Totally concur ! When I first met my wife, in Boston, of Asian descent, I was sure she had never tasted biscuits. I pulled out of box of Bisquick, followed the recipe on the side to the letter, had it timed for when she came to my apartment. These were so-called "drop biscuits", and I pulled the sheet out of the oven, and dumped the items into a glass bowl, and they clinked as they met the glass. The "biscuits" were hard as a rock. She made such a show of appreciation. We are approaching our 30th anniversary, and it wasn't until now, had decent biscuits by my own hand. THANK YOU !
Mr. Ken, I will never buy the stuff at the store again. I make regular buttermilk biscuits that the kids love, but I had no idea how to do them. With an egg or two, the kids eat them up before school (they go year-round). I can't give them this every day, but they sure love them. Many thanks for showing us easy it is to make these! :) Looking forward to other recipes you have on anything. Inflation has gotten me to make my own bread and have a garden. I make my own pancakes. I can't afford to spend as much, but I can get the kids what they need by cooking at home. Thanks!
The thumbnail made me immediately think of the cinnamon raisen biscuits that my mom used to make at Hardee's. That was like 40 years ago. They made them from scratch every morning. Most ppl thought they were predone.. nope scratch every morning.
@@MZDenise72 yep. Mom would bring home the ones that didn't sell the days before..even after they were on "sale" on the counter or she would just buy them for us. Well for them... i as it turned out have a severe "sensitivity " to cinnamon. Not allergic like epipen.. just it will cause raw places in my mouth and throat and can cause so nasty tummy.. but only one 'kind'. I guess there is some difference between bark of a tree cinnamon and other types...i dont know i just dont do cinnamon.. but the smell of those. And it lingered in the car. Dad loved to get the stale ones or heat them in the oven to stale consistency then pour warm milk over them. Something about being raised in a poor family that struggled with the great depression well after it was declared over. The entire county still is really. Most kids in the county get some form of free or reduced lunches and such. But its a very rural county. If Kansas had a Appalachian area...that area would be it.
This looks delicious. My wife loves cinnamon rolls I can't wait to show her this video. Congratulations on the one hundred thousand viewer award. I'm sure you will get many more in time. Thanks for sharing your videos. Stay warm and safe my friend.
Hi Ken! I am a new subscriber and I wanted to thank you for the work you put in to your channel. I have already made your sazon goya rice, scrambled eggs, biscuits, easy cheesy enchilada casserole, and mac and cheese for two. I'm also excited to make your game day chili this weekend for the Super Bowl. Everything has been delicious! Thank you again, and I look forward to continuing to learn from you. Kristin
It's nice to hear from you and get some feedback from someone that has made multiple recipes. I appreciate your comments and for subscribing! Enjoy the Super Bowl! 🙂
That looks absolutely delicious it reminds me of a cinnamon and raisin biscuit I used to get from Hardee's thanks for sharing the recipe you have a great day and God bless..
Thank you for this recipe. I try to use my oven as little as possible and this gives me an option of a cake treat. I have recently found your channel (and subscribed of course) and am going to go back and work my way through your videos. Looks like its going to be a great weekend for me perusing your past delights xx
Good morning, I came across your channel and love what I see so have subscribed. I make and bake a lot of bread so we have similar interests. Thanks for your support.
Hello Kin! Another wonderful recipe, thanks so much. I have made many of your recipes and have enjoyed them all. Your one or two person recipes are my wife's and my favorites being it's just the two of us. What brand of curved spatula are you using in this video? Keep the tasty recipes coming!
Nicely done videos You do a great job of explaining the technique, I'm just learning to make biscuits so these small batches are perfect for me and when I'm camping alone. I'll be able to make sausage gravy and biscuits without heating up the Dutch Oven, BTW, I got the same biscuit cutters for Christmas, plus the square set. Those I like because I can just form the dough once, use the larger ones then the smaller ones ... then eat the scraps during clean-up. :)
What a wonderful addition to your repertoire. Will be making these soon. One question: here, as in previous videos, I wonder about your practice of placing your cutter in the middle of your dough, then reforming, taking another cut out of the middle, and so on. Why do that ?
If you watch the video, you'll see that the first two biscuits were cut from end to end. With small amounts it is harder to get several good cuts at the same time. My last video used an even smaller amount to begin with.
I just took these out of the pan, they were easy to make, turned out perfectly, and are absolutely delicious. The only problem I can foresee is my dear husband wanting them all the time 😄 P. S. I also just became a new subscriber to your wonderful channel. May the Lord continue to bless you!
These look wonderful! I like to make these sometimes for a sweet treat with afternoon tea. I press my dough out into a square and cut it into fourths. That way they all come out the same and I don’t have to rework the dough. Thanks for showing how to cook them on the stovetop!
you must be in my head, because i was just wondering if there was a video on how to make the cinnamon and raisin biscuits i used to get at hardees as a kid. i might make these this weekend! thank you!
My husband has the same shirt. He still has his 1970 GTO that he bought brand new after coming back from Vietnam in Nov 1969. It’s in perfect condition too!
Doughy simply means undercooked. If they didn't rise it means the heat was too low (assuming you added the baking powder). More heat more time. It takes a little practice to get the hang of it.
Thank you for your taking time to make such small batches, less waste. Easy to learn 😌.
My pleasure 😊
A great video ! Here’s a great tip for them, soak your raisins in vanilla beforehand !!

Congratulations Mr. Ken!! I'll never forget you for helping me make biscuits successfully for the first time! 😁

Bet cranberries in place of raisins and a bit of orange zest would be a nice change up too
Or blueberries and lemon zest ! 😋🥰
I agree! ✅
That looks amazing will definitely have to make that

Hi,
I am lactose intolerant, so I cannot eat products with milk. Can I use Almond Milk instead??
Thank you
Yes. Enjoy!
These look great! I would like to know how thick the slab of dough is for cutting out. Is it 1/2 inch thick or more?
1 inch, thanks for watching!
Blessings for e New Week. I wanted to know how many grams is 1-2 table spoons of Butter!!!
Let me look that up for you.... here we go... the internet says 14 grams in 1 tablespoon. Have a great day!

It's in the video.
You did not show when you added the rasins.
Ha! I did. You must have missed it.
Much less fattening than cinnamon rolls

I could almost smell the cinnamon and the dough. Obviously I need to try these. Hope you're doing okay, your voice sounded a bit raspy.
I'm getting over a bit of a cold, so my voice was a little different. Thanks for watching!
I have found that using heavy cream instead of butter and milk works just as well. Love the biscuits, though!
For me, cold butter works better. Cream, being a liquid, acts differently in the process.
