Reading the synopsis, I have to say that is a simple but interesting premise for a short film. Some of the best movies and short films really do depend on how well you execute on simplicity rather than a plot being original. The sort of people that keep dragging on about content not having original plots probably have no eye for a masterclass in simplicity and execution. Top Gun Maverick comes to mind as it resembles the Death Star mission in SW but the execution was more brilliant than one could have imagined which is why it out trumped it’s unoriginality and predictability.

That whole place was for an "elire" person, not any who survived the war. What a heck of a spot to be in, trying to decide who gets the one spot to wherever. While they all want to go there's one of their group who's proven he's becoming unstable because he had never been at the bottom before. They should choose him if only to remain somewhat safe. When these Dust shorts are produced, those chosen for the parts always bring such realism to their characters. This is another Dust short that should be continued from the point where this short ended. Because what those people were shown is hard to believe given the surrounding area and weather.
For about a second I thought, "That's the ending?" and was disappointed. It would have made a lot more sense if Warren knew the code to his brother's bunker (maybe Sarah told him or he knows his brother uses the same passcode for everything), rather than random dude does some "computer stuff" by waving his hands about and magically cracks the code in 15 seconds.
Warren is not the person from the beginning. He most likely didn’t know the passcode. I think he didn’t even know there was escape pod in there. If he knew it, he would have slipped in the bunker when he was searching shelves. Alone. And the brother from the beginning is that one man who punched Warren in the face. From what they’ve said he was a prison guard, and when he called his brother in the beginning it looked like he was in the middle of riot or something. So… it seems that they have just found random person’s private bunker and escape pod.
@@Beading_Kate You're right. The story is even more incoherent than I thought. The first 2 minutes are pointless and add nothing to the rest of the short. It's a shame, because it's very well made, and the acting is very good for a short.
The people on the jet were on the way to their mansion with the bunker. In the scene where the group walks through the desert, we see a plane that's crashed into a building. That's the couple from the first scene. Also, in the cellar, there's a portrait painting from the owner of the house / the guy from the opening scene. It's all very subtle, but I prefer to place those hints in a not so obvious way.
So far I’ve only watched half of the short movie at 10 minutes 16 seconds. The bleakness after a nuclear holocaust would most certainly break 98% of all people to despair and depression. Hope is the answer! For survival!

That was surprisingly good. Ok, the CGI is ten years old and textures don't match all the time, but the script is good as well as the punch at the end.
The only thing that distracted me is the costumes. They have a '90s SciFi touch (the football shoulder pad and some other details), but all in all, it was a good one!
Absolutely brilliant,👍👍👍,DUST got me threw the pandemic, I'm anything but computer savvy , I'm 56 this coming Tuesday if you know what I mean, and still love to go to the cinema, I would love to see some global cinema operators doing a,DUST, night on one night of the week across their franchise, before their stuff goes online, just so you could sit in a big screen and eat buttered popcorn while watching these short, mostly really good stories 👍👍👍👍
This was great! Only the sound on the 2 lightning strikes threw me off, that far away, you would definitely not hear that flash right away 🤣
Who's to say that that was one pod of many. That facility looked like it could hold many of those pods. No need to lose your humanity over something that could change the outcome of two people.
Thumbs up! Great story!
👍👍 many thanx to cast & crew!
A bit of a downer in the end but hey...😉
Special thanx to DUST.
Fantastic short. I hope, there will be more parts. Greetings from Acapulco.
Heck of a beginning drew me right in. Writing, acting, sound all top notch 🏆
Really good film. Wonder which two gets to go. A new Adam and Eve? Well acted and written...now I want to see more.
I love this channel. Please keep uploading 🤠
That looked like a Pilot for a Mini-Series . Very well done .
Exceptionally HUMAN. Brilliant.
Nice movie, hope part 2 is coming...
Great Job! I was waiting for the end zinger...You didn't disappoint. The rest could hang out in the quarters seen at the back of the room, or maybe there's more than one craft? great possibilities there, left to your imagination.
Very well done to all involved, I loved it and looking forward to seeing more 👍👍
That's it, no cake for Warren!!!😄
Great job!, thi movie need another 5 episode
Battlestar Galactica Voices have ALWAYS been the best for a Robot.. yet hardly ever use them.. ❤
Part II please 😬😬😬
Amazing stuff
Great writing, and directing this movie brilliant
Excellent effort. Writing acting production editing. Compelling to watch.
humanity have already gone through various global good periods and harsh periods and will definitely continue to do so
Loved it and I want more!
Quite excellent!
Nah, no need for continuation. The ending was very well executed
I enjoyed the short. Part 2 needed.
Awesome. More please .
Did you use any "In Camera Effects" such as miniature models. I assume there was at least some CGI ?
Great little film I hope there's gonna be more 10 out of 10
This was really well done. I’d like to see a full version with the plot better fleshed out. Why is that large facility only have a single 2 person pod?
interesting story, good cast
leaves you wanting more
Intere.sting film. Well done
I asked Grok how to retrieve my lost ITunes password and it recommended this short by Dust!
👍 The ending is a true nightmare... I vote for the couple but let's be honest, they'll be the least likely come out on top
P.S. this is a reupload.
Nicely done but somewhat of a bittersweet ending...or could this possibly be grounds for a continuation?
Well done! So engaging!
That was AWESOME!
