Why do Martial Artists Shout

  • This week, We explore why a lot of kung fu practitioner such as great martial artist Bruce Lee, make a loud kung fu sound before they move. Because sound generates Qi (breath, vital energy) and moves our emotion to get us in the right state of mind and mode. Sound also helps fluidity and pace of quality to match our movement, in turn making our movement even faster and powerful.
Enjoy making Kung Fu sounds :)

Even boxers do this, as you breathe out you get more power. Same with lifting weights.

@@moredatesonplates there was a time where there was this bug where if I replied (maybe via phone, or maybe it was if I had tubebuddy opened, I don't remember what it was) it would someone be to a different comment than the one I'dclicked to respond to... think that's what happened, no idea what that second comment was in response to tho, something on my own channel probably :p

The reason they shout like that is because it gives Energy. Most of the time the noises come out automatically. It's just for energy, nothing else.

Hello Dina i understand some time too much information are not good and can be confuse us :)
I think first we have to ask ourself what we want? instead let's the video or information lead us.
second we have to be pay attention pay a time pay patience for what we want because some time the shortcut can lead us wrong way or running circles.
if you really want to learn or achiev a skill we need start from foundation to top find a school either online or local that teaching step by step but if you just want to know one or two movements or you know exactly what you looking for then i think its good on youtube. hope this helps you little bit :)

I trained Sullum Kungfu when I was young until I was equivalent to brown sash. I'm nearing 50 now and starting for my daughters benefit at a karate school thats in my town. I noticed that when we were doing punches while another held the bags that I would go out of breath and exhausted very very quickly. The guy holding the bag said, your holding your breath! I didn't realize. Of course my age and lifestyle the past 30 years contributed, but when I started making the sounds when I punched, it forced me to breath the breath back in instead of me holding it for as long as I could and then be near to passing out. Sounds stupid, but that was my experience.
