I think Kailyn developed schizophrenia. It would explain the 911 calls that were false alarms and the fact she was talking to no one and then she got scared and ran away. Schizophrenia can happen to anyone at any age, and it causes hallucinations that are usually really scary.

I'm upset at her mother for seemingly brushing it all off. Who knows, maybe Kailyn lied to her mother and downplayed it, so her mother didn't actually know the details. But if my kid described anything remotely like what Kailyn actually experienced and did over those 911 calls, I'd be headed over there so fast. Suspecting psychosis of some kind, even a brain tumor. But in any case absolutely an emergency situation.
I think they may have let her down (the other people around her as well) and that's why they're trying to cling to the idea that what happened has someone else to blame.

@@zikorhamonroe3340 see I don’t like gangs either but your getting the wrong idea, the gangs are not the complete problem, you have to understand the whole reason gangs are created is because of the fact the they are often in poverty, and have families that they need to feed, and because some are undocumented or have records or arnt as good as other candidates or have other issues so they can’t get a good job so at that point they can only rely on people like them thus creating gangs, you can’t solve things with violence because hate will always bring more hate, if you wanna solve a issue like this you have to start with the people because if I have a 3 year old and I couldn’t get my job because of my past or because I was undocumented, then I would do something to make my family money which often times leads to joining gangs because they make money off it

The F up thing about Junior's killing was that the actual guy the gang members were after was the boyfriend of a gang member's sister which the boyfriend looked very similar to Junior. The sister knew Junior as a friend of sort and since Junior looked like her boyfriend she told the gang they'll find Junior around his apartment area so her boyfriend could escape the gang's persecution for causing problems with gang member's sister.

I reckon Kaylin had some form of stroke, she could easily have had a bleed on the brain that took a long time to actually kill her, it would explain the psychosis and her death before she drowned, if she was running and suddenly died from blood loss or loss of motor control (i.e the ability to breathe or her heart beat) it would make the most sense, any blood clot or build up would be broken down over the ten weeks, explaining her unknown cause of death

Brain bleeds don’t really work that way. A chronic subdural hematoma might not present for a few weeks, but subdurals are more common in the elderly and they don’t usually present with her clinical picture. Her picture is much more consistent with a psychotic disorder like schizophrenia.
Edit: as for the cause of death, it probably wasn’t directly related to the psychosis other than her delusions may have caused her to do something that killed her or she may have had an underlying condition that was exacerbated by her psychosis.

I remember being on a train and there was a woman screaming for help as a guy attacked and no one was paying attention to her. I moved my way over and more people were trying to stop me from getting involved than helping that woman. I broke through and got into a fight with the guy, which ended up with me drawing my gun on him and holding him at gunpoint till the police arrived... and I got put in jail for a week for trying to stop a rape.

Hey Mr. Ballen! I love your videos and your storytelling, it's so nicely formed and unbiased, which is really refreshing. Your edits are seamless as well. If you were looking for some content, there is a story that I haven't seen much coverage for myself about events that took place on Christmas Eve in 2012 in Webster, NY. There was a man who intentionally lit a house on fire and used that as a distraction to shoot at the firemen who arrived on scene. 2 of them were killed, one of them being a classmate of mine. Not really creepy, but it's a sad story for the small town. It actually happened right down the road from me.

As a behavioral health provider, I agree. It kills me (as I'm sure first responders can also attest to) because if they're not able/willing to accept help we can't even really do anything to intervene at all until it's almost too late (until it's abundantly clear that they can't keep themselves or other people safe).

It’s called the Bystander Effect. It’s the idea that if someone is attacking you in public, the more people there are, the less likely you will get help or someone will call the police because everyone assumes that someone else will do it. This story could’ve been an example of that. So please just be the one to call the police or help the person in need instead of assuming someone else will do it like everyone else.
