The Intro, and the Outro 🔥 I need STOP 6...I always go to that corner to turn off the Transform mode. Never knew a simple "A" key would solve that. Thanks so much
tip number 5 about the wobble has driven me nuts for a year and I had no idea there was a solution. Learned a few other things that will be helpful as well. Thanks man and keep up the fantastic work!
i cannot believe i been adding and replacing transitions the drag and drop way all this time when i could have been double clicking. SMH. Thanks as always
Great! Is there the possibility of having a list of used clips with name, time code, duration to be exported perhaps in an excel? When you work professionally at the end of the editing it is usually necessary to produce a document with the list of the material used and related timecodes. I don't think there is a possibility in FCP to do this; I only see the possibility of copying the information from the timecode window but for each individual clip in the timeline. Thank you!
Not only is that illegal and not chill, but it's not possible to share MotionVFX plugins because you need the mInstaller with your account registered. Don't be that person.
Hahahahahah! This introduction is powerful 😂! Did you use a mist filter on the first shot? All these tricks are game changer (The first one is going TO CHANGE MY LIFE!). Thank you! Loved the “nice face bro” shot and the ending too😂
Yo Florence! Yes we did. I also think I added a bit more with a preset from a MotionVFX plugin. Haha thanks so much 😄 I'm glad you enjoyed this one. We definitely enjoyed making it.
"Wow, I'm absolutely blown away by the incredible depth and clarity of your videos! 🌟 Your knack for demystifying every tool within Final Cut Pro is like having a masterclass right at my fingertips. 🎬✨ I feel like you've unveiled a treasure trove of creative possibilities that I never even knew existed. 🚀 From the basics to the most advanced techniques, you've truly transformed the way I approach video editing. ⚡ Thanks a million for illuminating the path to editing greatness! 🌈🎥 Can't wait to dive into more of your content and unleash my inner editing wizardry. 🧙♂🔥"

Hi Dylan, your efficiency tips rock. I've been working on my first video for ages, went through sheer agony of allegedly losing all of my first-time edited footage. Though, I've managed to recover my complete time line by putting all source files on an external disk, the files are missing in the Finder. Can I leave it this way before rendering and uploading to YT, or what?
@@dylanjohndickerson Thank for coming back to me. Well, I've lost all the Finder images but the time line is intact. Can or can't I grade and export the timeline without having the images in the FCPX Finder?
Have you tried relinking the files? Go to File, relink files, original media and select the folder/harddrive/files that has the media you need to reconnect@@ferdysgdumel
Awesome seeing you two together. Quick question about saving effects presets, does that work with text titles, specifically the Glow? I used captionator, I got all my titles perfect, then said ooo let me play with this gradient text. Then for the life of me I couldn’t copy that glow and paste onto other titles lol. And idk what I’m doing with the gradient thing so I couldn’t recreate it. I wound up copy pasting the whole title and then changing the text to match the original lol. Seemed like the fastest option at the time 😂
6:15 you talk about storylines. Final Cut keeps making storylines if you put transitions between clips if they’re not in the main center of the timelime, how do I make it stop doing that? Or is there no way?
Bro, you should've seen this other thumbnail where he's holding me more vertically. We seriously had to change it because it looked like my legs were his legs haha. Maybe I should switch it to that for the shock factor haha
Nice! Thanks guys, very useful tips in the tip # 8 you put your LUT layer under you colour wheels. You have to put it after, if not you will not loose your dynamic range. In fcpx layers are stacked in reverse order*
Thanks for the support! While you do have the right idea, you're not entirely correct. My shot was exposed and balanced correctly. If it wasn't, I would've made corrections first before the LUT was added (like you mentioned) so I can access the full tonal range and color information of my LOG clip to correct it. But since everything was sitting in the correct range already, there's no need. The dynamic range of my LOG clip was sitting right where it needed to be so when I applied the input LUT, it fit the Rec 709 color space appropriately. My highlights did not blow out nor my shadows crushed. The color wheels after the transform LUT are simply to make some minor tweaks to the transformed Rec 709 clip.
Well, nice tips, but for me, using a screen shot of the FCPX interface to demonstrate smooth scale/move INSIDE the FCPX interface is not exactly the clearest way to demo this at speed.
Why does it look like FCB is switching from normal looking to some weird shutter speed effect? I’m not sure I like that, even if it’s a creative choice. It seems better for spooky films, not talking head stuff. Just jarring. Not critical love you guys but my eyes are seeing something different here
I think I goofed up the frame rate when I sent it to Dylan! I should have checked what frame rate he was editing in beforehand. Definitely not a creative choice. But I think we now know the secret to making a scary movie now!

What fine pairs of legs you both have! Thank you for these most useful tips. Please bring on more double acts. Scotland loves you!
😂 You should've seen the other thumbnail we were going to use. It seriously looked like his legs were my legs.
When I scrolled I saw this thumbnail and thought it was dude spread with a stop sign over their junk. Khaki pant color like skin. 😂😂😂
😂 I was going to change it because of that but now I’m thinking it’ll bring some attention to the video lol
hahahahaha, EPIC SLAPS? Subscribed.👋🏽
Haha thanks brotha! Really appreciate it 🙏🏼
Double Dylans = Double the Education

does this also apply to the iPad ?
Not entirely sure because I don’t have an iPad, but a good portion probably do.
6:15 you talk about storylines. Final Cut keeps making storylines if you put transitions between clips if they’re not in the main center of the timelime, how do I make it stop doing that? Or is there no way?
You need to have clips be in that secondary storyline if you want to add transitions unfortunately. No way to stop that.

The 1+1=11 value of the Dylan Cringe Bros! Thanks for this epic collab!

The 11th thing you need to stop doing in FCP is naming your kids Dylan.
🤣 that should've absolutely made the cut.
Ahahaha come on 😂
That intro 🤣🤣🤣

Some very good stuff there. FCP seems to be falling apart at the seems. It would be nice if they integrated some of your workflow.
