Aww I love how great the comments are on my family lodge! My brother was so small in that video! Thank you for coming out to Northway and checking out Sas!
Big thumbs up, Jay!!! I lived in Wawanesa for a few years, fished the Souris River for Catfish and Pelican Lake in Ninette for Walleye and Pike but never got a chance to fish any of the northern lakes. Once again your shots of the scenery are perfect to go along with the story you're telling. I wish I was a decade or two younger and had both my legs cause I'd be out there in a heartbeat fishing, hunting and showing off how fantastic our country is for outdoor activities! Thanks again for a killer video and PLEASE, keep them coming!!! - Dave
My dad and I have been making an annual trip to Dogskin Lake, which is also in the Atikaki and basically right next door to this lake. It's a bit more expensive but a fantastic option if you don't want to worry about bringing food and cooking your own meals. Fishing there is similar, you catch walleye basically everywhere you find interesting bottom structure. Like Jay mentioned, by July the pike in this area seem to go deeper than you'd expect, and it can be tough to find them on weeds. We've actually had the most success trolling deep diving walleye cranks like reef runners to catch big pike there mid-summer or later. We're from the US, so sadly no trip for us this year, but I can't wait to get back up to the Atikaki next summer. Great video as usual Jay and thanks for reminding me why I so look forward to visiting this area!
That was a BIG walleye. Ma I look forward to your B roll footage every time. You have given me so many ideas. I was actually thinking today how I can't wait for your next video and then boom it pops up on my feed! Made my day!
Hurts so bad to watch this great video - A minnesotan missing the incredible 20+ days in Canada each summer - Please invite us back into your country next summer
Dude you are great I love your videos. Thank you you Jay. Way better than uncut. Used to be me favorite channel no more than yours tho. Thank you Jay, you kick butt buddy. My girlfriend even thinks you kick ass! Thank you for putting good videos love your Content
Man, that looks amazing. I’m heading up to Viking lodge for my very first lake trout trip I am so excited. And yes, I have the whole catch and cook line up all packed up and ready to go.
I get to go to SAS annually (except this year of course) and it is even better than this video shows. How pumped was I that Jay get to go and fish a lake and lodge that I love. I would have shared some the of honey holes had I known you were gonna go there. I have 10 master angler walleyes from those waters.
My uncle used to fish there yearly and he had nothing but good things to say about the walleye fishing there. Great video man! The cinematic b-roll is astonishing, love your style. Keep it up.
jay great vid that many walleyes is just crazy! ive only ever been fly in fishing a few times but just for day trips and it was insane how many walleye and trout we caught def would recommend to anyone. also pretty sure "wear your life jackets" was not said so ill say that now WEAR YOUR LIFE JACKETS!
Everything about Sas is first class. The aircraft, docks, cottages, boats with swivel seats are above and beyond what I’ve been to at other fly in camps. It’s on my short list.
I picked up a helix 5 this summer and I'm still getting the hang of it. Showing how you use it was very helpful. I always learn somethin from your videos 🎣
I canoed and portaged from lake lake mccusker Ontario to the Berens River Village on lake Winnipeg and went through sass. It’s a beautiful lake. The caribou we’re calving on the islands.
Guys , lets face it . You could use a Zebco 33 rod and reel and catch walleye on that lake. hehehe. It is filthy with them walleye on that lake. Great video. Love the old tower footage . Cheers.
Hey Jay, I have been watching your videos for a while now and love the content. I just had to comment on this one as "The Spoon" is my favourate pike lure. It just works.
Both you and Clayton dropped videos this evening but after your video Clayton will be dropping his jaw lol. Damn those were some explosive bite attacks
Great video Jay!! What did you think of the Alumacraft Yukon 165? I got the Alumacraft Summit 165 (same boat) this summer and it’s been a great boat. Lots of room for fishing and very stable when standing up on the sides.
Hi, my husband watches your videos A LOT! We watched one where you were fishing with Josh. You were making fish tacos with fish salsa, on the boat. Can you give us the recipe for the fish salsa, please?
I’ve been on lake Sas before. I did a thing called Voyageurs and that’s where you voyage in the Canadian wilderness for a month with canoes. We canoed all the waters around there. I caught my biggest northern on lake sas and it’s actually my profile pic.
Say, uh, Jay. You didn't happen to see Ranger Gord hanging around that watchtower did you? He might have appreciated some company with Red Green retiring and all.
I almost always line all of the cameras up and cut in between them at the same time. That way I'm not going over footage I've already seen by editing each camera one by one.
I’ve been to sasa gini gak the fishing was awesome we hammered pike we went for a week and we caught a pike the size of a broom stick it was hudge Edit: we staid in the master angler cabin it was my first time to Canada I was 10 I’m 12 Edit2:why didn’t you bring Sam
Oh Come on Jay!! I should be editing and now I am watching this video!!
He was using a jig and a minnow
You think it was active or deadstick.
Jay should pay you for your tactics
Now to click on your new video and watch it. See you over there.
yessir clayton
You and Jay should come to North Dakota there are some awesome Walleye and Pike fishing spots here!!
Wow so fancy! Mint as always Jimmy!
Minty fre$h
Thumbs up before I even watch it, because I know it’s gonna be legit and I’ll love it!
I was there in 97 and our guide was a old fella who showed us a Hudson’s bay out post and petroglyphs. Great fishing and good memories.
Hey jay!! It’s me Braxton from the vid remember!!

Hey Jay love the table spoons you were using, my brother left them there when we were up there
I picked up a helix 5 this summer and I'm still getting the hang of it. Showing how you use it was very helpful.

Really enjoyed the video, as always the best in video production. Mad skills Jay, thanks for sharing!

Hey Jay, I have been watching your videos for a while now and love the content.
I just had to comment on this one as "The Spoon" is my favourate pike lure. It just works.
Yep have to go there sometime. Insane
Great fish handling in this video. It's great that you don't keep them out of the water for dozens of photo angles like I see others do on UA-cam.
Both you and Clayton dropped videos this evening but after your video Clayton will be dropping his jaw lol. Damn those were some explosive bite attacks
Jay u make some sick videos bro keep em coming please!
Wicked video jay looks like an awesome place to fish lol and lots of them
Always great content! I can't go to Canada to fish but at least Jay eases the pain with his vids.
I’ve been making my own spoons for years. Nail polish for colours. Work great on bass and pike especially.
Yessssss. Great video again.
You're fun to watch simply. Love yuh bud
Great video Jay!! What did you think of the Alumacraft Yukon 165? I got the Alumacraft Summit 165 (same boat) this summer and it’s been a great boat. Lots of room for fishing and very stable when standing up on the sides.

My boy Oddgy built those docks 🍻💪🏻
Awesomeness !!
I haven't even watched it yet... But I KNOW it's GREAT!!! (gonna watch it now)... I was right. GREAT! :)
"Under him TROY!"
Troy: "I, I'm hooked.."
That looks great
I haven’t been there in like 12 years. Caught my biggest pike at those water falls.
NZ crew checking in
Banger.
Hi Jay where can you buy a measuring board like that ?
Alluring
Just cooked up my nice pickrel from last night!
Hi, my husband watches your videos A LOT! We watched one where you were fishing with Josh. You were making fish tacos with fish salsa, on the boat.
Can you give us the recipe for the fish salsa, please?
I’d shoot josh McFads a message on insta. He’ll hook you up with a recipe.
Sweet net
Are you guys using barbless hooks?
If I was in them that thick I think I'd be tempted to drop down whatever the largest bait I had was to target the biggest baddest fish down there
I’ve been on lake Sas before. I did a thing called Voyageurs and that’s where you voyage in the Canadian wilderness for a month with canoes. We canoed all the waters around there. I caught my biggest northern on lake sas and it’s actually my profile pic.
There’s a fire watch tower that you’re not supposed to go up on. But if you do there’s an amazing view from the base of the tower
Love watching these videos knowing these places! Tight lines!
🔥
What are the rods? OG red shimano rod and nrx, what are the models?
I just keep watching this video 😂
Say, uh, Jay. You didn't happen to see Ranger Gord hanging around that watchtower did you? He might have appreciated some company with Red Green retiring and all.
Took a week with a bunch of Guys building those good looking docks
I can't help but notice that the seat of your shorts were wet. Sometimes I get excited, too. It's understandable.
What kind of float plane is that?
How do you edit your videos with multiple cameras do you do one camera at a time and edit it and than do the next camera?
I almost always line all of the cameras up and cut in between them at the same time. That way I'm not going over footage I've already seen by editing each camera one by one.
I caught a 1ft rock bass this summer
What net were you using
That lake is ridiculous. But not as ridiculous as that net.
Hi jay!
I’ve been to sasa gini gak the fishing was awesome we hammered pike we went for a week and we caught a pike the size of a broom stick it was hudge
Edit: we staid in the master angler cabin it was my first time to Canada I was 10 I’m 12
Edit2:why didn’t you bring Sam
The super 6 eh
Damn I was hoping Aaron Weib would be joining you :( and yes I know I probably spelled his name wrong.
Is the word pike both singular and plural? Pikes sounds terrible.
When he takes the sound from Danny Duncan
I wish i was u
