Labyrinth, Legend, and The Neverending Story were my childhood trifecta. Man, to be a kid curled up on the sofa watching them was just magic.
@TxofficialGrimmlifecolle-lv8ph why don't you just take your scams off this platform?
Saw them all on the big screen. The Dark Crystal, Flight of the Navigator, D.A.R.Y.L., Last Starfighter, it was an amazing time to be a kid
@@veganbadass Dont forget Legend as well!
@@demonoid7469 Yes, I added to the films that Boogiedaddy had already mentioned
This was a time when they weren't relying on CGI. It shows in the pride these people took to make an enduring movie.
R.I.P. David Bowie 💔😭
Indeed, He was a legend.
He’s been dead for over 8 years. How long are you going to keep leaving that comment on anything related to him? If you’ve got nothing else to offer then offer that instead: nothing.
@@radish6691 lol, are you going around following that user and saying that? That's creepy, man.
Labyrinth is a classic. If you're a 70s or 80s baby you got into this film when it came out. It was a great time in cinema.
Even my daughter born in o6 is obsessed. Has always loved this movie and David Bowie. Knows every word to the movie. Classic 🤩
I still have my original ticket stub
This movie defined so many of our 80’s childhoods. What a gem. And thanks for showing us the locations!
OMG 😮 This is my absolute all-time favorite film because it has EVERYTHING in it: light horror, fantasy, handmade effects, best atmosphere, humor, love, wonderful friends, incredibly great ideas and last but not least a great score and great songs by the great David Bowie. The ending of the film is one of the best I've ever seen and the characters are just awesome, especially Sir Dydimus. I remember that as a teenager, after the film, I borrowed the soundtrack as an LP from the school library bus, copied it onto a MC tape and listened to it over and over again on my Walkman while I rode my BMX bike around the area. I saw the movie first on Betamax Video, later on VHS, then I owned 2 DVD Versions and now 2 BluRay Versions. For all these reasons, this film is and remains my No. 1 and after that come films like Jaws 1+2, Highlander, The Crow, A Nightmare On Elm Street 1+3, Trick'r'Treat, Fright Night 1+2, Evil Dead 2, Braindead ('Dead Alive' in America), The Blob (1988), Bill & Ted 1-3 and so on. So thank you for this wonderful post 🙏 Maybe I should think about traveling to there, too, because it's not soooo far away from Köln 😁
Ich komme mit 😂
Same. Same in everything you said, lol.
Fright night 1 and 2 were great movies 😂 Roddy McDowell as Mr Vincent 😂
I absolutely agree I loved that movie too that is so cool that they are at the same park in the begining scene 👍👍
You should go there👍😀✨
The imagery in 80s films can never be matched. They stick with you forever. Such a magical time. Great video guys.
Labyrinth will always be one of my favourite 80’s movies. The puppetry, Jennifer Connelly, David Bowie! Can’t get any better.
One of David Bowies best movie. RIP Sir David Bowie, we miss you:))
A child hood dream come true! Labyrinth is a classic to remember and seeing Jessica run across the bridge multiple times made me smile. Thank you Grimm's that was an amazing adventure!!
I was born in 1971. I fell in love with Jennifer Connelly when I aw this film. Not even Bowie's hilarious spray-on pants could distract me from Jennifer.
This movie’s soundtrack is in my playlist ;) “Goblin King Goblin King wherever you may be, come and take this child far away from me” Who doesn’t love this movie? ♥️🦉
No! dat's not It! :(
This and Never Ending Story are both my favorite movies of all time. Such great memories ❤
I think you two should be Jareth and Sarah for Halloween this year. I grew up with this film and I have nothing but happy memories of it. I think if I had to pick a favorite scene, it'd be the ballroom fantasy/"As The World Falls Down". Jim Henson was a wonderful human being, as well as a great talent. I wish he knew how much love there is for this film (and The Dark Crystal).
I literally just watched this, yet again for the billionth time, on Peacock. Mr. Henson was killing it in the 80's. This was just 4 years after The Dark Crystal...
A fun although brief adventure. I was fortunate enough to have seen Bowie in concert back in the 80's on the Serious Moonlight Tour. RIP legend, musical genius, one of my all-time favorites.
I was born in '86, so the year Labyrinth came out. I eventually watched it in the early 90s on VHS and it became one of my favorite films as a kid. I bugged my parents to buy the tape and they did. I must've worn it out.
Me too 😊
The Hell fire caves in West Wycombe are really cool if you had time to visit them. Lots of history.
I clicked on this notification so fast! Labyrinth is one of my favorite movies that still stick with me even to this day from my childhood. That, Dark Crystal and Never-Ending Story. Yes, I'm always going to be a Jim Henson/Henson Studios fan.
Labyrinth had some amazing music and Sarah's dress from the masquerade scene is still something I'd love to eventally make just to say I did it.
To this day, I still say "Ello" to people too. That little worm is amazing.
I had the fortunate joy of seeing my favorite character from the film, Sir Didymus, in person for the puppet at the puppetry museum in Atlanta when we went for the Dark Crystal exhibit and I had no clue they also would have some Labyrinth stuff there. I fan girled so hard at that and took so many pictures and video of him. It was in fantastic conditon still and will forever be something I cherish.
Also, rest well David Bowie. Gone, but never forgotten. ❤❤❤
Thank you! I’ve been waiting for someone to do this. Subscribed. Also, I love the moment when Sarah starts running in the rain. She reveals she’s wearing jeans and *not* living in a fairy tale world.
I'd watch the labyrinth on repeat on VHS I was so obsessed with that movie. I would wear out the VHS tape then somehow return it and rent it out again. There's so much to love about that movie.
I was born May 6 1976 so I was 10 in 1986 when this movie came out in theaters. It at first didn't do well with mix review, but over times it becomes a cult classic. Thanks Mike for sharing this. Rest in peace 🕊️ David Bowie.
Great pick of locations!
Labyrinth is such a legendary movie. The songs were playing. I'm my mind when I was watching this.
Today's youth need more fun movies like this one.
The guys throwing their heads really f’d me up as a kid but I love the song they sing. ❤️🔥
Labyrinth and dark crystal are two of my all time favorite movies and this is so cool
Same here
I love this movie and David Bowie was an artist of amazing talent. I was able to see him three times in concert and I will never forget the shows he put on.
Thank you for showing us the filming location and telling this story.
My jaw was on the floor through this entire video--just amazing. Thank you for sending me back in time!
I absolutely adore the film, Labyrinth. I am also a David Bowie fan. I love Jim Henson films. To me, Labyrinth is magical. It's a timeless classic that can be enjoyed by all ages. :)
I love that movie too. Labyrinth is so unique, Bowie no words. I would recommend a book from Brian Froud, designer of the goblins, amazing art. His son played the baby. There's also a book from Froud about the dark crystal, where he was involved. No words Bowie, Jim Henson, Brian Froud so talented people.
I cant believe that starting was filmed in the UK, I can't look back on my childhood the same way. This changes everything.
I’m a 90’s baby and I love Labyrinth, can’t believe this film is nearly celebrating 40 years
Finally a video on one of my favorite movies from the 1980s.
Labyrinth is my all time favourite childhood movie 😍🙌🏻 I can watch it literally everyday and still love it !
Jim Henson & David Bowie are heroes of mine , loved this vlog guys , really dear to my heart 🤎🔮🦉
Haven't seen this movie in years and don't honestly remember much about it. However, I know I enjoyed it very much. At that time I wanted that hair Bowie was sporting. Wicked cool for rocking out on stage.
I’ve been obsessed with Labyrinth since I saw it in the cinema when I was 12 years old
This is still not only one of my favorite childhood movies but is still one of my favorites ❤
Labyrinth, one of my favourite films ever, glad to see Jessica having fun in the park. Jim Henson was a legend.
The fact that a swan was in the background during this shoot was fricken epic! Also, the shot of the sky… was I the only one that saw a beak and eye of an owl!? 🤔
Thank you for visiting this amazing location, Labyrinth is my childhood and cannot get enough of it. It also shows how beautiful England is! Absolutely stunning.
I just always kind of assumed it was all filmed on a sound stage. It's really cool to think that there are a few actual filming locations that still exist today, mostly unchanged by time. One of my favorite movies growing up.
David bowie loved Transylvania...
Heckons yes! Can’t wait to give this a watch. One of my childhood favorites! Thanks for sharing!
My Daughter loved this when it came out, She was 5 years old. Great Kiddie Movie!

You put a lot of work into researching these locations, as well as traveling and filming. I'm so glad you did this. It was a magical movie from my youth.
Very cool. Absolutely love this movie. It was my ultimate childhood movie growing up.
This movie is a national treasure for anyone of any age. Terrific job guys in bringing the magic back and taking us back in time to this beloved movie.
You remind me of the babe (what babe?)
Babe with the power (what power)
Power of voodoo (who do?)
You do (do what)
Remind me of the babe!
One of my all time favs was and still is Labyrinth with the late great David Bowie who was born to play Jareth and can’t imagine anyone else who could have pulled it off.
I miss David Bowie!
My all time favorite movie With David Bowie, he is such a legend in this movie

I grew up in West Wycombe, the monuments were fake I never saw them there growing up. I love the Labyrinth I never get tired of watching it and David Bowie no one could replace him. I heard talk about a remake you can't remake this film the same as Rocky horror should never be messed with

Thanks for sharing. I loved the film ever since I was a kid, and recently bought it on 4K. It’s so beautiful. I now have to visit that bridge! I’m only the other side of London, it’s a couple of hours away. I had no idea.
Loved watching this movie when ever possible. I just adore David Bowie in it. A great fantasy movie , an icon of it's kind for sure. Have fun on y'all's journeys in the UK 🖤🎃
Thank you so much for doing this video. First because Labyrinth is one of my favorite movies and second because I also adore Jim Henson‘s work, but even more so because you visited Nyack, New York which is very close to my hometown. I have been living abroad for some time now and it always does my soul good to see others also enjoying their time there! Thanks for the virtual visit 🤗It’s a lovely place! So much history and timeless architecture!!
What a classic excellent film brings back happy memories 😊
AWESOME!!!!! Labyrinth is out of this world!! I MISS David Bowie!!!😣😣😞😞❤❤, Thank you for sharing, You guys ROCK!!
I just saw that movie last year and David Bowie was perfect as the Goblin King. I can't imagine no one else playing that role. I loved that scene that he's singing and dancing with the baby, that song is amazing. Glad you got this video together, It was well worth it you two.
Lovely video! RIP David Bowie.

Crazy that the first time I have watched Labyrinth was early this year even though I had a huge crush on Jennifer Connelly growing up. 😅
The labyrinth is in my top 3 movies ever!!! David Bowie was phenomenal in the movie. Man I’d love to go to these places some day
I always thought it was filmed in America. One of my all time favourite films. I watch it at Christmas. along with Muppet's Christmas Carol. Awesome Time Warp Video.
My first film I watched at a cinema aged 6. Lived it. P.s., although there is no David Bowie grave, his parents are buried in my hometown of Doncaster, uk. Place called Hyde Park cemetery- as David Bowie's family came from Doncaster before they moved to London when he was little.
Omg just watched this twice in two diffrent countries and am amazed you guys did this vid!!!
Worth every second of the wait and a great start to the GLC UK TOUR. Thanks for dragging us across the Atlantic.
