Yes!! I love seed catalogs, I STUDY them, compare, each time I’ve learned something new…amazing. Days of maturity cause me stress at first since I start in doors, you once again made it clear. Thanks so much. Oh yeah learning about ZONES and frost dates had me going at first. True about pest in my area🤦🏽♀️you just taught me something about the pest chart in catalogs . I’m so excited I found your site you so informative. Learn something everyday.
Most of them are a great source of information! And then, if you have time to study the websites there's usually a treasure trove of info there as well- Johnny's Seed website jumps to mind as a great example of this... so much useful information! I'm so glad you find my channel informative! Thank you for the kind words and take care, Andrea!
Hello!! Thanks for this video. I was wondering if I order plants that are bare root, crowns, sets, etc, in Jan (to take advantage of the deals offered) will the company usually send those out when they are due to plant? It would be sad to get them well before I can get them in the ground. Thanks!!! Newbie gardener in Kansas - Zone 6
Most companies try to ship at the appropriate planting time, though sometimes they can't act quickly enough to avoid things like freak snow storms or below normal temps in a specific area. So there are definitely times you might end up getting your plants and not be able to plant them for a couple weeks. The good thing is, most dormant, bareroot plants can be kept in a cool location for weeks & weeks- either kept in their original packaging in the crisper drawer of a fridge for smaller plants OR for things like large bareroot shrubs & trees- keep their roots wrapped in something like damp (not soaking wet) newspaper and keep in a cool (but not freezing) place like a garage or basement.
This is INCREDIBLY helpful, thank you so much!
You are very welcome! I'm glad you found it helpful. Take care!

Love your videos what is your favorite sea catalog to order from for vegetables and flowers?
That's funny. Just moved a pile of gardening books and magazines out of our coffee table.
Gotta make room for the new 2022 catalogs!
