"don't put your dispenser ON TOP of a health pack or you can't pick them up" I sometimes like to do that to ammo packs or medpacks, if I don't think I will need them myself. It's a tiny hindrance to enemy spies but also enemy scouts/soldiers who step behind the front lines. If they want the health/ammo, they have to destroy your dispenser. This will alert you and possibly your team. They may also need to reload to do that. It may seem like no big deal to reload 2-3 shots, but if you're burning or retreating from a fight with low health, then having to destroy a dispenser before grabbing some health can be a huge problem. You're giving dispenser armor to a medpack.
You're also taking that medpack away from your teammates, though. It's gotta be quite the balancing act to figure out whether it's more likely to be useful than harmful.

Coming back to this video, I wonder how different a majority of engineer players would be if the "Meet the Engineer" video showed him running his ass off, scrounging for metal/ammo, desperately balancing the construction of his buildings as his team is nowhere to be seen. He fights against Scouts, Spies, Demos, etc., BARELY able to keep himself and his buildings alive. It soon becomes too much for him to manage, but just in the nick of time his teleporter finally comes online and his team begins showing up to help him out. Personally I feel that the "turtling" style of the engi is so popular because the video itself encourages that sort of mentality, with Engineer literally sitting down doing nothing while his guns take care of the work. If the video showed him being more active and more realistically frantic as he tries to keep his buildings up, I think more players would've subconsciously started playing more aggressively.
I can confidently say that might have been what they intended because the tutorial teaches to put all of the buildings next to each other as well. The guitar-playin and calmly sitting reflects the turtle lifestyle of standing far behind the frontline, waiting for people to come to you and chillin with dispensers up the A$$
Meanwhile in meet the demoman, Wait a minute... PILLS DON'T INSTANTLY EXPLODE IF THEY BOUNCE OFF THE GROUND! A'm gonnta geev valve ah piece o' my mind...
Really, it depends on how confident the medic is, a good medic simply cannot be topped by a dispenser. An average Pub medic can be topped by the Pretty Boys Pocket Pistol.
Not a thief You see them shooting at sentries with the needle gun. Also they don't know how to deal with the trajectory of the needles so they treat it like an hitscan weapon only to make those needles fall into the ground some meters in front of them
Hey look buddy, I'm a dispenser.. That means I give you health and ammo.. Not to the enemies, but to heavies screaming ''Poot dispenser here!'' because that would fall within the perview of your conundrums of philosophy.
Kept a dispenser up for 40 minutes on a 2fort server in the enemy fort, we had 3 heavies and basically spawncamped blu the entire game. The only blu thing that touched the bridge that game was their ragdolls
As a pyro main I can say that everytime I am on low health and I get saved by a dispenser I will just "I shall protect this dispenser with every cell of my being."
"Does this mean I get to build a dispenser now?" Oh no! You can't build a dispenser without first understanding the phrase... TURD! "TURD?" Once you understand "TURD", you'll understand your place in the team. But what does TURD mean? It's actually a carefully organized code. Watch closely: Teammates Usually Request Dispensers "Ahh, TURD!" Looks like Engie understands TURD! Here's a typical Heavy. I wonder what he wants! Well if we just remember TURD, we can figure it out! "ENGINEER!" Do you think he's going to order A: A sandvich, B: an expensive hat, or C: a dispenser? "POOT DISPENSER HERE!" Ah, TURD, you never let us down!
You can build a Sentry and a Dispenser if you build a Dispenser first, but you can only build a Sentry if you build the Sentry first, so you are correct at building the Dispenser first.
I feel overwhelmingly lucky that I watched Tftubers way before I actually started playing TF2, even though I'm still crap at the game I at least know where to put a dispenser
Close to the front without being exposed to enemy attacks or exposing your teammates to attacks while using it. If you got a rescue ranger you do not need to shove it up your ass to get metal when you need it to fix the sentry gun. If my metal is running low I take out the rescue ranger and continue repairing it with the metal I have left as I retreat to the dispenser. I continue repairing as needed from afar while I am filling metal at the dispenser and then switch back to my wrench when I run back to the sentry gun with max metal. Of course its vital you keep the rescue ranger fully loaded at all times, take every opportunity you can to reload when the enemy team temporarily ceases attacking the sentry. More inexperienced engies tend to forget to reload it when they are done using it for the moment, and then end up shit creek without a paddle when they need to use it for a quick save only to find the thing is empty and cannot fire.
In your Quick-fix rant, there's an error. You typed "and" instead of "all" at one point, making that sentence confusing at first. This is a frustrating, and, quite frankly, disturbing mistake that you must fix immediately.
Even though said Quick Fix rant is actually wrong and the Ubercharge has been justified in lore as being the prototype Medigun that shorted out after the Meet the medic and was reverse engineered for Megaheal?
Frankly, there is a grammatical error in your argument. We’re you said “This is a frustrating, and, quite frankly, disturbing mistake” you forgot to put an “a” in between “frankly” and “disturbing”. I suggest you seek out and fix this error immediately in order to make your point clearer.
To: Eric Smith From: tf2fan2002 Subject: DISTURBING MISTAKE IN THE MEET THE MEDIC VIDEO I regret to inform you that there is a terrible mistake in your Meet The Medic video. The medic uses a QUICK-FIX in order to grant invulnerability to the Heavy Weapons Guy, but ACTUALLY in-game the Quick-Fix only increases the healing rate to 300% and removes and movement impairing effects for the duration of the charge! I hope you take action to correct this awful and frankly disturbing mistake very soon, because it is very misleading and I hate it so much that I want to die.
To: Eric Smith From: tf2fan2002 Subject: MISTAKE DISCOVERED IN MEET THE ENGINEER (DO NOT IGNORE) Okay, so now this is just getting ridiculous, Valve. First, you take away all of the epic troll Engie spots on Upward where you can build a teleporter under the ground, then you take away QUICKPLAY (I know we said we hated it back when it replaced the server browser, but NOW we f*cking love it). THEN I find this disturbing, awful mistake in your Meet the Engineer video: in this video, the Engineer is able to build MULTIPLE SENTRY GUNS AT ONCE. THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE IN-GAME, VALVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dispensers have, in my opinion, the best design of any of the Engineers tools. Including all of his weapons. It looks like Engie stole some Pac-Man cabinet and some 50s car parts and made a tiny vending machine of death.
@@lopezgonzalezfrancisco4731you remember those "if a bot updated tf2" videos, where one of the changes was letting engineer build an infinite amount of sentry guns? yeah, that's basically what you will see.
I'll try to explain this to the best I can. The publicity blurb for the Quick-Fix states, "War historians will appreciate the original medigun- still handy even though the invuln function shorted out after its first use." So the quick fix HAD an invuln ubercharge, difference is that it didn't affect the Medic himself like stock. However we can see this is the "first use" that these historians are referring to and after it shorted out and now the ubercharge is permanently changed to a super fast healing/movement impairing negating uber. So all quickfixes essentially had the invuln ubercharge but to make them unique from stock, all handed out quickfixes are ubered once so the invuln function shorts out and then handed to the Medic so they'll always have the fast heal uber instead. I don't know, just thinking aloud here
2:56 I know this is a joke, but they did actually explain that on the Uber Update page back when Meet the Medic first came out: the Quick-Fix was the original prototype for the Medi Gun, but the invulnerability function burnt out after the first use (in Meet the Medic). But it still has much better than normal regeneration capabilities, hence why it’s available alongside the “modern” Medi Gun. Don’t ever doubt Valve’s attention to detail. The wrong gun in one video actually has an entire paragraph of lore explaining why. For Pete’s sake, they spent *seven years* building up the conclusion to a “yo momma” joke from Meet the Spy. Friggin’ Valve, man.
I feel like meet the pyro didn't portray her role either. He shouldn't just run in their and burn everything head on. That'll get her killed. He's more of a support/defence class.
What they could have done for the meet the engineer vid is make teleporter in the background with people teleporting to the front, with people running back for ammo from a Despenser in the background
i think you just have shit teacgers or you expect them to entertain you not educate you solution to the first problem:tell your teacher that they have a hard time paying attention solution two: Suck it up buttercup and just listen otherwise youll endup with a deskjob or on the side of the road
Addendum to 11:20 - put your dispenser ON the health pack, so that enemies can't take it but your teammates can. Some soldiers and demos will die breaking it. Bonus if a sentry is nearby. It also lets your teammates avoid choosing between dispenser or hp, instead getting the best of both. Dane says you can't pick it up, but that's only during building, while placement is done in half the time. If you can afford this amount of time, put it on the hp and when you need the hp, pick up dispenser, grab hp, put it back
This should be updated to mention that the ammo-through-walls trick no longer works

Maybe have him at the end of fighting everything he sits on a pile of corpses playing a guitar.
I can confidently say that might have been what they intended because the tutorial teaches to put all of the buildings next to each other as well. The guitar-playin and calmly sitting reflects the turtle lifestyle of standing far behind the frontline, waiting for people to come to you and chillin with dispensers up the A$$

The best thing about good dispenser placement is beating all the medics in healing done at the end
judging by the average pub medic's "very high" skill level I think you could beat them in healing done by eating about 2.4 sandviches
As a pub medic main who takes pride in always having top heals, that would hurt my pride a good deal...
Really, it depends on how confident the medic is, a good medic simply cannot be topped by a dispenser. An average Pub medic can be topped by the Pretty Boys Pocket Pistol.

Oh no! You can't build a dispenser without first understanding the phrase... TURD!

the age old prom night question: Where do i put it?
Where your team is and not up your ass, thanks.
Way too good lol

In your Quick-fix rant, there's an error. You typed "and" instead of "all" at one point, making that sentence confusing at first. This is a frustrating, and, quite frankly, disturbing mistake that you must fix immediately.
Even though said Quick Fix rant is actually wrong and the Ubercharge has been justified in lore as being the prototype Medigun that shorted out after the Meet the medic and was reverse engineered for Megaheal?
weird how the rockets didnt move the ubered heavy unless that was a combination of stock and quickfix uber??
Frankly, there is a grammatical error in your argument. We’re you said “This is a frustrating, and, quite frankly, disturbing mistake” you forgot to put an “a” in between “frankly” and “disturbing”. I suggest you seek out and fix this error immediately in order to make your point clearer.

Subject: DISTURBING MISTAKE IN THE MEET THE MEDIC VIDEO
I regret to inform you that there is a terrible mistake in your Meet The Medic video.

Okay, so now this is just getting ridiculous, Valve.
Bryce Cai Its possible to Build More than 1 Sentries.
+heck yeah alright show me how you can build more than one sentry.
Alessio Fantini console command build
+heck yeah ok m8 now go to casual game and place like 4 sentries on choke points.

"The age old prom night question... Where do I put it?"
Uncle Dane...
Meanwhile, the teleporter exit forgot to be built
I keep coming back to these for the "BUT UNK-UL DAYYYYYEN..."
I don't know, just thinking aloud here
Suicidal Bra Strap what is your profile pic lol
I always thought that the Medic wasn't affected by the uber because he didn't have his heart upgrade transplanted yet, unlike the Heavy he ubered.
not to mention the quick fix is made out of a blender and in the level display is called a prototype which explains why it shorted out
the QF burned out after the Meet The Medic short.
the medigun he uses is the QF.
it _was_ one hell of an uber tho......
I just got the "Where do I put it?" question at 5:20. You got me Dane, you got me good.
I just understood it
You never realize you miss something till it's not built 😔
8:33 I was expecting a "God Gaben" meme, but that works too

Addendum to 11:20 - put your dispenser ON the health pack, so that enemies can't take it but your teammates can. Some soldiers and demos will die breaking it. Bonus if a sentry is nearby. It also lets your teammates avoid choosing between dispenser or hp, instead getting the best of both.
Dane says you can't pick it up, but that's only during building, while placement is done in half the time. If you can afford this amount of time, put it on the hp and when you need the hp, pick up dispenser, grab hp, put it back
