I test rode it and trust me guys it's magic. the engine of an old school and looks for modern roadster is so sexy.

Everyone is criticising HD X440 for the rear end design. For me the bad part is the part of exposed chassis behind steering stem.
Mavrick 440 covers up that portion by tank shrouds. So I think it's a step up.

In my opinion, if they manage to bring out an xpulse 440 with this engine and somehow improve its low end torque, then that would be the master stroke. The one thing that xpulse enthusiasts miss is more power and torque. I hope that hero does this because the Xpulse is a gem of a platform to build upon as it has great potential.
Bruh... It produces 36nm at 4000rpm, what more low end torque you need...?? I don't think any other single cylinder adv in India produces that much torque at that rpm.
yes thats correct the xpulse is leader in sub300cc segment so xpulse 440 will be a massive hit

I hope if they do make the xpulse440, they retain the 'lighter' dual sport character of the xpulse rather than the big ADVs that are hogging the market - himalayan et al.
There have been a number of instances where the bigger XPulse test mules were spotted and all of them have sported the liquid cooled engine. Most probably it'll be based on the same architecture as the XMR's 210cc engine.
It's a gem 💎.The new touring King.And more practical then RE classic.

Its strange that Hero hadn't got to this segment earlier !!
I mean they were already selling their commuter counterparts like hot cakes back in the day & They had potential to make some icons like Karizma ,or the Og hunk but my point is
They never did something out of the box earlier even when they had some great marketting management & funds to invest in R & D !!

Indian manufacturers have failed us big time in delivering what we have been yearning for a long time. Seems like every Indian's dream of owning an affordable twin cylinder under 500cc will never come true. These babus need a major shakeup.

You read my mind i was dreaming of affordable twin cylinder 150cc in 2007, alas the twins did come in the form of ninja 250 but the the pricing was over the roof, even today i dream of one day owning a affordable twin, recently i gave up and bought a husky vitpilen 250
I agree... Hero & bajaj are in the market since more then 50 years but still no twin engine... Looking other countries brands they are going to V4 & inline 6...when i see Honda Goldwing i feel when India will reach this stage when it is so scared on innovation.

We've not tested the Mavrick fully yet, but we think the Hero's a far better bike
If it's have usd forks n some other morden features like , a good screen for navigation. N smartphone connectivity, then it's great because i don't like the regular suspension sockers . I like usd ones.😃

Shumi : Crossing genre's is dangerous as it can easily end up like madness but if done right it can be magical .
Me : Immediately remember's Royal Enfield , Triumph and Harley Davidson modern day day cruisers which have good amount of Electronics .

Hero got their customer loving product which name is xpulse. now Hero should have add some important things which is is must in 2024 that is liquid cooling, 6 Speed gearbox, USD forks, and dual abs with traction control with some cosmetic changes and launch it in powerful engine variants people will definitely purchase it
Ive ridden it 1500km+. It has refinement issues. When you open throttle quickly it kinda bogs down , slight missing. And vibrations after 4k. Comfortable till 100kmph. Past that not so nice. Should have been good till 120km for a 440 . They tightened the engine mount bolts. Now vibrations slightly reduced. Before i was getting through entire rev range.

Which version of mavrick 440 did you got?
For me it looks like it tried to copy the cb300r , but the seat and grab rails just make it too bulky and it hast got usd forks too , makes the small headlight look weird

The weirdly exposed wires on the handle bar is a big deal breaker when i think of buying a bike which costs 2.5 lakh.
I was a little scared with the design but buying this bike is the best decision i made.. design is muscular and the ride experience is amazing ❤

Yeah first service and the service itself was good but I was a little disappointed to stand behind in line with splendor and hf deluxe. I expected to have priority service because I purchased the most expensive hero product, maybe my expectations were misplaced 😔
Which variant of mavrick 440 did you get?, And how is the road presence of this bike, I'm planning to buy one, I liked the base variant white colour more appealing, but it's coming with spoke wheels
Seen this kind of magic if done right.....magic and madness.....220+cc engine producing enough power to give the domi 400 a challenge with better stability and milage

They made this to compete. RE is not the only design language to go for in modern-Retro bikes. Hero did great work here

IMO as a consumer and an enthusiastic biker, I feel Hero should've played with this platform, I mean you got 440 between your legs just making 27.36 PS with 36NM of Torque is something disappointing, they could've made this one sportier atleast 35 PS of power with mono shocks and telescopic front but they just end up another way. What do you think about this Shumi?
Its a Long stroke relaxed kind of Crusier engine. They are working on different engine(sporty) one for Xpulse 440

Is it mavric or hd 440x..??
I need a little help. I am planning for a RE hunter 350. Mostly, I may use it in the city and occasionally for long trips. I am not much concerned about power. Is it advisable to tune the carburetor to increase the mileage? Is it bad for the bike in the long run?? I like the retro variant of it.
Add 50k and get a meteor 350

dont tweak any thing of factory fitted it may void warranty moreover it is fuel injected. Test drive Ronin and other bikes too. For me Hunter suspension felt stiff when I tested it.

This _was_ true perhaps 10-15 years ago. Today, there is significant enough variant for our cc classes, especially in the 400s class.

It should be torque rich not torque heavy...coz torque is the useablilty of power not inheritance
Mavrick comes under Neo rentro genre similar like Yamaha xsr series it is nothing strange this genre exists from a long time.

But think of people who don't like retro bikes because either they are slim or aged or not goon physic ... but they want to ride a bike above 250 or 300cc and with morden/gentleman looks ... i personally not much like for RE or similar...
We get that @amareshsat and Shumi too agrees in the episode that they've done a good job in providing a viable alternative to RE. It's just that the design seemed confused to him. Neither retro, nor modern.

It struck me in the very first instance that Hero is absolutely smitten by the HDX440 or the brand that Harley is ..... and they themselves have turned out to be the stepson of the HDX440...; weird!!!

Hero was supposed to revive here in India! Laughable!! 😂 Worse.... they did come up with neither here, nor there kind of wheels!
Well that's kind of ironic. The Mavrick platform was created _before_ Hero had a tie-up with Harley. In that sense, the X440 might have to come to market first, but it's the second bike.
Hero had raised their game with XPulse, and instead of focussing on levelling up they just came up with an absolutely mediocre product in Mavrick!!! What a disappointment!!
We don't think the Mavrick is mediocre though. The design doesn't do enough to make it attractive, but the bike is actually excellent.
