    Awesome idea of dropping rpm in danger settings. I always wanted some kind of buzzer if temps were to high or pressure to low, but hitting the rev limiter would be a better option because you are always listening and feeling the engine when you are looking through the turn and not at the gauges. Thanks for a great intro

    Thank you very much for the video, this made my decision easier to go with this ecu for my S2000.. I was between this and haltech, but haltech requires a harness cost more, Links seems to be able to do everything and friendly software..

    • @CanyonTuned
      @CanyonTuned  8 місяців тому

      Yeah haltech is cool and all, but for the s2k link is a no brainer. It's the only true plug and play out there. No jumper harness bs that doesn't fit in the small side panel area

      @@CanyonTuned i just downloaded the software today to see how it is.. i am use to hondata so this is very different, but i feel once i learn the program i should be fine to be able to tune my s2k.. eventually i am going to turbo or supercharge, i want to get the ecu first and learn the program before i do FI.. So far i think is the best option for 2005 and under S2000s.

    I used the base file for a 3SGE Beams engine and I think leaving it as modelled with new fuel pressure sensor or temp sensor has given me some problems. Thanks for the tip!

    • @CanyonTuned
      @CanyonTuned  8 днів тому

      Even then you should be able to used the modeled fueling mode, if your fuel table seems way off you probably don't have your injector settings correct

    What is your method for running this on the Mac?

    • @CanyonTuned
      @CanyonTuned  10 місяців тому +4

      Honestly I would ignore the Mac setup, it's strictly for the training videos. But I'm running a UTM Windows 7 VM. It's extremely slow on Apple Silicon, wouldn't recommend it for actual tuning. I have a second windows laptop I actually tune on

    Im nore convinced now to go down this route, but can It use can bus signal to run rev counter and other dash instruments that need a can bus signal to functuon correctly ?

    • @CanyonTuned
      @CanyonTuned  6 місяців тому

      You can configure analog and digital outputs for all kinds of external devices. It doesn't necessarily need to be can bus although that's the ideal communication method

    Hi, i am playing with the basemap that comes loaded for the s2000 on links g4x and have a question.. Is there any way on the Ignition table map to show the vacuum ignition numbers? When i try to change the settings it won't allow me to input a - value on the map psi side of the table..
    Another thing i notice is their basemap shows way to high of ignition timing on the basemap, for example at 11.6psi at 9000rpms they have 33.8 timing to me that is bad enough to blow an engine if people don't know what they are doing and just leave ignition alone and tune fuel only.. or i am reading this wrong?

    • @CanyonTuned
      @CanyonTuned  6 місяців тому +1

      Your ignition table y axis is map not manifold gauge pressure. You'd never have a negative value. Usually in full vacuum you'll be in the 20s. Which is why you can't enter a -. Also I agree the base map is probably too aggressive for timing. I usually pull 2 degrees per psi of boost is a safe starting point. My 3rd planned video for this series should cover ignition timing soon

    • @civicpride1986
      @civicpride1986 6 місяців тому

      @@CanyonTuned Yes that will help if you cover timing in a video.. i was going of hondata s300 what i am use to on their timing table they do have vacuum timing tables before positive map boost pressure, that is the reason i was asking, but makes sense what you wrote.

    • @CanyonTuned
      @CanyonTuned  6 місяців тому

      Yeah the link ecu has a barometer on board so it accounts for atmospheric pressure, so the stock ecu pressure scale and link will be calculated different

  • @DailyisRaceCar
    @DailyisRaceCar 27 днів тому

    Question for you - I have purchased the plug and play ECU for an s2000. I also have a charger kit to go on but I want to order/collect sensors etc. can I install the ECU and run link’s base map safely and drive the car whilst NA?

    • @CanyonTuned
      @CanyonTuned  26 днів тому +1

      Most of the link base maps I've seen compared to stock will be mostly identical to OEM however your ignition table is greatly reduced, and target AFRs are way too rich. If you tune those tables to closely match the OEM values you'll be in good shape. Also please look at my other videos and use mixture map to dial in your fuel table at minimum
