Really great GoPro tutorials. This guy speaks better English than 99% of native speakers. Very informative, clear and concise
Thank you Timothy!
Just purchased a Hero 10 and entering the world of GoPro for the first time. Looking to trying out these settings. Very, very clearly explained with great visuals. Many thanks from the UK. 👍🇬🇧
Glad I could help brother 💪
Welcome down the rabbit hole. The camera is so versatile that at times it can be overwhelming trying to learn about all its capabilities.
Wow dude, this is hands down the most useful GoPro / manual camera operation video I've ever seen. It's like a college video coarse experience in minutes!
This was a game-changer for us! We changed a few things after your video and it helped us fix what was the most problematic for us AND we are getting some amazing night lapse videos! Thank you so much!
Best settings video i watched and i watched quite a few!! Btw, i really like 100 min and 800 max ISO for both dark and light conditions. For free running, i see the bright shots still bright and 0 noise in the dark. For me personally, i like to just keep it on these settings all the time
i am afraid to say that if you use the gopro as action camera , for example mountain biking , you cant use the settings you are talking about because the motion blair is anemy especially with low light condictions like forest, so i personally realized that in my gopro 7 faster shutter speed gives me better result
iso high to 1600 and exposure -1.5 forces automatically higher shutter speed
This was so helpful, making these adjustments improved my video quality significantly. Despite having balanced and diffused lighting my top down tutorial videos looked dim and the colors were drab. I have tried quite a few suggestions, but these actually worked! Many thanks!
This is an awesome video. Thanks for so much concise and useful information.
Iam so much amaze this action camera, because the camera is really clear the camera. thank you for sharing this video.
Excactly what I was looking for. Your tutorials are a treasure, I wish I have found them earlier!
yes
Thanks for the tips!
Omgggggggg Karl rock!!! Big fan
BEST VIDEO SETTINGS EVER !!! I've been having difficulties with my night settings lately and this one do the trick. Brilliant!
Perfect tutorial! I've been going to the settings aforementioned on my own. However, I am a High Frame Rate videographer, and I always shoot 120fps and sometimes 60fps. So Low light is not going to look the best on my GoPro.
However, I have found ways to edit my video at ISO 200 in Low Light and Night Time and still get decent enough qualities at 4k 120fps. It's of course not the best quality but works for me, especially for a GoPro.
Awesome video!
I’m literally in the airport now looking for solutions to this exact problem I’ve been having!!
Can’t wait to film now, thank you! 🎥
Interesting information about low light filming. Thanks!
Great video mate. I really enjoy your content. All the best
How would these suggestions lend to a low-light sport like dodgeball, where the camera is in a static position, but capturing fast moving subjects?
Hallo Werner! 😊 Top Video. Du erklärst alles so verständlich und gelassen. Ich konnte dir einfach folgen und die Einstellungen vornehmen. Mach weiter so! LG
Thank you! My video from last night turned out super grainy, so I'm hoping putting these settings on will help! I'm going to try this tonight well I ride my motorcycle.
Very very clean presenation and summary........ Thank you. Have a good one.......
I try these tips. Thank you for explaining it. I have to shoot most of my videos indoors so this will be very helpful,
First time viewer… thank you for the video, it has been the best one I have seen…
Wonderfully explained. Thanks a lot. Very useful and detailed information about the things I needed to know.
Thank you for your work. I like the calm explanation and it's so easy to follow and understand everything. New subscriber here.
Awesome. I now have success in low light videos! Thank you.
Waw 2 mins in and I already learned something new 👍❤️🔥
good video other people can learn. i learnt these through manual tries. i realized 24fps is better in low light, also i use low shutter 1/25, much better than raising iso and i use a gimbal. but in summary after several analysis, action cameras are just not meant for low light. people should buy a real camera, and save yourself the headache. as i did, especially if youre going to use a gimbal. even dji pocket is a better low light camera.
What min iso do you recommend for night drifting in the mountains head mount gopro (no light other than those from cars). From my first try gopro footage is terrible, my phone did better. But its hard to mount him on my head or something 😂
Thanks for this, I already just saved the settings on my gopro and taken notes just incase
This was very helpful. I just got my hero 11 and realized stabilizer did not work at all during lowlights
Your have such a great presenting style, easy to follow and great info. Thanks
Thanks
Maybe GoPro will improve the light issue the GP 13. With my GoPro Hero 10 Black I don't have an issue with the low light you speak of in the city or where there is artificial light. As one can see in my night rides in low or no light the issue is when I hit the trails or dark roads. When I review the videos often I see a lot of noise and the images are shaky on gravel roads using the HyperSmooth setting. Per your recommendation I will experiment with a lower FPS
Thank you so much for this informative video, i will try these, have not been using GoPro 10 for it’s bad shaky night videos
Just changed the settings! Hope this works better than the earlier settings! Thanks a lot
Hi, I have a GoPro Hero10. Do you recommend the optional light accessory for indoor filming, and the external mic that they sell?
First view from india sir🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for the guide... I hope go Pro 11 makes something low light friendly
No thanks
Brother i have issue on my GoPro Hero 8 black. ...green lines in display please tell me what should i do???....
Great. Thank you. Very helpful. I am shooting some B roll with my Gopro 11 at a dark jazz club with not so great indoor stage lighting. I month ago I shot and it had not much noise. Last week I was doing the same everything and it was very noisy. I am trying to figure out where I'm going wrong. I was shooting at 5.3 and I may have left the stabilization on.
Exactly what I’m getting the 11 for! Keep us updated on the videos after trying his tips!
@@Drummasterjay Hey Jay. I'm doing another jazz club shoot next Sun. I have been studying a bunch about low light with go pro and wrote down a bunch of new settings from some of my UA-cam instructors. Things like turning off the stabilizer when mounted on a wall or tripod. So I expect to do better on this next shoot. I'll let you know.
@@Drummasterjay LOL That's funny. I just reaslized you were the video I watched about low light. I'll let you know how I make out.
Thank you very much your sharing.
Nice video! I have both Gopro 10 and DJI Pocket 2 and the little Pocket is WAY better on low light. And Rode wireless Go for better audio. Even iphone 13 is not that good using the ultrawide mode.
Is that true dij pocket bsterry sucks ?
Nice trip
Please goprooo, give us a 1 inch sensor 10bit colour hero11. Great video btw
t=the new insta360 just released with a punch
@@GregTheNomad It's not really what I'm looking for. I want a major improvement in image quality from a hero 9 or a hero 10, the new insta360 is still a tiny sensor with 8bit colour and to my eye does not look much different to a hero 10. They're both great cameras, just for my use case I want the best image quality I can fly on a 5 inch fpv drone. For most people it's not a big deal though because if they want more image quality they can just run a bigger camera.
Best tutorail ever- Thank you!
dumb question, if there is alot of light, I would turn the shutter speed all the way up?
Great information! Thanks for sharing 👍
Really love your videos Werner.
Warm greetings from Sunny Cape Town South Africa
Thank you Wayne!
Nice helpful explanation 👍
Thanks so much for this video!
Hi, can I still use my gopro 10 battery after been accidentally soaked n laundry?
Excellent! Thank you
Thx for good tips.
24 shutter speed will be bad if I move with camera or if the filmed objects will move?
Very helpful as always.thank you.
What do you think about using GoPro labs to change the settings that are running behind the scenes? I’ve heard that changing some things in there can help with low light shots. Do you recommend GoPro labs or do you think that’s a bad idea? Also, would these settings work in an indoor mall or market, where light is not as low as night, but still relatively low?
Not really - I don't think the shot lab settings will help to improve the image quality significantly
Thanks for the tips.
If you do not want to use the flat color profile, how do you prevent the oversaturation of blue that the GoPro often does at low light?
thanks sir
Great to know! Thank you 👍
you know that gopro doesn't use noise reduction filter in 5k right? and in 4k it does. nothing to do with downsampling
very pro explanation
nice thank u
Awesome❤
you need to install the gopro labs firmware and use the Maximum Shutter Angle function.
Super useful. Thanks
mordeczko mi to nic nie zmieniło - dalej mega dużo ziarna i zakłóceń, a nie nagrywam w jakimś mega ciemnym otoczeniu, z iphone 11 wychodzi z 10 razy lepszy obraz jak z go pro 10
Aloha~ i am still trying to figure out what would be best setting for my gp9 and gp10 low light night shootings like night time parades or night/early morning drive video scenes ...so far i have tested/ tried many different settings but i guess low light/night scenes are not for gopros.the outcome is alwsy Too Dark or Too Noisy if its bright...i still do not know what is best setting yet?... i have decided not to spend anymore money with gopros i am searching other device to replace my GPS 9 and 10. *sad*
great information
I put my Hero 7 Black and my Hero 10 Black on a double mount , side by side ....
I took a walk at night with a flashlight being my only source of light .
Whereas the 7 struggles with these conditions the 10 doesn't .
The footage on the 7 , even with stabilization on, looks shaky .
Thank you for sharing..🙏
Hi, generaly good, but quality comparison between 5,3k and 4k in low light indikates, that 5,3k is better. This shows also your split image. Base on what do you have oposit impression?
Hi Jaro, you probably can't properly appreciate the difference because of UA-cam compression. Some of the image noise is lost due to the compression. On the computer, the comparison is clearly in favor of 4K.
Dear Mount Media. Please help me what is the best setup for Ski/Snowboarding in cloudy / snowing condition? Ive tried to lots of setup but every shots were awful. 😢 i have GoPro 8 and 10 also. In sunny condition it worked well. Thank You in advance. Br. Mátyás.
There is no real solution to this. The contrast is simply missing. The only thing I can recommend is not to shoot with the flat color profile. Maybe the best is to use the Vibrant color profile.
Thanx! Hero Black doesn't mean Black Magic)
Great video.
More Go Pro Tutorials please!! :D #howtoshoot ___ with GoPro
Dud I am facing video size. When I make a video length of 8 mints my go pro take 4gb space?
Set the bitrate to standard - not much of a difference, but much smaller files
iso in gopro??? :D What is this? DSLR camera?? How this toy perform on the auto ISO when you're in downtown big City at night??
I wish you could turn off the noise reduction, Grainy can look okay for grungey FPV car stuff that I want to do, but the smooth over noise reduced look in low light isn't great for me.
Best guide video....
this is Meran in South Tyrol / Italy :)
das ist Meran in Südtirol / Italien :)
Ja, genau! :)
What was the RGB light you have? I’m happy to buy from a link that helps you since your videos help me!
Thanks mate. I put a link in the video description
Loved this video!
Is that Salzburg? :)
No, Merano - Italy
thank you!!!
Interesting information 👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍
finaly!
When using a Hero 12, is 4K better than 5.3K for low light conditions?
Yes
@@MountMediaChannelthank u
Yessir
Great video do you have a quick summary, I don't understand very good English 🙂
would 2.7k or 1080p be better than 4k in low light?
No
Still missing some advice for action in low light (not slow motion, but at list smooth 60 fps).
hi bro. i've got the 11. i'm going to try filming surfing POV at night. i have a scuba diving headlamp, and another light with the camera with different lights, i think for underwater, but i won't be. i was going to go for high fps, so this has been an eye opener. i will obviously have to mess around. any ideas where i should start? i think i should have a lot of light, but not much colour. for action sports like my channel, it's all about fps. i don't require much stabalisation, but if you have the time you can check out what i usually film, the plan is to do the exact same at night, hopefully with the option of slomo so some fps. i just started using 4k, but have backed down to 2.7, 240fps, 100-400, medium sharpness, -05ev high bit rate. i mean i think the majority of the shot will be 1-2 metres away, shot straight at with 2 bright torches, but everything else black. thanks for the vid anyway i've learnt a lot more already
Hi, are you from Byron Bay - great place! I've been there many years ago. Slow Motion and Low Light do not combine well. The more frames per second, the shorter the exposure time. I would also shoot in low light in 4K. Fix the shutter to at least twice the frame rate, otherwise the video will look terrible, even if you don't need great stabilization.
@@MountMediaChannel i'm going to have a lot of light i think. haven't got everything yet
What would you suggest for settings while walking through a Halloween Haunted House with strobe lights in use? Great video by the way! Thank you.
exactly the settings suggested in this video - pay attention at the white balance - perhaps fix it
@@MountMediaChannel Thank you for the reply and information!
Good gopro💞🥰🥰

Hi Bro, unable to update the March firmware, at 24% its getting failed and asking to try again later? Any insights????
Try to update manually - download the file and copy it to the sd-card
Hey bro, Would you recommend Gopro 10 or DJI OSMO pocket 2
Hi, can't really help you since I never tried the Osmo pocket 2
Jak zwykle bardzo dobrze zrobiony poradnik.
Can these be used in hero 9
Yes
The hero 6 has better low light capabilities than the 10... i kno cuz I have both
What city is that? Very beautiful!
Merano, Italy
