- Well you can’t win them all! I had such high hopes for this guy and his line of frozen food. But deep down inside I had a bad feeling about this one. Better luck next time Gordon!

Also, it's one of the few (probably first) times he didn't finish his food. His review of IHOP was pretty scathing but he did finish his food. It is THAT bad.

I don't think I've ever seen a frozen/fresh ready meal of fish and chips in the UK include tartar sauce. Some do include mushy peas though. Wed call those fish bites (normally aimed at kids), and majority of ready meals would be with a full fish fillet of cod or haddock

The only frozen fish I have ever seen with "tartar sauce" was Mrs. Paul's. And that was just a packet of relish that you put into your own mayonnaise. It made good tartar sauce, but its wasn't prepared sauce. Mayonnaise doesn't freeze well, it separates.

Not all, some of it are either good or decent it's just that this, the crab cakes, and some fish related frozen foods he sells are like the most foul, although to be fair the chips are pretty good, if only he just sold just that because frozen fish never ends well, his Mac and cheese and Shephard pie are pretty good tho. This is coming from a broke frozen food connoisseur.
Imo his hex pans using the carcinogens, not a fan.

@traphimawari7760 I laugh every new episode of the new hells kitchen because of this. They have these stock shots going through the kitchen showing off Gordon's pans. But every time they cook the kitchen is stocked with normal Sautee pans. Guaranteed there's not a single hexclad pan in any of Gordon's restaurants

When you first took them out of the bag the fish looked more like pale little biscuits. After you got them out if the oven they looked like a chunkier version of fish sticks. Well I guess the taste wasn't as good or better than they looked. But Happy New Year to Kev, his family, loved ones and everyone in the comments.
Mayo with dill relish works in a pinch. To step it up, a a little lemon juice and a little grated onion. Quick and simple.

LMAO!! I knew this would be bad... I love that malt vinegar. I always have some on hand. I use the vinegar before any tartar sauce. In New England I like the Cod or the Haddock best. I find most of the frozen fish soggy and like mush when cooked. Great video!!

As a British person, pollock is seen as a lower quality fish than cod for fish and chips, even though it's the same family. I would always choose cod or haddock over pollock. The only plus side of pollock is sustainability.

This is why I always have mayo, dill, garlic powder, Dijon mustard, and sweet pickle relish.
Mix mayo and relish together and you have tarter sauce

When I saw Gordon Ramsay doing Triscuit ads, it finally became clear to me that he now thinks exclusively in terms of content and cash grabs. I think it's fair to really wonder when was the last time the guy really gave a damn about food. I have no doubt that Gordon Ramsay could still cook a vastly better meal in his sleep than 99.9% of people on this planet sweating over every detail---but it's also really not clear when was the last time he was in the kitchen of one of his own restaurants running a dinner service.
Btw Triscuits are my favorite cracker/chip of all time, I'm taking a dig at Gordon Ramsay here, not at Triscuits.
