- Just a quick vid of our annual trip to Canada. Fishing was a bit slower this year, but still a lot of nice fish. Biggest fish measured 37 x 23 and 26lbs. We used Frogs for bait and 7-8/0 circle hooks.

Cats masters love it.
Damn that's a LOOOOOONG drive for catfish.
Great idea with the tub!
Yeah the one year we caught over 300 fish, the boat carpet had inches of slime on it. :(
awesome fish guys, you rock!
Looks like a great trip!
The bite was much slower than normal, but even when its slow up there its still awesome.
Great action, beast channel cats!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching.
Awesome fishery and great video. May i ask where you source your bait from up there?
Great job guys!
Thanks!
Holy Shit! I lived downstream from Lockport, in Selkirk back in the 1970s. Looks like you were there in late summer. At that time of year, the Red River gets dirty, stagnant with no current. The water stinks! Wouldn't be better to catch the catfish in early spring, when they're fresh?
Those are some giant channel cats! Also just watched your sturgeon videos on the Rainy River. What's your favorite time to make the trip to the Rainy River to catch those sturgeon? I really want to plan a trip there to try my hand at them!
Hi Steve, thanks for watching. In my opinion the best time to go and hit those sturgeon is Late April to Early May. The bite window correspondes to the ice out and will vary each year. Last week of April is a pretty good reference though. I like to wait until the walleye season has eneded because the river can be very very busy with the walleye fisherman in early April.
Thank you so much, Darren! This is one reason I love watching your videos, you're full of knowledge!
wow.. Awesome video.. I been posting channel cat videos and they don't grow them like that here.. lol...I look forward to watching all your videos and thanks for sharing
Thanks Ralph, yes that stretch of river between Lockport and Lake Winnipeg is a rare treasure and a world class fishery.
DTroFishOn I heard it's because they have special regulations for them big boys.
Fisherdanpro23 yes, can't keep anything bigger than 24"
