Hi Danny, how does the 16 L double compartment storage space compare to the GR1 21L and GR2 26L? It seems like it might be a bit larger than the GR1, right?
Thanks for breaking down the updates/changes, Danny! Still loving my Bullet 16L laptop (1st edition now?), as it's in my regular top 5 rotation. That said, the 2-panel 18L version is so tempting! The extra organization would make it perfect for my tech-heavy EDC layout. At the same time, I've also been saving for the 2023 version of the Alpha One Niner Whitley, which is slightly bigger & has a way more comfortable/breathable back harness. Tough decisions.
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful and that the original laptop bullet is holding up well! Definitely a tough choice between the a19 and the bullet!
I wish Goruck updated that pocket on the top in the second compartment. It looks like they sewed in a pouch and called it a day. Either make it more sleek or make that pouch removable to use outside of the bag.
Yeah I’m totally opposite to that opinion. Love the minimal straps. It’s actually what draws me to my other bullets. Easy to just shoulder. My ruckers and gr1 have cumbersome straps. Not that thats always a bad thing. I think both have their place.
Nice! Thanks Danny. So many options for the bucket molle in the Bullet DC. For EDC, I am thinking about mounting a Yeti rambler sling horizontally to serve as a water bottle pocket...
I keep going back and forth between the 18L double compartment and a 26L GR2 heritage. As much as I loose my GR1 I really do need the extra compartment. My 2 biggest concerns are how comfortable the straps of the Bullet will be fully loaded out and whether or not the inside slip pocket will carry my iPad and Bible like the plate pocket in the GR1/2 do or if it will either be too narrow of an opening or just get stretched out since it does not have the elastic.
If you had to choose knowing what the new fabric feels like and what 500d feels like which fabric would you choose in this new bullet16? Also, any rumblings of them making a 500d version or just new colors in general?
Late to the party…looking for lighter weight Goruck…do you prefer Robic? Dyneema? Neither? All my Gorucks are Codura (older version) and Heritage. And they are heavy, especially as I walk all day and carry a MacBook. I like bags that hold their shape. No slumping when under-packed. Look forward to your opinion…. Great review, as always.
Thank you for watching and for the support! I really liked dyneema but I have been using my robic bags the most. I really like the look and weight, but I also do like floppier bags so dyneema may be a better option for you:)
I ordered the double compartment in the 18L tidal color last night. I intend use it as an only bag carry for a trip to Colorado and a 10 day future trip to Scotland. I was torn between the 16L and the 18L because I'm only 5'2", and Goruck bags seem to be longer, but I ultimately ended up going with the 18L due to wanting to use it as an only bag for traveling. We shall see! Thanks for this thorough review.
Thank you for watching and for the support! The 35l gr3 is definitely tempting, not sure if I’ll be able to get one yet but if I do there will be a video for sure!
Hi Danny, 1. Do you like the lumbar support? 2. Is it in the correct position when the bag is worn? Sorry, where is it located: just above your lower back, or in your spine? 3. Does that affect the way you wear the shoulder strap? Thx🙏
Thank you for watching! Overall I have liked having the lumbar support and haven’t noticed it digging into my bag or anything like that but I would say I don’t wear the bag up as high as I might my gr1
Hi Danny great review as always! I have a question was hoping u can help answer! Do you think the 18l new bullet and also the GR2 34 and 40l can fit the evergoods CAP2 into the outer compartment? Thanks!
Thank you for watching and for the support! I was able to fit the cap2 into the fromt clamshell compartment in this one and the larger gr2 so I’m guessing it would work in the 18l as well
Thank you for watching! So far the double compartment doesn’t stand up too well in my experience. The single compartment does a little better when it’s full and it depends a little on the fabric as well since some of them will hold their shape better
I'm about to buy Goruck double compartment... but the mesh on the 2nd compartment is the deal breaker.. because of that elastic mesh... that will be easily wornout.. and if that wornout... repairing that will be an issue. That will be better if the mesh on the 2nd compartment is the same as the mesh material used in the first compartment.
Thank you for watching and good question! I think that will vary from person to person, the ripstop is pricey and maybe not as rugged feeling as something like 1000d but for me I have really liked how it feels, the weight, the weather resistance
Great review, thanks Danny! It seems Goruck is listening to their customers nowadays and stepping up their game 👍
Thank you for watching and I agree, great to see some cool new options coming out as of late!

Awesome review Danny! I've been curious about these Robic versions. Goruck is really releasing some great options this year 👌
Thank you for watching and I agree, definitely a fan of these past couple of releases!

It’s so easy to compress like it’s not even there honestly.
Good review. I just wish Goruck offered a blacked out version of that 14L bag. And, I wish they had 3 inch wide shoulder straps on both bags.
Thank you for watching and definitely a fair point, wider straps on these would have been great!

Based on my experience with bags, wider straps always win over narrow straps. Period. It's just more comfortable.

Thank you for watching and that sounds like a pretty cool set up!

Hi Danny! love your vids you're the only one to show a much we can really put in a bag ! will you test the GR1 Ripstop Nylon ? thanks
Thank you for watching and for the support! I have a video for the Ripstop GR1 coming very soon!:)

@@dannypacksbut according to website, the size of GR DC-18L is slightly bigger than GR1 21L? Is that true
@@MS-ge2jb I haven't had a chance to try out the 18L in real life so I can't say for sure, but hoping to have a chance to check it out in the future
In 16L, i believe the quick access pocket is almost useless (too small).
I like the concept of this 16 L but I don’t like the shape. It feels too deep considering how narrow it is.
Agree. Just ordered one. Hoping it looks thinner if it’s not filled out 🤞🤞
@liquidbeef How was it? Planning to buy one, as well
Good video as always Danny. The 2 compartment bullet ruck is so tempting. Will you look into the GR3 35L?
Thank you for watching and for the support! The 35l gr3 is definitely tempting, not sure if I’ll be able to get one yet but if I do there will be a video for sure!

There’s GR1/GR2/GR3 in ripstop nylon on the website. Thinking about the bullet 16dc but not too sure about the material.
Thank you for watching! I’m definitely tempted to check those out, my experience with the nylon has been great so far
I think they should have blacked out the logo still
Thank you for watching and I agree, I would have preferred the more subdued look
Is the logo stitching? Could a Sharpie take care of it? @@dannypacks
Do the Bullet backpacks stay upright when placed on the ground?

Please let me know where I can get a Be Kind To Dogs Patch, thanks in advance…have a great weekend!
Thank you for watching! I added a link in the description for the patch if you want to check it out, hope you have a great weekend as well!
Is ripstop good?
Is it worth it?
