Happy Year of the Tiger to all! We're honored to have THE BOOGEYS on DUST! And looking forward to hear your comments and questions!
Seen this a long time ago it's a old upload shame 😔 😞
Please enjoy the film here on DUST. It’s a great opportunity to have the millions of DUST fans also share their thoughts and experiences. It’s a strange new world we live in where time is elastic and losing its linearity. Or maybe it’s because today is Groundhog Day and we are caught in a loop… … loop … … loop … …
Yes, an older piece but still great, watched it again thank you.
Yes. It's an oldie. My only issue is, while the theme is old & the outcome is predictable & yes, I'm sure it costs a bundle to even consider a full movie or miniseries or something, I guess it would be nice to see these shorts grow into something more. I've only seen a cpl or so come out of here into a full movie, There was that one, I think it was called Eight or something, the one about some folks w powers & how they're used as cheap labor bc they're supposed to be registered or something? It's been awhile.
Remember "Tree House Time Machine" or something like that? That would've been great to see that as a full movie.
Instead, we get producers & writers that either push political correctness that's so obviously in your face that it defies normalcy, & they get the nod, or companies who completely miss the ball, like the demise of Firefly.
Or, on the fan side of things, you get purists who just can't let go of books & complain so much about how a movie veered off the Holy Grail Trail of the book's storyline that all hopes for a series end before the movies even exits its theatrical release. To you folx I'll say what I've said for decades. It's extremely rare to see a movie from a book that sticks even mostly to the storyline. Whether it's bc of time constraints or the producer's or director's style or simply the Hollywood effect that somehow it's like some unwritten law that they HAVE to Hollywoodize a movie somewhere's along the line, I don't know. But instead of going to a movie w a preplanned fail mindset, howabout trying to 4get the book & just enjoy the movie for what it is, a different view of a story. I would've liked to have seen I Am Number Four or Jupiter Ascending or John Carter or others all the way thru. So what if it doesn't keep strictly to the book. At least we'd get to see the whole thing &.hey, maybe enjoy a different view.
I remember when I volunteered at Creation Fest West around 2007 I think w some friends. Chronicles of Narnia was about to be done... again. Some of the staff... I 4got if they were directors or whatever, they had something to do with it & were out there to promote it. Anyways I asked if they were going to produce the whole series this time or was it just going to be the std 3 & out again. "That's our intention." The rest is history.
Now I've never read any Harry Potter books. But is someone going to tell me that the movies stayed 100% w the books? Bc for 1 it's simply impossible to cram a book that size into a 2-3 hr movie. Maybe they stayed close enuff to soothe the purists' minds. Or maybe it didn't matter bc they did enuff marketing of magic to make kids think they could actually do that stuff, or at least enuff to get kids to bugging their parents enuff to take them & once inside the kids minds took off & it didn't matter the storylines bc they took it hook, line & sinker. Perhaps that series got kids to do something they perhaps haven't done in awhile bc of the addiction to a flat 2D screen w buttons (granted Mr Harry had his wand on those too), & that was something we used to do as kids all the time... used their imaginations.
But I'm just speaking off the top of my head. All I'm saying is there's a lot of good original ideas on Dust (or elsewhere bc yes, I've seen a nbr.of Dust shorts elsewhere b4), that would be even more awesome if turned into a full-length feature.
Nuff sed.
I enjoyed it. Thank you 😊 The alien is really well done & would love to see more of this story.
This can't end here! Hope there's more of this story to come!
That how you know its a good Dust.
It's a movie on PrimeTV
Battle In Space: The Armada Attacks
Welcome to Du st shorts, where some of the most creative minds of the Sci-Fi genre can"t seem to think of any sort of ending, so just roll the credits Sanjay and leave the viewers hangin'' as they try and think one up for their own need for closure. I.E. saniity, stay tuned because there's much more to come!
This story has longevity in so many directions and the 18 mins flew by, You have a big basket of entangled snakes waiting to tell their story. Very nice work :) Happy year of the Tiger to you too.
I see our lying duplicitous media have inspired this short film! 😁
Dishonorable mention to our child trafficking overlords...
You mean Faux Noise
@@dancingnature Or Jesuit theatre! 🙄😂
So, this is where the conspiracy theorists hang out. Like cockroaches…..they’re everywhere!
The similarties do seem apparant
So you know that a story is flowing well when 18 minutes feels like 5
Great short film. The alien is magnificent.
The effects are A+++++. Found ourselves so immersed in this world. We can't wait to see what else Sanjay has in store in the future.
@@watchdust 🤘👽🤘
I agree 100%
@@WilliamHBaird-eq2hp me too✊
This was Put out a while ago by DUST it is good.
Very well done. Great camera work, excellent acting, great costumes and very good FX and VFX. Good creature work, too! All in all, one of the better shorts from DUST in a while!
We agree, it's a real gem! We LOVE the world building and the character development. So many rich elements in such a short run time.
@@watchdust - Dummerweise ist dies hier gezeigte "Eure Realität" - und da ihr das alles so haarklein wieder gebt, frage ich mich sehr, woher ihr diese detaillierten korrekten Informationen erhalten habt??!! Beste Grüße
I was especially impressed with the directing / cinematography. There were some really well done shots in there! The VFX was sick as well! Definitely fantastic work by the entire production team.
@@theendgamefl888 Wenn das Übernatürliche am Werk ist, sind auch die guten Kräfte am Werk. :)
Like said is a well done piece ,
A lot of truth here....if we don't watch it...we might end up just like this...you will own nothing and be happy..
This is one of the best I've seen on Dust! Great actors, and story line. I hope to see more like this!
Don't count on it. All this jerk does is show short movies without an ending.
This is one of those short stories that leave me wanting more. I want to know more about the Benefactors, Dawkins back story, and definitely more Bates (I like him). VERY well done production from every point of view sans one. Too much takes place in the darkness. I know that darkness adds to the suspense of a scene, but it is difficult for me to feel suspense when I have no idea what's happening at all! Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful tale.
Had a great Star Wars feel to it, which is a compliment, indeed. I thoroughly enjoyed this short and the monster effects were amazing.
I was getting Lexx vibes, but same
That Alien will be in mind for a longtime, Kudos to creativity team, technical team, Actors, Music and of course the Director , Wish you more success ahead :)
🙏🏼😌🤞🏼
hope there is more to this. kind of what to see what the Boogeys do with the children/people they take as well as did Jack survive? did the Child find his dad, did they become 'resistance fighters' and/or help Jack.
Ditto
WE MUST KNOW THESE THINGS!!
This is truly a short that needs to be turned into a full feature film. Impeccable acting, great sets and, an awesome plot line.
Totally agree!
Everyone says this about every single video. It is the most generic comment.
@@VidarrKerr I'm the type of person that will only say it if I believe it true. I've called out quite a few others if it was deserved. In this case, what I said is 100% my feeling. I would pay to see a fully fleshed out movie in a theatre.
AGREED!!! More, please!
made into at least a series
good plot, lots of depth. I want more
There's more, much more, if we get the chance :)
@@theboogeys2991 there is so much opportunity for this to be a movie or series, example how did the aliens end up having control over the humans.
@@Dave_889 they arrived with plans to manufacture everything really cheaply, bought up all the raw materials Earth had then began controlling and charging whatever the heck they wanted. Notice no one could afford cars? Notice media was one source?
I like how they went with the "show, don't tell" approach to the narrative. We can gather information about the world setting via character interactions. Very cool.
Very VERY good!! Doesn't overexplain, allows viewers' imaginations to fill plot gaps, fascinating theme -- potentially a full-length film!
May we have another, please? "Boogeys" begs to be a collection of short stories built around resisting the "benefactors".
In particular, we have no clear idea of why the "Benefactors" want human children. It is especially creepy how the alien holds the kid's hand.
@@animalntelligence3170 definitely, reminded me a little of the Doctor Who story with the aliens who get high on children's hormones(can't remember it's title)
I'm early early.
No one to spoil it for me 😔
😂😂😂😂😂😂💀🤦♂️
This was really good! Thank You ❤️
Fantastic!
Right from the start, this drops you right into a place so desperate and beaten down it makes Blade Runner 2049 look like Disney World and Half Life's City 17 look like a bastion of democracy.
Sharp script, persuasive actors well directed and beautifully flowing cinematography, all underscored by a suitably tense and ominous soundtrack.
You've told a wonderful little vignette, perfectly contained. Opening, action, consequence, coda.
Well done and thanks.
Thank you! And thank you for the synthesized comment! You've got the eye and the mind's eye to see details and hidden nuances. It was made with passion for passionate audiences like you! :)
It's a very old upload
I only subscribed to Dust a few months ago, I haven't seen this before.
What can I say, I'm an old SF tragic. Grew up on Clarke, Asimov, Heinlein, Vonnegut, Bradbury...
@@joenoneoyobinnes4727 ... Herbert, Walter M. Miller Jr., PKD... right there with you!
No school like the old school.
Although lately I've been loving Peter F Hamilton, Weir an Cixin Li.
Great production values.....and convincing! Dawkins is the man...but they were all good.....Dt. Finlay's Casebook it isn't!
"Take it. You earned it back."
Xin Nian kuai le. This one has everything: spaceship, evil aliens, mind-frugging of helpless aliens, fine VFX, a gritty anti-hero. Well done. do more.
same old, same old… 5/10
Excellent Everything!!!
Really Well Done! Truly Enjoyed Watching! Thanks for sharing! All the best!
Very nice and simple storyline, I want to see more
Very nice, after a long time kind off change and excellent story and great work, very balanced
Good film. Acting, special effects and all. Could be a full length movie. Or a series.
Absolutely 1st rate!
Should be a series.
Alien looked like a mind flayer.
Interesting film and good story. I was a little confused when a "Mindflayer" appeared however and I thought, "What's a Mindflayer from D&D doing in this world ?"
Always good to see Doug Jones.
The story is great! It has the potential to become a series like colony.
I loved it.Thank you so much
never trust a fanatical "priest" yelling "all hail our benefactors"... soooo damn shady😅
6:15 Dude really gave him an unlit cigarette, that’s cruel and unusual punishment
I just got Space channel with my smart tv and this was the first thing I saw on it. More more more!! Great film!
A great short movie! Thx a lot!
Thank you too! :)
The world that my story takes place in is called Terragartha, which is mostly a apocalyptic wasteland. That is a mix of the old west/frontier and remnants of the highly advanced technological civilizations of the ancient archaic distant past.
Glory to the Revolution!
Crappy goggles on head? Check
Doug Jones? Check
"OK, we got our selves a sy fy movie."
I love how everything he stole was put to use
So awesome that you noticed!! :)
This looks like a repeat of the same one with a different name from about 4 yrs ago. Sorry, just what I remembered. I've seen this before.
I really enjoyed this. Thank you!
So many layers and poigniant references to our sad reality of the world today… this could easily be the future…
Whoa! Half life on steroids. 18 minutes and 27 seconds of pure entertainment. Thank you! Dust delivers again.
I've never seen so many fake account comments in my life...embarrassing.
Excellent piece. The news report was just like today's political class propaganda.
I'm happy to say, once again, I'm a fan of *DUST* and their short films. Less on the fee-fee short films that should be regulated to *Lifetime Movie Television* or the *Oprah Network* and more on the sci-fi horror/action and you'll never go wrong.🏆🍻🔥
GARBAGE!!!! STRAIGHT GARBAGE 💯💯💯💯 👎👎👎👎👎
I've seen this last year. I was hoping this was a new episode. This is still a great short film. So I watched it again. Great work!
great story line and good characters
Only god knows what those aliens were doing with the kids. My goodness. I would have loved to see what the spaceship looked like inside. A short series with back stories would be great. And ultimately knowing where the kids are being taken to.
Adrenochrome(;
Please… please let this be a pilot episode! Phenomenally well done with a simple yet awesome premise. It needs to be a series on DUST!
Series often ruins things, at some point the ideas might run out, things get repeated. This way that it's only 20 minutes long leaves a lot for imagination. Though if nicely done I wouldn't object if it was made into videogame. Although as I said, maintaining quality level set up by this video would be insanely difficult.
Like a clichéd video/computer game.
The choice to live on your knees or die on your feet is the absolute self redemption.
Would you still make the same decision if it involved not only yourself but your wife, kids, mom, dad also?
@@Zo-gw2ku Good question, but that choice should only involve the individual and not made for any others. They have their own epiphany to arrive at.
WOW! This earth's media turned that story around really fast. Kinda reminds me of the LAME STREAM MEDIA on our own earth.
yep, fake news at its best, CNN style.
That's your take on this? Truly pathetic 🥺
@@MKR5210 . I see. Is that BASELESS comment of yours backed by any GLOBAL KNOWN LAW/RESEARCH/AUTHORITY? YES OR NO?
Go learn some MANNERS, kid!
BEST REGARDS!
Not bad, wanted more !!! Make more ! 👍
More context would have been been much better.
I hope that there's more to come?
I had seen this before. Really cool film! I like how the News spun the story of him being the terrorist and the alien being the hero.
Superb
I love it!!! It reminds me of a book series that I loved as a kid called ' The Stainless Steal Rat' !!!
I remember the name but not the story. It was a popular book. Enjoy hearing about a time when sci-fi was of much higher quality.
Very good loved it would make a great TV series...

Look forward to more from this astounding mind! 👏
Thank you very much. Can we have some more please?
That was an excellent short movie
Good stuff! Reporter at the end work for CNN? lol
Dude this really needs to be full film
Wow this is like watching a live action anime
Handing the guy in stockades a smoke is a genuis move. My kind of humor. Damn lol
More, want to see more !
I love the dirty cleanliness of it.
Good story tellers don't produce the whole story, and let each individual audience member supply the details and nuance allowing their audience to become the author, their own imaginations supplying needed details.
HELL THAT ROCKED SANJAY
More of this excellence please!
Sad good idea but way too cliche
When an alien is wearing eye liner you know you're in trouble.
Another Great video 👍👍
Everything down to the music is excellent.
