen other than a Hollywood movie 😂
Maybe they were talking about conflict wide, and not just from that one bombing?
So many of these short films have the actors and the plot to make full length films out of them. Excellent and I feel I should be paying to see these.
that feel when surprisingly well done sci-fi short film on UA-cam gets you way more emotional than many Hollywood blockbuster films ever could. 😔😫😭 #Seam #Dust #UA-cam #machines #humanity #war #loss #love
This is too good to be a short movie. I don't deserve this.
I'll definitely buy the ticket if it comes to the big screen.
Wow, very moving. Makes you wonder about the difference between human and machine at that point. He wants to stay with her. She tells him to keep away. Both have empathy for the other.
For all the visual splendour the acting is actually amazing ...
much appreciated!
@@dassanie I think it's way above the standard of so many huge budget movies. Great job - it really resonated with me.
whynottalklikeapirat trying to do the same with this : en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jinn_(TV_series) Look for it this summer on Netflix
@@dassanie Interesting. Yeah I'll keep an eye out. I don't think I have seen a proper serious take on the idea of a Jinn yet outside the standard stories, seems like there is some un-explored territory there. I'll be interested to see where you go with it. Best of luck!
that's what I thought! The credits are not very clear (my apologies, if that's stupid of me) while both the MC actors did a phenomenal job!
Are you kidding me !! This was awesome !!!! the actors were great, the CGI was great , the story was great......... the action was great........ better than any Sci Fi full length film I've seen in 20 years..... and I love Sci Fi..........
This is probably among the best UA-cam channel. Such a great content ..
Totally agree..
That's one of the things I love about humanity. Despite personal beliefs, political, religious or otherwise, we all can tell stories which we can all enjoy.
Those border guard robots seem like nice guys. I wonder what they do when they're stood down and buried under the sand. Perhaps they game on the internet?
@kodiak its very funny
Perhaps that and some other mind-numbing activities too. They watch B-movies like "Tremor"!
Play internet poker and smoke cigars.
Bet they absolutely wreck everyone on the eurpoean servers.
Tell me which game came to you when you read that.
Sure, they seem nice. But, seriously, what's up with the robots sending spies that explode on emotional turmoil or death? That's not cool.
Dust makes perfect movies why is this channel so underrated
Because nobody appreciates real work and art
Do they make them, or do they just re-upload them? I think it's the latter. I've seen them re-upload other short films that I saw years ago on another channel, such as Rha.
They don't necessarily make them, you can submit completed films
Anyways, the movies are great, that is what we are supposed to appreciate, not how are they uploaded or made or any stuff like this.
because they make so damn short movies !
I love how the guy on the motorcycle got to the desert faster then the jet powered flying machines.
This was better than a lot of full length movies I've seen. Great CGI, great acting, great music. Loved it!
Thank you!!!
Oded Fehr...My Maaaan. Loved him in the Mummy as Ardeth Bay...."By putting this on, you have started a chain reaction that could bring about the next apocalypse"..... CLASSIC!!
Awesome short by the way.
I just discovered Dust. They are short, intense movie like quality about them. Reminds me of twilight zone or outer limits. Great shows and actors.
Brilliant short film! But it deserves to have an entire series about this story, not just a short film! 😢
Thank you!!!
You guys need better funding. You already have great talent and great CGI. For a Series this would melt the internet. Paid content streaming channels ✊
Wow, what an incredible short movie. Well acted, well made and well directed. Simply fantastic.
I really enjoy these DUST films. It's as if these short films could be inserted at the beginning, end, or even the middle of a 2 hour movie. Just enough info for it to make sense and no fluff. Great stuff!
Unbelievable quality, great scenario, huge actors, perfect all.
Top 5 of all the Dust shorts I have watched so far. Worthy of more time on Dust
Thank you!!!
@@dassanie U r welcome, watched again yesterday.
WOW. JUST WOW. These Dust films are CRAZY awesome! DAMN.
they aint DUST films, the company just sources them and reposts.
Seriously! Every time I watch one, I am left with the feeling that I watched a great, full-length feature film. They are fantastic!
Wow just wow is literally my 1st reaction too, before I realized his junk could burn off
@@AridersLifeYT Ok....they make great selections, then!
i liked how the machine just stared at the man like "You coming or not?"
Yeah, my girlfriend just turned into DUST. Hahaha.
Shadow Wolf I figured that meant he was also a sleeper spy...
I like how there are more foreign language/culture/location stories. Not something you really find on the big screen
You kidding, right?
I wish I was a billionaire to fund all high-quality sci-fi short movies with blockbuster budgets.
jesus christ.. these shorties are amazing!
Wow. Better than most Sci-Fi movies. Very impressive. 😮
This channel is amazing, I can’t stop watching, i start watch Dust videos at 10:00pm, now is 3am and I can’t stop watching, how this channel don’t have 50 millions subscribers
This is a prophetic movie who knows what the future brings? Great great movie
The most unbelievable part was...
"Do not fire on, this are is too populated."
OMG, this was amazing. You guys are freakin'talents! The actors, the filming, the CGI. Just incredible. Well done!
sound & sound track excellent too!
everything was awesome until the soldiers just randomly disrespect their commander 5x for no reason.... that imo almost completely ruined the plot.
edit: Nearly 500 likes damn this is my most liked comment lmao, thx fellas
Yeah. They should have asked for input from people who were actually in the military.
Yeah they should have shot them down earlier
That's what happens when one creates a scene for the sake of creating a scene. It's not an organic culmination of emotions, which is why it's so disjointed and nonsensical.
yes i agree
It set them up for being fired-upon by their own commanders
This is one of the best sci-fi shorts I've ever seen. This was amazing.
I'm blown away for such a short movie but excellently made and amazing no-none sense story line! Looking forward to more of these. Thank you Dust.
This was great, and deeper than it deserves to be. I am impressed. Everything worked from the actors to the scoring. Pitch perfect well done.
What a find! I'm thrilled to have discovered this channel and would choose this 18.52 minutes over anything on television! That this is free, absolutely amazes me! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
It only gets sooo much better with each episode of DUST. Greatest.
A sci fi classic. This is so well done in every way
classic?this film was new unless u mean the subject of robots vs humans
An Arabic Narrator... Wow 😍 Impressed
I have watched lots of Dust short films but this is the first one I really wanted to be a full length film very well acted by the main top people and excellent cgi
This feels like the opening sequence to a sci fi political thriller about starting a Second Great War with the Machines.
Wow I can't find words to explain how I feel about watching this movie.Highs and lows of love and really good special effects.Would definitely watch again.
This was one of the best short films I have seen. Great job!
Wow totally forgot to drink my fresh cup of coffee while watching this. The suspense was very good. Excellent short.
War was never the solution, nor it will be.... Story was awesome....
I know, the world would have been so much better if britain had never gone to war with the Nazis, so many people died!
42
Please let this be a series, please, please, pleaeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaassssssssseeeeeeee
No sign of ''The Creature''......that's a relief!
Good looking short. KNowing how hard it is to make something like this I can only give kudos to the film makers. Well done.
Why DUST videos are not on TV or theaters many are better than star wars or other sci-fi films.
Who produces these films and actors , funding and payrolls?
Man these shorts are better than full length feature films!
The Commander is the dude that played in Resident Evil movies. Kick ass shorty! Well done! 😎
Oded Fehr. He was also in the 'Mummy'.
Amazing
Im jordanain and i think this film was made here in rum valley
Amazing indeed
What a wonderful place btw!
"Do not fire on *_him,_* this area is too populated!"
"Sir, dammit, *_he's_* going into the alley!
Seems like they should have been referring to him as 'her' and 'she', seeing as how they hadn't realized yet that he had dressed like her to lead them away.
If they'd just continued to refer to him as the 'target', it would not have been an subject of contention!
ODED FEHR!! AWESOME! Criminally underrated actor...
Dust you never disappoint!!
Incredible acting
Perfect soundtrack and visuals
You guys need to come out with a movie and a series!!
Amazing as always!
This short was really well done. The story's theme as well as some of the music reminded me a lot of the Battlestar Galactica (2004) series, which is always a good thing in my books :)
One of the best short films being shown through DUST.
U guys never give us happy endings.!
This has flavours of "The Second Renaissance" from "The Animatrix". Love it!
Why isn’t this being expanded into a full length movie(s)? This is fantastic!
Ya better than the stupid repetitive crap from dc and other comic book heros . Don't get me wrong love them but these are terrific and new.
@Lion Mane Yep, pretty close to the matrix, at the same time a sad allegory to normal people who are put in situations that are considered pure evil...yet we are not talking about evil people per se... I would say inspired in the matrix, with a brilliant allegory to modern conflicts
Garry Wells it is a movie !!!!
Eric Pelote seriously? When can I see it in theatres?
Prepperjon not sure , but I got to cop this some kind of way
These movies are masterpieces! Flawless interweaving real life w cgi and strong character, stories with thought provoking themes. Stay strong. Stay safe. Bravo.
LOVE IT! Better than what's on SyFy channel these days.
Dude how have I NOT heard of this channel before? The whole production is freaking awesome and the story makes you think about love, sacrifice, hatred, heart ache, and longing. Do you guys make full length movies?
Currently short films, but we will be having a feature film called "Prospect" premiere this year in theaters.
hey, "Seam" feature film in the works, but first look out for our first Netflix series, "Jinn", next year
So there IS a feature in the works? Good, this storyline's MUCH too good to not continue!
)
@@watchdust awesome
Excellent acting by the couple, made it very believable. Just a few issues with an otherwise great short.
1. How was he not killed by the explosion. When the Japanese guy blew up, everyone ran away and still 85 died. His blast was far bigger than hers.
2. The pilots really have a poor grasp of chain of command. Not least when disobeying the order could restart the War.
Also, when he dressed like her to lead them away from her, they thought he _was_ her and chased after. However, they kept referring to him as 'him' and 'he.'
No offense, Just want to tell you that, the guy who blew up at first, is a Hong Kong respectable local actor, a true Hongkonger, not a Japanese.
I was surprised how good this was. Like an entire movie compressed into 18 minutes.
EXCELLENT. JUST EXCELLENT. Please continue this and are waiting for me episodes. Thanks so much!
Hope they make it into a movie, well done 😋
These films I can't get enough of. My God they are just amazing.
