9th International Mariachi Women's Festival

The 9th annual International Mariachi Women's Festival was held at La Plaza de Cultura Y Artes on September 20, 2022. Among featured performers were Mariachi Innovación Mexicana from Guadalajara, Mexico. Their mariachi rendition of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody went viral and has made them the world's most recognized all-female mariachi. They demonstrate the range of performance styles presented by all-female mariachi groups which include innovative and traditional repertoire. Also featured and from Guadalajara was Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlan. They are one of Mexico's best traditional all-female mariachi groups in Mexico. Headliners and closing the festival was the two-time Grammy winning and 11-time Grammy nominated Mariachi Divas. Approximately 1500 audience members attended in person and more than 250 from various parts of the world watched the live stream. Bright and colorful Papel Picado, paper flowers and portions of the "Trailblazing Women of Mariachi Music" exhibit greeted audience members as they entered. Guests enjoyed traditional Mexican food and drink as they celebrated this 9th edition of the world's first International Mariachi Women's Festival that celebrated the Mariachi Women of Guadalajara, Mexico.
