That's simply amazing. Do you have some adapters to recommend (wireless and/or USB) for a more standard setup with an ATOTO S8 unit + a ECU using the CAN protocol?
I'm swapping a older 1995 Goldwing body onto a 2004 Goldwing frame very interested in this being the instrument cluster on the 04 is larger than the 95-instrument cluster. Now a question. Is there a cruise set and a cruise om display when the cruse is on the light is indicated on the dash when you hit the set then the cruse light comes on along with the cruise light still remaining lit. Also is there a FI light and a engine light. Also how would the radio function be figured out being the dash has a Radio separate screen that is wired into the unit.

I’ve always wanted to put a tablet in my SC to control ac and radio as well as one for digital dash.
in my old SC that actually had an interior i installed a tablet in the center console that was basically my headunit. go on my second channel and scroll waaaaay down you'll see it.
Can it display things like coolant temps, afr, boost etc?
please can you share what OTG plug you have that charges and transfers data and the back battery setup I am trying to do this myself currently

we found the cheap way to get around the otg not charging at the same time ,is to get a 1s lithium charge module and wire it in directly to the battery,thats what had to do for custom ebike dash using torque pro, were going to Can option to ,just makes more sense otherwise the amount of wiring is insane

I can’t get any readings from the usb to CAN. Just says connecting then no connection when I go into real dash CAN monitor. Do I have to send a configuration file or something to the can usb on the computer?
Because that's not how you're supposed to use it. You're supposed to use the CAN wires from the ECU plug
@DingDongDrift I am using the can wires, and my tablet will not connect to the USB. Would love to see a more detailed video on how to set this up or maybe get in contact to get some help

Nevermind. Got too excited and skipped some parts. What I understood on the video was ECU CAN -> CAN/USB dongle -> USB hub -> tablet. Hope this works for me.
@@DingDongDrift where are you getting your speed signal from? I have my realdash set up but I can't get the speedometer to go. The rest of the gauges work even a dual wideband.

Can this set up read all data what we get on our regular instrument cluster? Like indicators, fuel level, seat belt warning, door open, hazard light etc....

Yep. I got my turn signals, headlights, DRLs, and a bunch of other stuff working on the dash in a more recent video

@@DingDongDrift yeah I've watched it all just need some clarity on where you've connected the canbus cable onto the ECU and how you've ran it to the can to USB adapter if possible. Would the link can pcb cable do the trick into a link canF plug then ran in 1 pair screened cable to the adapter?
@@Big_Gubbins you just connect 2 wires to CAN H and CAN L on the ECU Plug. there's no special wire or anything.

You need to program the transmission gear ratios in the garage. Then choose calculated or math (forget the name) as the input for the gear number.
So why did you not just connect LINK ecu USB to usbc direct to tablet?? Thought it was charging also? I am setting mine up soon
G4X doesn't have serial USB only G4+ does
@@DingDongDrift Thank you my worry is that even though I HAVE G4+ and old one that talent will die on me when parked up for too long not started so it charges. I am new to all this so trying to get my dyslexic head around everything
That's why i designed a hole in the tablet surround to be able to turn it off.

@@DingDongDrift well because it has a lithium battery and there is lots of stories about them causing fires in cars. Automotive tech goes through tough testing to withstand the heat. If I was to do that, I'd actually get a portable HDMI display called "bar display screen" and its super wide. (Imo better looking than a square tablet) And have just an Android box that runs via wired power (planty of those and they're pretty cheap) then u can build a bezel around it and make it look seamless like an OEM. I think u should really look into that. If u wouldn't leave ur phone inside ur car during the summer, u shouldn't do that with a batteried tablet. I'd gladly help guide u through the process. Would be a shame if something happens to that sweet car 👌👍
@@jackaboodf16 i've had a tablet in my car for 3 years almost. i've been flying race drones for 9 years now and push those batteries to the point that they'll boil water. Lithium batteries are completely misunderstood.
@@DingDongDrift lithium ion is very unpredictable. Sure u had ur tablet in ur car for years but that's an unwise decision with all due respect. Ur rolling the dice here. Lithium for how old it is, it has never been used in the automotive industry for a reason. (Tesla uses lithium ion currently but they have insane cooling tech behind it). U should rethink this out imo. Also, the race drone batteries are actually Lithium Polymer. Which is a bit different than Lithium Ion safety wise 😅

Do you have to power the usbc hub ? Or is it just connected to the tablet from the can analyzer ?
The hub is powered through a USB input. I'm working on a video of a new version of this with a better hub so just ignore this video
@DingDongDrift I ordered that other hub from that lava company. Is that the one that you are talking about ? I'm hoping to see that video soon. I'll be starting on my dash in about a week once the rest of the parts come in. Would love to see a detailed video of how everything is wired for the hub, usb can analyzer, and tablet. I get the gist of it but unsure of how to give the hub power. Thanks for your expertise.

Through CAN you can use almost any ecu
