Dane, could you PLEASE do a wrangler tutorial? You're the only engine main on UA-cam. Nobody has a video on how to use it. I've been trying to use it but I can never seem to make it useful outside of sentry jumping.
Use it when: - an enemy hassles you from around a corner and abuses the time the sentry takes to "lock on" - an ubered opponent pushes in (66% damage reduction) - a spy is coming for your sentry and you know where they are but your sentry isn't sapped yet and they aren't in close range - sentry jumping - if the opponent tries a large push, use it to target specific enemies (medics first, then soldiers, then demos, then anyone else)
Clay Dawson you can also use it to hit people outside of the sentries normal range, ignore bonked scouts or uber hatted players in favour of unprotected people with it, clear stickies (blasting them away or shooting them) knock back ubers (the elevator to heaven is a hilarious side effect of someone trying to jump onto a sentry whilst ubered), kill just about anybody you are confident you can hit twice as fast as before and especially tank more damage whilst you find metal or reload your rescue ranger.
I'll try to explain this to the best I can. The publicity blurb for the Quick-Fix states, "War historians will appreciate the original medigun- still handy even though the invuln function shorted out after its first use." So the quick fix HAD an invuln ubercharge, difference is that it didn't affect the Medic himself like stock. However we can see this is the "first use" that these historians are referring to and after it shorted out and now the ubercharge is permanently changed to a super fast healing/movement impairing negating uber. So all quickfixes essentially had the invuln ubercharge but to make them unique from stock, all handed out quickfixes are ubered once so the invuln function shorts out and then handed to the Medic so they'll always have the fast heal uber instead. I don't know, just thinking aloud here
Engy priorities should be 1. When rolling out teleporter sentry dispenser 2. When pushed back but survived dispenser sentry teleporter 3. When pushed back and killed Teleporter dispenser sentry 4. idk. The meet the team videos are pretty old, and the engineer didn't always have dispensers and teleporters. At some point, levels weren't a thing too.
Dispenser:mabye if someone actually cared if some one could show the people what I mean to a successful round of tf2 Me: mabye the guy who LITTERALLY BUILDS A DISPENSER IN HIS INTRO could help you with that
Memawandpatrick that's fucking stupid, build dispenser, then sentry, while dispensers are extremely important, sentries are no laughing stock, use both smartly
heres what you do walk out of spawn build entrance now place exit somewhere next build dispenser pick up ammo build sentry warp back to spawn switch jag upgrade tele to level 3 switch stock warp back in upgrade your dispenser to level 2 take ammo pack upgrade sentry from 1 to 3 then upgrade dispenser
Memawandpatrick it always should be situative. if enemies keep pressure on your position - focus sentry. if not - focus dispenser. sentries are also very important - its a cover your team relies on. if you have sentry it will slow down the enemies, giving your teammates escape. but if u have a lvl3 dispencer and dont have the sentry, enemies will just chase your teammates and finish them of, often with your dispenser. so dont build something blindly, look at the situation. but ANYWAY a lvl 1 dispenser MUST be, at least to estinguish people.
A level 2 and 3 dispenser only heals and gives ammo marginally better than a level 1, but a level 2 sentry deals twice as much damage as a level 1. You should always get your sentry to level 2 before upgrading your dispenser.
Fun fact. The reason why medic is using a quick fix in meet the medic was because in the animation that was a prototype for the medi gun and its ability to Ubercharge. (Which, apparently shorted out quickly after and was referbrished into the quick fix, while medic perfected the Ubercharge with his stock medigun we all know and love) Multiple signs show this such as medic just having given heavy his baboon heart, they fact he has no idea if it will even work, and the surprised look on heavy face when he's closed ba k up so easily after his "surgery" since you'd think seeing grevious wounds on him close up like paper cuts thanks to medic to be normal
This should be updated to mention that the ammo-through-walls trick no longer works

"hey"
-Dispenser
This is an ancient video from back when tf2 got updates
The first thing I ever build as engineer is the dispenser
11:15 actually had me in tears
I remember searching up tf2 fanart and I saw some "graphic art" of the dispencer
The problem with the meet the engineer video is that dispensers probably weren't a thing when it came out.
Supershadow301 that's stupid of course it was out
idk. The meet the team videos are pretty old, and the engineer didn't always have dispensers and teleporters. At some point, levels weren't a thing too.
Levels weren't a thing at release, but Dispensers and Teles did exist.
dispensers exist in team fortress classic
Weird ass PSA
Funnily enough, the lore behind the QuickFix is that it was a... quick fix.
Medic burned up the parts that allow a stock Uber on that first run.
Dispenser:mabye if someone actually cared if some one could show the people what I mean to a successful round of tf2
Me: mabye the guy who LITTERALLY BUILDS A DISPENSER IN HIS INTRO could help you with that
Does anyone else always do a level 3 dispenser before a sentry?
Memawandpatrick no
Memawandpatrick that's fucking stupid, build dispenser, then sentry, while dispensers are extremely important, sentries are no laughing stock, use both smartly
heres what you do walk out of spawn build entrance now place exit somewhere next build dispenser pick up ammo build sentry warp back to spawn switch jag upgrade tele to level 3 switch stock warp back in upgrade your dispenser to level 2 take ammo pack upgrade sentry from 1 to 3 then upgrade dispenser
9:50 WTF IS THAT A 15 INCH RULER?
"The age old, prom night question; where do I put it."
Is something they I only get this now that I'm 18
Fun fact. The reason why medic is using a quick fix in meet the medic was because in the animation that was a prototype for the medi gun and its ability to Ubercharge. (Which, apparently shorted out quickly after and was referbrished into the quick fix, while medic perfected the Ubercharge with his stock medigun we all know and love)
Multiple signs show this such as medic just having given heavy his baboon heart, they fact he has no idea if it will even work, and the surprised look on heavy face when he's closed ba k up so easily after his "surgery" since you'd think seeing grevious wounds on him close up like paper cuts thanks to medic to be normal
