I'm finally starting to get what this car is all about. Unlike the P1, LaFerrari, Pagani, etc. this is not meant to be a race car. Though it's one of the fastest car in the world, there's more to it than that. It's one of the fastest cars in the world while being the most reliable and comfortable in its class, which is what differentiates it from everything else. Everyone else is trying to push out as much as possible out of their engines, while bugatti is doing in it without sacrificing anything. For example: 4 twin turbos to increase spool/responsiveness. As opposed to the typical twin turbos, the 4 turbos allow them to use smaller, quicker spooling turbos and still make a lot of power. Then they have a huge engine, again improving spool. A lot of people try comparing this to the Agera just because it's really fast. But, the fact of the matter is that they are two different cars for two completely different purposes.
Different purposes, yes. Completely different, no. In order to actually be *completely* different (and not just being saying that unnecessarily hyperbolic like 99% of you do) then every single aspect has to be different, no matter how tiny, trivial or insignificant it may seem. It must be different in every aspect in its entirety to technically be "completely different." There has to be NO remaining similarities to say that. But there ARE of course at least some shared similarities between the two cars you mentioned. They are both cars, for one :P See, not *completely* different already just from one single glance.
These cars are most definitely in a class by themselves. The level of refinement, cutting edge technology and amazing performance, has set the bar incredibly high in the Supercar arena. Its safe to say that Bugatti is the most innovative and technologically advanced automobile company in the world. These Veyrons are just astonishing to behold. Brilliant design and engineering!!!!
Incredible, I have seen every video, all the UA-cam additions, the real Top Gear (BBC), which each one the Bugatti just gets more amazing. Two Million sure, but there is nothing better
People in these comment sections are mad dumb. I swear. Firstly, do you know how much the Bugatti Veyron costs to build vs. how much they actually sell them for? They're selling them at a severe loss, and to you JDM freaks out there who're saying "you can tune this and that car and end up with 1,000 HP," you're not gonna get that same quality and craftsmanship out of an Evolution, Skyline, or a Supra, not to mention you're *not* gonna touch 250 MPH. In your dreams, maybe. While the Bugatti Veyron is stable at its top speed, you're twitching like crazy by *your* top speed.
yah i forgot about them not proving their 400 kph claims yet, haha I am a koeniggssegg fanboy becasue they built a car that does everything the buggatti does and its a cheaper base price, koeniggsegg actually holds the 0-300-0 kph Guinness record. (so the buggatti has some advantages, and so does the koeniggsegg) plus koeniggsegg doesn't complain about loosing millions per unit, the buggatti guys obviously either chose to make the car as expensive as possible on purpose or they just suck, which i doubt they suck because they built such a sick car, the veyron is more geared towards acceleration and on street performance than the agera, and the agera is geared more towards turning good on and off the track than the veyron, I'm just suspicious when 2 cars are so similiar and one costs way more to build supposedly
Opana Binladen Your lack of knowledge is stunning. Really, it is. The LFA was a vanity project that was a commercial failure from a sales perspective. I've driven one. Have you? There is a documentary on Koenigsegg (that's how you spell it, btw... Ironic that a self-proclaimed fanboy doesn't know that...) in which Christian even talks about the advantage they have BECAUSE they produce so few cars from a cost standpoint. If you knew ANYTHING about tool amortization and development costs, you'd know what he/we are talking about. What Christian is doing is admirable to say the least, but comparing it to Bugatti is absolutely ludicrous... I'm gonna be laughing at this one for a while, "the veyron is more geared towards acceleration and on street performance than the agera, and the agera is geared more towards turning good..." Best.
o and btw, i would rather lack facts and understand the idea of each car than be able to spew off useless numbers, i was wrong about a few of the stats my bad, i think your takin this a lil seriously bra haha
Opana Binladen You do realize the Agera was unable to make it around any of the several tracks they tested it on without crashing, right? The Veyron is beyond capable of taking corners at high speed. Watch the famous "Bleugatti" (a good friend of mine) race a McLaren P1 around High Plains Raceway in Colorado. Watch it on Top Gear's test track. All that money that they put into it goes somewhere; whether it being making it run reliably, or perform well. Volkswagen is more than comfortable losing $3mil on every car because for what they lose on that car, they make up for in sales of all their other cars in just one hour. But have you driven a Veyron? It's one of the most easy to drive cars in the world. There's no trick to it, there's no caution or parameters with how it handles itself both in traffic or on the track, unlike the Koenigsegg CCX-R (the closest thing I can personally compare to the Veyron), which takes the skill of Michael Schumacher to control in 1st gear alone. I guess you can say it does take less skill to drive, but let's face it, that's the point of production cars. They're not marketed to Sebastien Vittel or Mario Andretti, they're sold to Kim Kardashian and Mark Zuckerberg. But knowing useless facts and numbers is always better, because it may be boring, but you'll never be wrong. Opinions are never right or wrong, facts are. Btw, the Venom GT holds the 0-300kmh record, as of 2014. Whether they label it as production car or not is not known, so it could still be the Agera if it's production based, but just an FYI, it's been beaten.
1019wc1019 Not me I wouldn't buy one it's too fussy ... If I had that much I'd still drive something less delicate ,, maybe a Porsche... a Veyron is like a helicopter,, way too much maintenance. Paulie Walnuts Not really it’s kinda primitive compared to what koenigsegg and some other companies are doing. The Bugatti is just more cylinders more radiators more turbos. I mean it’s amazing that they did it but it’s all old school tech in that sense. They didn’t really reinvent anything for this though. I like the idea I’m not a fan of the electric super/hyper cars that will be the future.
I remember as a kid my dad told me stories of how Bugattis were hand made and never spilled a drop of water from the full glass set on the engine. Maybe an urban myth but I like it it was this mythical car in my childhood that I never saw ... then I saw a few in a museum in Sinsheim, Germany as an adult. It was an experience. Glad the company is still doing good.
+twoeightythreez Even if I was a billionaire, it would still feel wasteful to me. Even if you could afford it, not everyone wants to buy a $50 white T-shirt. Same with a $30k oil change. That's why even billionaires don't buy every dream supercar - McLaren F1, Ferrari F40, etc. The novelty wears off after a while and you just stick with a handful of supercars or classics.
Just saw one on my ride back from Dallas finally after being stuck there for two days on my bike in a Texas deluge, tried racing him on my 78 Gs1000 race bike I built and got overtook after 145mph like I was sitting still....
+Lone Wulf I personally like the all-blue carbon Supersport Jay Leno had in his garage, although definitely there are some two-tone colors that really work well together
+gip1279 They usually do some very attention-grabbing paint jobs. I like this one and the all-black one. There is a creme/black that looks good too I think. But when you see these its always that blue and white or something so loud.
Ezven Gonzalez I heard it, it was in my own head when I heard him say they relocated one of the radiators to just below the exhaust. At least is wasn't above the exhaust or behind the pipes. LOL
me personally, I like the delayed power in a car. because when you put your foot down, you know its comin, then about a split second later the car just goes BWAWABWABWBAWBA hahahahah
as much as i love the P1 and the F1, the Veyron's refinement combined with performance is absolute, im sure the modern Hyper cars will run laps around it at the race track, but to cover ground on real public roads, I can't think of a better "hyper grand sport", this thing is absolutely gorgeous, i been watching Lenos garage for about 4 yrs or so, very few times ive seen him smile this much, kinda tells how amazing the experience of driving this car is!
The Veyron is basically a mechanical superstar: -Famous for its extraordinary looks and abilities. -Very high in maintenance. -Most of us will never spend time with it outside of UA-cam. -Has an army of angry haters and fanboys.
I used to see u around Burbank when I lived there. Remember when I saw u jaywalk to get that sat tri tip sandwich at the market on Magnolia. I hollered nice, Jay walk😂😂 And u waved and smiled I wish I could afford a car like this someday. It'll never happen tho, I'm too stupid to make enough money to spend 500,000 on a car😥
Thank You Jay for living our dreams... Hey can you please set up microphones near the exhaust and a camera on the gauges for every car. Right when you say "Lets go for a ride" then start them. Then we can hear the exhaust sound and get the full picture. That would make this perfect show, perfect ;)
Rightt HHand I don't seem to see the issue. If I had a chance to drive one I'd fucking speed to. I would have probably put on another 60-70 mph. Leno can afford one of those things, someone like me...it will never happen. It would be worth the risk of a suspended license. lol
He did that (and more) on a race track in Spain, a race track seven miles long. I want write a pun on "Nurburgring" and "gringo", but I can't quite make it work ... search "sidelong socrates"
it pisses me off so much that everyone thinks that the bugatti is the fastest production car right now and the only reason why is because bugatti isnt letting koeingsegg max out the agera r at their test track in germany because bugatti knows the agera will beat their top speed easy
John Travolta no Christian von koenigsegg confirmed that the agera r top speed could not beat the Veyron super sport. The agera r top speed is 260 mph. It was a theory that it would reach 270 but it did not. The venom gt was the only car to bet the Veyron super sport by 2 mph the Veyron super sport 268.89 while the venom gt is 270 mph.so Christian von koenigsegg made the one:1
Thanks Jay! Amazing video of an amazing car. Would love to see your opinion of the new 2015 Mustang Eco Boost. I just bought one, and love it. It is not a V8 GT like you have seen, but you might be intrigued with the performance!
To be able to own and operate the vast assortment of refined automobiles that Jay is constantly exposed to would just be beyond imagination. Life could never be long enough.
Why do we even bother watching these vids? It's the ultimate torture. Next time i have a spare million laying around, I'll just uber myself to the next bugatti dealer...lol
Jay probably used up $5000 worth of tires in his test drive. I read that the tires last about 5000 miles, and to replace them you have to send the wheels to France, along with about $38,000 bucks. You aren't going to find anything at your Firestone store to put on it. And no one in their right mind would try to mount tires on those wheels. It wouldn't surprise me if you curbed a wheel and broke it that they wouldn't just total the car. LOL And to make it even worse, after four sets of tires you are required to buy new wheels, a bargain at $11,500. A "routine" service will set you back $21,000. If someone gave me one I'd have to park it after the tires wore out. If you hit the lottery real big, you could break the bank trying to own one of these cars. I really don't need a car that'll hit 250 mph. Man I love my 90 Toyota Celica ST. I hit 110 mph in it once, slightly downhill.
I have heard that the upkeep is astronomically expensive. Tires that can withstand 250 MPH are GOING to cost big money. I believe that's why so many cars like this end up being sold with very low miles on them. People buy them, have some fun, then a version of reality sets in. They say, "it IS a great car, but it's not worth it to ME to have $2 million+ tied up in ONE car with a top speed I can't ever use". They end up with several other cars that collectively cost less, but are almost as good for far less money.
That is the point. It is not really a car, it is a Status symbol that can be used as a car for super rich people to flaunt their wealth. The service costs actually aren't too bad considering the cost of the car. If you can afford one, maintenance costs that are higher than most people's annual salaries are pocket change.
Can I just say, I buried the speedo in my 97 tercel, and it stops at 180 kph. I would say I was doing 190-195 ish when It couldn't get it going any faster. And that was a 1.5 liter with 300 000 km on it. 160 km/h is 100 mph so I'd imagine I was going just over 120 mph. Great little car, left shocked faces on many obnoxious civic owners.
505197 If you can afford to spend a couple million dollars on a car you can probably spend that and not really think to much about it. The maintenance cost for such a car is irrelevant, what money they would and have to spend to maintain it they will probably earn it all back within a day
Headlights need to look more aggressive, and anyways, the Veyron is overweight. It really does need that overload of W16 cylinders and FOUR turbochargers, along with tons of radiators. Bugatti, the Veyron is getting kind of tedious. You broke the world record, and pushed the idea that a car with a thousand horsepower was perfectly possible. We get it. They should make a new supercar for record breaking.
Oh my god, seriously? The key-in-ignition chime is the same in this $2 million machine as it is in my mother's 7-year old, $23K VW Passat. Further proof for my pudding--this car is "the most", not "the best". Admirable for sure, a future classic undoubtedly, and I'd drive one without thinking twice if the opportunity presented itself, but suffice to say that this car is not on the top of my dream car list.
You're right. At $2 million you'd expect a custom made key for this car, not some plastic VW key. And what's the point of a starter button when you still have to turn the key? The lack of keyless go is really disappointing..
Dennis Marroquin Well aware, which is more to the point. VW is a huge company with tons of money, and they spent a lot on the Veyron. How much more would it have cost to change the ignition chime, to prevent it from sounding like something that is 50 times cheaper?
Dennis Marroquin i think when someone says the key is the same as a passat, it's safe to assume that he knows that it's owned by VW, i am guessing that aquaticko thought that it would be so obvious that he didn't need to point it out,
allen josef la I classify "fastest" not only as a top speed. No one has access to a 5mile strip of land to achieve 258mph in a veyron SS. but rather acceleration from 0-200mph or so. agera R, venom GT, and zonda all pull past the veyron.
lol the only cars i think that can go faster in top speed is the Agera R, Venom GT, and the Tuatara. Nevertheless i can't afford one. haha so fuck it their all awesome and i love watching them race.
I saw a partially gold plated one (wings, doors and 1/4 panels) outside The Dorchester in Mayfair last August. To all those saying these aren't stunning...there were people all around looking at it and admiring it...nobody looked at the Aventador next to it...or the various Rolls Royce, Ferrari and other high end cars there. This car is just something special. Fact
The reason everybody admires a Veyron isnt technical or performance in nature. Its because our society values people with money to burn and nothing more. The Veyron is a perfect compliment to most of those people, it is dripping with unneeded excess. There really is no reason for its existence other than marketing image.
Im going to purchase one and offered my GTR, Harley and Dodge truck for trade, my payments still come out to 26K a month. So I cancelled cable TV, internet, electricity and water to lower the payments to $25,500 a month. I will be offering rides for a home cooked meal, shower and a sleep on a couch. (gas not included)
I found out that some guy near my house owns a Bugatti Veyron on top of his McLaren MP4, Aston Martin Vanquish, Rolls Royce, Ford Raptor, BMW z4 (latest), Mercedes G, and 2 Lamborghini Gallardos!

"It's no really acceleration, It's teleportation" Roflmaooo!!
Now that's a super car that's not to loud! Perfectly beautiful, it looks and sounds like a million dollar car.
«like a million dollar car” - does not sound as a compliment for a $2 million car
It's all fun and games until the $30K oil service ...
Nah, to the people who buy these 30K is like dropping a few pennies on the ground.
I agree with ***** I don't care who you are - you're gonna notice $30K - dictators and royalty excluded of course.
***** I really wish I was a shitty rapper.
darkpill You only say that out of envy. The VEyron is superreliable.
+twoeightythreez
Even if I was a billionaire, it would still feel wasteful to me.
Will some one please
explain to jay the difference between a blow off valve and a wastgate
Beautifully build. Congrats
Beautifully built. Indeed!
That's one beautiful Veyron. Great colour.
This Bugatti is actually not ugly. I guess it's all in the color.
+gip1279 Glad I'm not alone in that thinking. I think this is the first time I've thought a Veyron looked decent.
+Johnny Kook oh really i hate this ricer plastic shoe color... it looks better in blues and grays and maybe white
But when you see these its always that blue and white or something so loud.
black&creme is a classy one. I like the black&red too, it`s pretty hot but not too in the face..
the passenger looks pretty scared when Jay drives haha
he is responsible for the car, I would too, wouldn't want that crazy italian getting too careless.
@@SuperNevile It's not like Jay is inexperienced driving these kinds of cars.
Its not like its 2 million dollars 😆
Well he did appear to pull a switchblade on him when he first got in the car
Accidents do happen.no matter how good the driver is.an accident in this would make this man lose his job haha
if you put wings on this thing do you think you could get it off the ground?
For once Jay Leno didn’t describe the acceleration as “pulls nicely”
Haters of such a beautiful car. Work of art. Anyone who doesn't like this car has a miserable life.
Props for the camera guy risking his life filming Jay on the chase vehicle...….I hope he gets paid well.
Jay can you review a Bugatti EB110 please?
The sercet best car of the 90's
Does anyone else notice laughing in the background around 5:30?
no, it's just in your head ;)
Ezven Gonzalez I heard it, it was in my own head when I heard him say they relocated one of the radiators to just below the exhaust. At least is wasn't above the exhaust or behind the pipes. LOL
Ezven Gonzalez i did hear the laughing ...i think it was some editing mix up because it sounded like jay lenos laugh
i think it was an editng mistake
I guess Bugatti didn't build cars. ;)
LOVE LOVE LOVE how Jays videos never have prerole ads.
Jay that HUGE wart on your hand will haunt my dreams, YIKES!
forget the wart, look at the car
+Mark A the car looks like a wart.
That's from 50+ years of knuckle busting on automobiles right there.
Here we go...Another mouth full of warts.
Notice the way the guy shakes his hand at the end - avoids the warts.
me personally, I like the delayed power in a car. because when you put your foot down, you know its comin, then about a split second later the car just goes BWAWABWABWBAWBA hahahahah
YES!
as much as i love the P1 and the F1, the Veyron's refinement combined with performance is absolute, im sure the modern Hyper cars will run laps around it at the race track, but to cover ground on real public roads, I can't think of a better "hyper grand sport", this thing is absolutely gorgeous, i been watching Lenos garage for about 4 yrs or so, very few times ive seen him smile this much, kinda tells how amazing the experience of driving this car is!
everything is so breath taking
and then that vw key :D
amazing :D
7:33 seatbelt alarm is VW standard - it sounds just like my Polo :-)
@W W Did I say they should make a new one?
They complain that the VW Phantom had an over price car for a Volkswagen, but they don't complain about the Bugatti.
That wastegate sound is awesome..
Is it WG or in fact blow off?
tomi4m10 BOV
The Veyron is basically a mechanical superstar:
-Famous for its extraordinary looks and abilities.
I hollered nice, Jay walk😂😂
And u waved and smiled
I wish I could afford a car like this someday. It'll never happen tho, I'm too stupid to make enough money to spend 500,000 on a car😥
I think it's the best looking Veyron they have ever built.
Check veyron 669 - lived for a while in Paris now in the Middle East - by far the best looking Bugatti in recent years in my opinion
Thank You Jay for living our dreams...
Hey can you please set up microphones near the exhaust and a camera on the gauges for every car. Right when you say "Lets go for a ride" then start them. Then we can hear the exhaust sound and get the full picture. That would make this perfect show, perfect ;)
I've discovered that the Veyron is pretty amazing. Thanks Jay
2:41 HAHAHA the cheapest and the priciest car in one SHOT!!
hickorydickoryduck Nano
Well spotted! :-)
😂
Nano
More like NO NO 😂
"There's no other car faster or can accelerate harder than this"
Until the Koenigsegg Agera R!
That car is huge yet gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.
OH so he found out the windows go up automatically at 110mph. So jay must of found that out first hand. He admitted to going 110mph.
Majority of their cars aren't even street legal.
121bham nah all about the 1 to one
121bham lol true
John Travolta no Christian von koenigsegg confirmed that the agera r top speed could not beat the Veyron super sport. The agera r top speed is 260 mph. It was a theory that it would reach 270 but it did not. The venom gt was the only car to bet the Veyron super sport by 2 mph the Veyron super sport 268.89 while the venom gt is 270 mph.so Christian von koenigsegg made the one:1
Who cares about top speed anyway?
Thanks Jay! Amazing video of an amazing car. Would love to see your opinion of the new 2015 Mustang Eco Boost. I just bought one, and love it. It is not a V8 GT like you have seen, but you might be intrigued with the performance!
I have a baguette in my garage.
LaidBackFella XD
LaidBackFella is bugatti kid
no
LaidBackFella no
@@xxonyxdriver101xx3 lol, went right over your head kid!
The reason for all the cuts between scenes was due to gas refills.
this is like those huge cars they made for actual rich people in the 20s is what jay was getting at
Here in my garage, just bought this n- Oh wait wrong channel? Sorry
the cop at 9:08 waiting for him to punch it..
+Jacob Hatzenbeller yeah. He would have to call in a chopper or the army jet
Still can't outrun a police chopper with clear skies ahead of it.
To be able to own and operate the vast assortment of refined automobiles that Jay is constantly exposed to would just be beyond imagination. Life could never be long enough.
+servicarrider imagine being one of the top gear blokes, ugh
why am i watching a video of a car ill never be able to afford??
You should replace "car" with "squished bug that weighs more than most mountains" for a more accurate comment
I don't know. Why don't you tell us?
Not with that attitude...
I’ll*
Say what u want but the Veyron looks nice...
Fugly
meh color is bad not for me....
The maintenance cost for such a car is irrelevant, what money they would and have to spend to maintain it they will probably earn it all back within a day
505197
when you have the money to buy this beauty, you dont have the problem to pay the service fees, 30 000k is pocket money for bugatti owners..
The hell kinda VW JETTA key was that at 7:29 on a $million+ car lmao
Grande stupido sorriso sulla mia faccia. Grazie Jay. Questa è sicuramente un'auto dei sogni.
what no burnout there jay//?
its all wheel drive, cant do a burn out with an all wheel drive car unless u set it up, but this car is all stock.
the damn car is to expensive
InfinityCamo like he said awd
twoeightythreez I believe it was a joke
InfinityCamo
1200 hp, it indeed would do a burnout
If everybody who watched this video donated $1 to buy this car....we could still not afford even one.
could now haha
@@donrink9486 I stand corrected.
I mean it took six years.
very exciting, how many bches/second can u get with this?
Headlights need to look more aggressive, and anyways, the Veyron is overweight. It really does need that overload of W16 cylinders and FOUR turbochargers, along with tons of radiators.
Bugatti, the Veyron is getting kind of tedious. You broke the world record, and pushed the idea that a car with a thousand horsepower was perfectly possible. We get it. They should make a new supercar for record breaking.
McLaren did. Called the P1. Ways as much as a VW Golf, Hybrid, 170bhp electric motor assisting the 730bhp v8
Chiron?
Donald Salkovick the Chiron didn’t exist when this comment was written 4 years ago, idiot 🙄

Amazing car. Side note: it's genuinely Jay Leno when there's a shot him driving this week's car with the turn signals accidently going.
what an awesome design.
This Is center to NEW CARS success, in Electric cars. I love the Aero- dynamics on this body.
Chk this Engine design. Turbo charged 16 cyl.
Vv v v vaaarrrrooommm... :-]
a 2 million dollar car, and you need 2 french men to get the roof of?
Because we build it...in Alsace !!!
Can u still tune the buggati or would it be illegal to drive the tuned buggati?
Oh my god, seriously? The key-in-ignition chime is the same in this $2 million machine as it is in my mother's 7-year old, $23K VW Passat. Further proof for my pudding--this car is "the most", not "the best". Admirable for sure, a future classic undoubtedly, and I'd drive one without thinking twice if the opportunity presented itself, but suffice to say that this car is not on the top of my dream car list.
Thank you! You would never ever want to use 1200 horses on the main roads what the heck. There's really no point and the car is UGLY-AS!
You're right. At $2 million you'd expect a custom made key for this car, not some plastic VW key. And what's the point of a starter button when you still have to turn the key? The lack of keyless go is really disappointing..
Vw owns buggati fyi
Dennis Marroquin Well aware, which is more to the point. VW is a huge company with tons of money, and they spent a lot on the Veyron. How much more would it have cost to change the ignition chime, to prevent it from sounding like something that is 50 times cheaper?
Dennis Marroquin i think when someone says the key is the same as a passat, it's safe to assume that he knows that it's owned by VW, i am guessing that aquaticko thought that it would be so obvious that he didn't need to point it out,
looks boss the new chirion looks better
saw one of these in Beverly Hills - -yellow n black. It's unique and gets a lot of attention. 11 radiators? Sheesh!
agera R, venom GT, and zonda are all faster than a veyron SS
sequiaonda78
Do a Google search Genius.
***** do you?
allen josef la
I classify "fastest" not only as a top speed.
@@Synismyhero but veyron is older than these
Is it better than a lembgeny
Sorry, I have never heard of Lembgeny.
Lembgeny?? 😂😹😹😹 I'm dying bruh
Lamborghini..
Producer of Bugatti. More SPEED screw Saftey
The F1 is Jay’s benchmark for everything lol
Designed and built by German engineers.
I found out that some guy near my house owns a Bugatti Veyron on top of his McLaren MP4, Aston Martin Vanquish, Rolls Royce, Ford Raptor, BMW z4 (latest), Mercedes G, and 2 Lamborghini Gallardos!
The guy beside jay was just smiling to the camera and got nothing to say, he knows jay will fall in love with this bugatti!
Koeniggsegg for the win

Jay knows plenty about cars, not just the ones you know about that use turbos.
Loving that paint, not the best for avoiding tickets though I'll bet
