- Here's me blabbering about the 2023 CIM weekend and recapping the race!
TLDR: I fell below expectations due to my fixation to exceed expectations. Got greedy and got wrecked in the first half, which caused me to bonk later in the race. Had to make an unwelcomed pit stop during the race. But overall, didn't stop and pushed through, and still achieved a PR. And most importantly, I had a lot of fun this entire weekend.
Look forward to what's in store for 2024! Boston, I'm coming for you.

Great job making the best of a not so great situation, Alvin. I had to stop and pee during a marathon last Fall. Felt so defeated! I’ll be running CIM in ‘25, appreciate the recap as it helps with my planning. I’ve heard from many that the rollers in the first half can be brutal!

thank you for that excellent race recap. I hope as time goes by and your immediate emotions from the race subside that you can appreciate that no PR should ever be disappointing!
By the way when the idea of qualifying for boston first came into my radar, I didn't actually qualify until about 11 years later. And that was before the BQ time for your age group is at a 3:00 flat, which I think is a super high bar. But that high bar just makes the BQ feel all that more satisfying. I am confident you will get it!
