Bobby: "What if somebody likes Miracle Whip?"
Hank: "We ask them politely, but firmly, to leave."
Gladly 🤮
The only man who could get me to watch a mayonnaise video and think it's interesting. Very well done sir ❤
Same! And I don't even like mayo! 😂 I think I might give the kewpie a try tho, since it's so different! Thanks Kevmo! 😍
Kewpie is absolutely delicious. That rich fatty flavor definitely helps combat the sodium from most Asian foods.

@@colleenmeiring2604no literally I’m not a fan of Mayo but for some reasons Kiev’s chicken salad had me salivating 😅
You make a great point, for reference whenever i saw the weird title of this video i took a double take to see who posted it then I see kevmo posted it, auto click
Duke's is my main squeeze, but according to my research Kewpie only uses egg yolks in their mayo, so when you said it tastes more eggy that's probably why. It's definitely richer than any other I've tried.
I’ve always thought it tasted like a Hollandaise sauce
Kewpie, I believe it also has more vinegar.
@@Byrd21590 Duke's is definitely made with vinegar. That's one reason I like it so much lol
@@Byrd21590Kewpie may have more vinegar, but I know that it tends to use rice vinegar or a blend rather than plain white distilled like the others.
It also tends to have added MSG, in addition to the use of yolks in place of whole eggs, as op commenter noted.
@@brett8940 Yes, you are correct. I was mistaken.
I agree with your verdict. The reason Kewpie tastes mustardy is because they add vinegar and MSG. The other distinction is egg yolks that allow it to solidify when heated as with a dish like dynamite. I also grew up on original Best Foods and had come to really like their olive oil variation. Kraft makes a very acceptable alternative in the olive oil category. Dukes uses superior oil to all of them and borrows some of Kewpie’s features including the addition of vinegar (which gives it that “twang”) and a higher proportion of egg yolks. They don’t specifically add MSG but they do add paprika. All three are available in a plastic squeeze bottle which I find to be the most practical form factor for typical use. Cheers and thanks for the great videos.
The kewpie i buy where I live in South Dakota has mustard in the ingredients label🤷♂️
Best foods has vinegar in it too.
Damn you really broke it down. Gotta be a chef(?
I’m a Hellmans Mayo user, and I’ve tried Dukes and some off brands. Always come back to Hellman’s. Thanks for that fun comparison, it’s always good to keep an open mind 😊. Have a great week, Kevin🧡

@@rommelthedesertfox3089it’s the same
Dumb
@@rommelthedesertfox3089 it's literally exactly the same product.
if you listen to him at the beginning of the video, it's just sold under a different name in different parts of the country kind of like Checker's and Rally's, Hardee's and Carl's jr., or Kroger and Ralph's.
Literally exactly the same.

Words can't express the comforting feelings that youe videos give me ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love all 3! I grew up eating Hellman’s, but once I tried Duke’s I never when back. Of course if I’m in a pinch and cannot find Duke’s I’ll buy Hellman’s. Kewpie is a great 3rd. I agree 100% with your rating!
I just wanted to tell you that you are a WONDERFUL LIGHT in this world. I cook also, it’s what brought me to your channel, but your demeanor and energy is so comforting. This world is becoming so chaotic and it really is a blessing to have people like you taking the time to cook, film, edit, clean and everything, and bring positive energy into this online space. Bless you, man, I really appreciate you 🫂💙
Duke's is my favorite, but everyone has their preference. Thank you for the most awesome mayo video I've ever seen ❤❤❤❤❤
Really loving this format, KevMo! We use Duke’s at work and Hellmans at home. Have to try the Kewpie now. Hope you’re all having a great weekend! ✌🏼
Very good. Instead of being made with the whole egg, which a lot of mayos do, it only uses the yolk and I think it tastes almost like a Hollandaise.
That squeezy bottle of Kewpie will set you back about $7.99, if you can even find it. The only place I see it is at the local Korean supermarket.
@@moishglukovsky it’s 5 dollars at Walmart
Gotta get my butt to Walmart! @@ridingyourdad
@@moishglukovskyI'm almost positive I saw it at Costco not too long ago.
Definitely team Best Foods. But i like Kewpie in egg salad, deviled eggs and tuna salad. I cant wait to try Dukes and Blue Plate. I love mayo, a mayo sandwich is heaven ❤
Mayo is the best.
I like to use Duke's for lighter salads like egg or tuna and Hellman's for things like potato salad. I primarily use Kewpie for sandwiches. It goes really well with beef or ham sandwiches.
Swapped to Duke's from Hellman's and haven't looked back. Absolutely love the flavor and creaminess of it.
I'm a sucker for Hellman's, but Kewpie hits my taste buds diff now. Especially that it has more wide variety on what I use it for compared to Hellman's. With Hellman's, it overpowers certain foods. Kewpie is that blend where it really meshes with whatever you're putting it on to compliment it for a different flavor
Best foods is better than both
@@rommelthedesertfox3089Best Foods is the same as Hellmann's. Blue Plate is my favorite normal mayo but I do love Kewpie
@@scholasticbookfair. well Whatever all I know is best foods still reigns supreme
Dumb.
Kewpie uses exclusively egg yolks as far as I know, that sets it apart from the other two whole-egg mayos, probably why it tastes ‘eggier’ and almost fermented. The yolk of the egg contains natural MSG, making it more savory. Personally it’s my favorite, i always put it on my burgers
Kewpie for the win. I used kewpie mayo for a greaser on a baking sheet to make biscuits and I will never use anything else again to grease the bottoms , the biscuits came out so bomb.
I make homemade biscuits ALL THE TIME. I am so going to try the Kewpie as a greaser. Thank you!
Kewpie is good and has it's place for certain things, but for most mayo mixing needs you have to go with a more American style mayo. I prefer Duke's. Or on sandwichs of course.
Actually best foods for the win
Do you have an online reference on making good biscuits? I don't have a recipe I like and they don't come out like real soul food can be
Kewpie, baby!
Amen. ❤❤❤
All day sugar_house_wye
critical element that wasn't addressed: that Kewpie is definitely the most expensive of the three. i love the stuff for it's umami flavor (what i think Kev was identifying as an "almost mustard" taste) but in terms of value i think it falls a little short of my beloved Hellmanns.
if money was no object I'd be stackin that Kewp doe
@@Red_Belly I would gladly shell out a few more dollars for Mayo. Some things in life are just worth it.
A mi, tambien.
Nailed it. Since finding Dukes, I can't look back.
This was interesting. I grew up in a Miracle Whip family and I honestly don't think I had ever tried mayo until I was an adult! Since then I usually stick with Hellmann's.
Oh dang Miracle Whip! Kevin should’ve thrown that in the line up. Miracle Whip is good on sandwiches.
@@ScripnerMiracle Whip belongs in Hell

I just tried Kewpie mayo for the first time today and it's hands down the best imo. Kewpie is now a staple in my home.
Love me some Kewpie. I prefer real mayo for my ham sandwich tho. I mainly use it on my poke bowls, sushi rolls, onigiri, tuna salad. Add some Sriracha and it's a yummy spicy mayo, that you can drizzle over some lightly seared ahi tuna. Serve on greens or a bed of rice with furikake sprinkled on top. Looks like you got the Japanese version too! The only difference between that version and the US version is, the US swapping out the msg for yeast extract. I recommend the Japanese version, it's just umami. It's made with only egg yolks. Which is why it's so rich and egg forward. It's made with a blend of vinegars. Which is probably why your pallet was confused. US versions only usually use white distilled vinegar and sugar. Kewpie doesn't add sugar because the vinegars bring the hint of sweetness. Maybe they add mustard seeds? Because they're pretty tighted lipped about the,"seasonings" that go into it. Everywhere I look the ingredients list is always the same. Even on the website. Soybean oil, egg yolk, vinegar and seasonings. Anywho, sorry for the thesis. Btw, Kewpie has a variety of mayo flavors! They even have a mild mayo, made from whole eggs instead of just yolks. The flavor is still there. All the seasonings are the same, it's just not as eggy. You might enjoy that one a little better.
I can hear the all of the south exhale and rejoice seeing Duke’s win 😂 I think Kewpie is good but situational. I wouldn’t put it in a tuna salad or anything but awesome on a regular sandwich Hellman’s is last for me because the texture and weird aftertaste
I'm from south and hate Dukes
What about Blue Plate tho
I've only recently seen Dukes in my local grocery, I had just switched over to Hellman's after many years of just buying generic mayonnaise and didn't realize what I was missing, now it seems once again I need to try another brand and discover something else I've been missing!
In the past Hellmann's had contained kind of a stigma for being only for ethnic food, and being from a Wonder Bread Midwestern family we were just fine with Kraft miracle whip.
So making the step to even it generic mayonnaise was a huge leap for my taste buds.
I’m 100% with you @brid9465
I love that you salt your tomatoes, i do the same in nearly all situations.
I grew up with Miracle Whip, my sister had me try Hellmann's. I have both now depending what mood I'm in
😊❤
I really like how you had the 3 different tests. Thanks for sharing with us!
Honestly I used to use the classic hellmans Mayo growing up but someone I used to know told me about Dukes Mayo and I’ve been a fan of it ever since. I find it to be smoother and less artificial tasting
I'm a Duke's man of the three like a good South Carolina native, but Kewpie is also incredible as it's own beast. Another great brand I recommend, Blue Plate.
Blue Plate Mayonnaise is the best mayo on the planet! It’s from the south. Made in Louisiana. Thank you for the great content! Always waiting for the “what a treat “ comment on every video
I lived in PA most of my life but would fly to ATL for DragonCon. In 2009, I had Duke's mayo for the first time and I have never looked back. Delish!
I grew up on Miracle Whip (mom didn't like mayo, still my go to) my Mayo of choice however is Dukes. I really need to try Kewpie
You make food reviews into art love the details my man.
I love all mayonnaise and have tried all 3 in your line up, but in my opinion McCormick lime mayonesa beats all 3 you have here. Perfect for BLTs. I’ve recently seen dukes makes a lime mayo as well. That’s next on my list. If you can please try one of the lime mayos and let us know what ya think!
Best Foods also came out with a lime mayo that was sooo good! But they must have discontinued it..
I'll look for it. I heard the regular Best Foods has more lemon in it than most other mayos, though I can't remember where I heard or read that so I can't confirm it. I do think it tastes tangier overall than regular Dukes.
They’re like hot sauces, each kinda serves its own purpose. Kewpie is my favorite, especially on Hawaiian rolls with leftover baked ham. What a treat.
I love you. Your such a wholesome dude!! I love watching your videos they make my day, or should I say night in my case. LOL.
4th: homemade?
Love the format. Nice and non-biased.
👍🏼
I’m in NC and nothing but Duke’s Mayo in our house! Love your videos!
Mayonnaise off a spoon makes me want to jump out a 40 story window. So hard for my weird ass to watch.
Yeah, we gonna need more of these long form videos
Thanks for posting this. Some people are missing out on Dukes.
I grew up on Miracle Whip..lol.
I still like it, and i never cared for Hellman's, but i tried Dukes a few years ago and never went back.
I've tried Kraft and a few cheap brands but I've become picky. I need my Dukes now! It is the best.
I grew up with the hispanic McCormick Mayonesa with lime so that’s my go to, but I like them all!
People may not realize Blue Plate and Kewpie use egg yolks, while the others use whole eggs. Thus the extra richness and egginess.
McCormick's mayonesa with lime is really good too. Nice twang to it.
I grew up eating Dukes here on the East Coast. Always loved it. And I have been known to buy Walmart brand mayo to save money. And never got into hellmans. We just never bought it in our house and I never bought it when I grew up. But after seeing the Kewpie Mayo in so many UA-cam vids I had to get it when I found it at Walmart and I like it!
If there were an Internet personality to use the “protect this man at all costs” meme on, Kev is the guy lol
This was nice.😊
I've tried the Blue Plate from LA, and I've got the kewpie in my fridge. My favorite and forever will continue to be the Best Foods/Hellmans... It's the greatest basic mayo, imo.. Homemade? That may be another video. 😊
✌️❤️
Grew up on Hellmann's/Best and Kraft. Still like Hellmann's a lot, but Kewpie is my #1, now, with Duke's a VERY close second.
Love the T-shirt!!
DUKES FOR THE WIN!!!! 👏👏👏👏 My husband grew up on the West Coast and didn't know this brand. Now it's the only one he wants!
The Incredible Weir...hilarious! He is a hero of mine in real life.
I'm a Duke's girl at heart, I use Duke's in most of my recipes. On the other hand, my daughter's dad was Hispanic. There are some recipes that Hellmann's (miracle whip) was actually better for some dishes. There is this one thing (I call it macaroni salad) that they would fix. It is elbow macaroni, some yellow corn, thin sliced deli ham, some pickeld jalapenos, some crema and miracle whip. It is one of my favorite things. If it was made with "Duke's" , it wouldn't taste the same.
Hellmann's is NOT Miracle Whip. Miracle Whip is a Kraft Foods product. Hellmann's is Unilever. Miles apart in taste and corporate origin.
I don't think you know what the heck you are blabbering about
Hellmans miracle whip!?!
Sounds like a tasty version of macaroni salad. Thanks for sharing.
@@J_D_B4379close enough. I'll stick with Duke's. Tried and true.
I'm a Dukes boy all the way. When I was growing up all mom bought was Miracle Whip. That was the reason I left home. ( not really, I enlisted in the Navy at 17)
Yessss!!!! Kev you’re on the money on this one! I Soo enjoy your videos!! Thank you for lighting my day with the Mayo Olympics🤗It’s been a treat ❤
I love this!! I am not a big mayonnaise user, But I grew up eating Hellmann's(BF) as I'm from SW PA. I am definitely going to try Duke's and Kewpie soon!! 😊
Same! During his taste test I got on my grocery app and was shocked to see Dukes and Kewpie as options. I guess I only ever noticed Hellman's and Kraft.
That was awesome! I trust your judgment especially since Im a big best foods fan, in fact I wouldnt ever use anything else. That was prior to this taste test. Ive always heard of others being as sold on dukes as I on best foods but now I want to sample dukes, that is if I can get it in Ore. You are in my daily prayers Kev!❤😊❤
You forgot the Blue Plate mayo! You gota try it! Great video! Keep up the great work!
Blue Plate all day! I’m from Maryland but love some southern Mayo.
Hey, just gotta say. Both myself and my beautiful wife look forward to your vids everydays. She will wake up and ask me , " Whats the cool deadheadchef cooking today?" We love you man. Wish you health and peace.
I grew up eating Kewpie mayo so I can't agree with your ranking hahaha! I guess nostalgia is that special ingredient for me.
This video was awesome. Love your channel, it's got a great vibe
For those of you whom don't know, Best Foods May is also Helmans Mayo. same company and product, on Best Foods on the left side of the country and Helmans on the right side of the country.
Loves me some Kewpie mayo. Every time you bit into one of the tomato sandwiches my mouth watered…
Kewpie and dukes are pure hype .... Hellmans all the way
The texture of Hellman's is gross to me, and I grew up with it. Kewpie wins on flavor by a mile, no contest.
Hellman's has lime juice in it.... And I like the twang that Duke's doesn't have. Never tried Kewpie...😮
It definitely depends on the application for me. If I'm making ranch dip, it's Kraft. Super neutral, I don't really use it for anything but dips. For sandwiches, Duke's or occasionally Kewpie. Kewpie is perfect for spicy mayo for sushi and stuff, really assertive deviled-egg character. Kewpie is the only one I would enjoy straight up on a saltine. Great comparison video!
I hate mayo with a passion but I love watching you review these.
Thank you for all the videos!
Thank you for this review and your opinion...i love to compare. Can't find Kewpie mayo anywhere.
Great long vid format. Love the shorts too, but adding a couple of these long format here and there makes the channel feel a lot more complete.
I have all three in my fridge. I use each of them for different recipes. Hellmans rules supreme at my house. In my opinion, you can’t make a good sandwich without it. I use Kewpie for things like Homemade tarter sauce. Dukes I use in salads. It works for me.
Kewpie is by far my favorite after i got used to it. But since my grocery store doesnt have it; i usually go with Dukes.
Walmart should have it if you have one in your area, i can find it at most Walmarts i’ve been to
Lol took me 4 full minutes to notice the shirt. Love it!
Hello from Cali. I grew up with BF but have eaten alot of Cupie. Never tried Dukes. I love mayonnaise. I would agree with you most likely if I tried Dukes. Tks. Karla in California.
I'm a Miracle whip girl...I like the sweetness. I will eat Dukes or Hellmans if I have to. 👍I'm heading to the kitchen to make a sandwich 😋
I use Dukes at work and at home. Love the stuff.
The Hellmann's mayo jingle ("Bring out the Hellmann's and bring out the best") never made much sense, until you found out that it was called "Best Foods" on the west coast. "Bring out the Best Foods, and bring out the best." Ah ha!
Chicken salad on an tortilla chips?? My mind is blown… I want some.
Interesting! The first time I had Dukes it brought back summer visits to my grandmothers In Tennessee. I hadn’t realized it up until that point that I ever had it before. Really brought back memories. And nice to hear your analogy do the Kewpie mayo. I wanted to try it but now that you said it tastes very eggy, I will pass. I don’t like eggs. Thank you!
Switched over to dukes a month ago and I'll never go back to Hellman's
I'm a Southern girl and I love Dukes but to tell you the truth I love any kind of mayonnaise
I cannot lie. Mayo is ok, but I will forever be a Miracle Whip fan. Yes, I know it's supposed to be sweeter than mayo, but it doesn't taste sweet to me. It's what I grew up with and I love it.
Miracle Whip gets too much hate. I grew up on it too. I do prefer real mayo but Miracle Whip tastes good.
That's like growing up drinking sweetened fruit juice and thinking that's normal for a fruit juice
I grew on Hellmann's but Dukes has been my go-to now for about the last 15 years
I just watched a full review on Mayo and it was actually informative 👌🏾 👍🏾
Grilled Broccoli dipped in Best Foods!!!! Chefs kiss
The only Olympics I’ve watched!
Kevmo's always asking the hard and important questions
Hey kev thank you for the taste test 👍 as a kid I only would eat miracle whip but now I enjoy hellmans and my boy only eats miracle whip lol never herd of dukes and been wanting to try kewpie good job kev keep up the good work man 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Yup, I'm a Helman's guy. I grew up eating it, so I know what to expect. It would be really hard to change.
This was very interesting. I’m glad you did this because I was actually thinking about buying kewpie
Undercover Brotha gonna need that hot sauce watch for this one lol! Good stuff!
Duke's is my favorite it's got a lemon tangy notes that I love
Grew up on Best Foods but after moving to NM from CA I prefer Dukes. Kewpie is good but more expensive. Good Stuff🙏
The best mayo I’ve tried is Spectrum Organic Mayonnaise, super dense, creamy, and flavorful. I’ll have to try the Kewpie!
I love Best Foods!! Growing up, however, we ate Miracle Whip, for everything which is not a sandwich spread.
Make your own mayo for the win. Super simple, quick and delicious.
Grew up eating Hellmann’s and Mr Hellmann is interred in the cemetery I work for
My favourite mayonnaise is
100g milk
200g oil
0.5 tsp salt
0.5 tsp sugar
0.5 tsp mustard
tbsp vinegar
and blend for one minute
The best part is you can add and remove spices. You can also of course make it with eggs, just want to point out you absolutely don't need to use raw eggs for homemade mayo. It doesn't affect the thickness and imo it doesn't affect the taste much.
My favourite will always be Kewpie Mayonnaise as it's sooo gd on everything, also because best foods has so much salt in it you probably didn't need to salt the tomato on that sandwich
P.s luv ur Vlogs Oldscoolkevmo
Ive been entertained by your vids in the past but this one got me to sub. And Im a Hellmans guy! Cheers!
i love kewpie but i consider it a different condiment than a dukes/best /hellmans mayo.
i still use hellmans for the exact things you tested with (cold sandwiches / salads) but you can put kewpie on asian stir fry’s and soy sauce based dishes (paired w sriracha!) in a way that the others would not agree with
Nothing will ever beat blue plate mayonnaise
I grew up with Best Foods/Hellman’s (from the West Coast) I’m super partial to this Mayo, I’ve tried many. But this is my tried and true, I use it for everything.
