    I love how the audience was dead silent during her performance and then roared with applause when she finished. Also the pianist seemed proud of her he kept smiling at certain points and I thought that was sweet.

If you want to hear a supreme being playing the violin, listen and watch this girl. Take my word, she will go far in the music world. Dr T Jayatilaka

      Agree with you. Kevin, the 1st prize winner is also fabulous but his playing is not nearly so expressive, rich and profound like this girl. She touches the soul and every note speaks to the heart - a very rear gift in our time where playing becomes more mechanical and impersonal. The best prodigy I ever heard after Michael Rabin. I only hope that she will continue in this way and give us joy and delight for many years to come!!

    • @alanabrekkockar3883
      @alanabrekkockar3883 8 років тому +6

      It's the interpretation part where their opinion comes in. I pointed out just 5 seconds of this music and they knew what I mean by that. I think you don't know shit.When you say you prefer an interpretation it's just okay. But comparing players is the real thing, it is really hard to get to that level.

    • @alanabrekkockar3883
      @alanabrekkockar3883 8 років тому +15

      BTW nico. Have you noticed the accent on that first note in 1:17-1:22. And the piano player plays really really bad music like hits the keys like hitting two pieces of wood to each other at 1:15-1:20, I think it's why she had that accent there.

    Everyone entitled to their own opinion I think that this version supersedes many of the best violinists. Technique flawless but it's more, I think she captured the essence of the piece and the ranging from the most playful to the drama and emotion in the first solo opening. Is there room for more growth/development in emotion, of course no one has ever been able to please everyone's tastes but I think this just about does it.

    Soo-Been you are amazing!! Thank you so much for your music. You are not only a wonderful 'technician' but your technique is totally at the service of your musical vision. Very few (if any) adults in the world can play like you do at this point in time. Please take care in your life and I hope you come here and play in Australia soon. I work with an orchestra here and would be happy to pass on your details if you would like :)

    As a current of life, music is understood, it is felt, it is heard. I see images. Such vividries arise whenever i listen to this piece. This preformance here by lee was the first time ive ever listened to it. Every chord of my soul was played by her voilin's bow. It was the first piece where i became nothing but consciousness. Wieniawski brought me myself.

    • @stevengu1253

      It may be that she's so young and the judges want to encourage her to keep playing, telling her to strive for even greater heights. It is very easy for a young player to win top prize and stop practicing, and hence, lose his or her ability.

This is the most amazing display of prodigious virtuosity I can recall having seen. Ever. She is an angel, with supernatural power. I know violinists who are the tops who would have their hands full with this. Many would run and hide.

    Soo-Been Lee preformed in the 2012 Beijing junior finals for Violin, and came in 2nd place, not sure what the judges were thinking, but I'm sure they had their reasoning, and she is 12 in this preformance. The piano player I believe, not for sure, but I believe that is her mother. She was taught by her mother how to play violin and at 3 yrs old she had her first competition which she won. I found this girl by TwoSetViolin, who epicly failed at playing as good as her, but did play the song. To anyone trying to be like this girl, too bad, you should've had your mom give you a violin straight out of the womb
