Part 1 of a drum solo performed in Frankfurt, Germany at Musikmesse 2008. www.bobbyjarzombek.com/ / bobbyjarzombekofficial www.myspace.com/bobbyjarzombek / bjarzombek
Wow, I am surprised that people didn't go apeshit after that part with the cymbal mutes. I have noever seen anything like that before in a solo; it was fantastic. He and his brother are completely amazing musicians. Texas represent.
@nightmaressea i had a good laugh at that comment too. he's also significantly older than kolias and probably was an inspiration to him. I mean, which drummer wasn't in awe of Spastik Inc.?
you should check out his brother on guitar. I can only imagine what growing up in that house was like. Damn musical Im sure. He's actually playing MUSIC on the drums, which is cool as hell.
@MarkHarrellJr Yeah I think the rudiment is called Pantera...I could be wrong. I agree Haake is great, but Jarzombek is a BEAST! Lol I just found out about Spastic Ink a couple of months ago. The polyrhythms this guy can play are insane.
Yup. Especially Lars. How can anyone on this planet think he's even decent? I've seen some live work lately, and I'm in shock. On no occasion did he play for 8 consecutive seconds without some sort of mistake. Wake up, people. Record sales doesn't say much about every musician on an album.
In the mechanical aspect. No one could defeat Bobby except Tomas Haake. But Bobby adds a dynamics which makes it feel more organic. Proud to know such a hybrid of human and machine.
Sick!Bobby I still have your hand written Spastic Ink transcriptions, but I gave up the idea to even TRY to play anything from them,I get dizzy just by looking at them!
he crafted brilliant grooves throughout much of the video, or did you just stare slack jawed and were unable to comprehend? someone with this kind of skill has obviously been able to craft brilliant grooves long ago, and has since gone with the more difficult thing for him to do, improve is ambidextrousity and technique. maybe look into his stuff with fates warning, or rob halford, or sebastion bach, riot, for grooves and stuff like spastic ink for incredible technicality.
All you "haters", out there- try jumping in front of a group of people, probably right after breakfast, half awake, unexpectedly, sit down behind a strange drum set, and play for 15 minutes.. it ain't easy!!
I don't know.. is he a greatest rock drummer so far? he's like having a limitless independent moves.. I can't compare him with the other genres (such as jazz, samba, etc) of drummer, but he's on top of my list of greatest drummer i've ever seen.. even i got more faithful to bobby than virgil donati even though he's a superb drummer too.
@alexkills4fun Yeah, but duuuuuuude....he soooo innovated on it and took it to another level. Technically, it's a rudimentary pattern for practicing, not just a Meshuggah groove, though now it is indeed that. And no, I ain't hatin' on Haake, he's pretty bad.
@vstrato No kidding! He deserves to be an actual member in a band rather than always being a backup drummer. I mean Sebastian Bach??? Are you kidding me?? Dream Theater would be the ideal gig for him.
So he's a drum-marathoner and has quad-coordination, fantastic, but I can't help but wonder: can he craft a brilliant groove. Technical ability and creativity are, after all, two different entities.
can you play it? Bobby plays with: Juggernaut, Spastic Ink., Halford, Bach, Fates Warning, Demons & Wizards, Zierler, Painmuseum, Riot, ......, each of these bands play different styles from Hard Rock (Bach) to etreme Progressive (Spastic Ink.) and he masters everything. Wanna watch him play a more free Jazz orientated track? then watch out for 'So it ain't'. He literally can play anything. ;)
This is not the right video to judge Bobby from. Like many other drummers he doesn't really know what to do in a solo. Like Simon Phillips - when he gets a slot for a drum solo all alone, he ends up doing some of the most boring belly button gazing crap. But give him a full steam rock fusion train to embellish on, and it's insane. Likewise with Bobby. Go listen to "Aquanet" and "Multi Masking" off "Ink Compatible" (and maybe listen a few times or 100 to fully get it). Then come back.
Maybe you once look up with whom he all plays, then you might realize: that he's unlimited in capabilities and your question is dumb. But you only succeed in that if you really try to learn a bit more than you actually know, or think you know. But to answer your question, yes, he is.
Rule #1: A Jarzombek does nothing for no reason, neither Bobby or his 2 brothers. They're all absolute music geniuses and know exactly what they do. ua-cam.com/video/0nqRa4BiEEA/v-deo.html at 1:32 how to efficient use the rear cymbals.
@@Tjarven Nobody ever said it has to be comfy, at least for us. He can do it, also at very high speed, he even mutes the back cymbals with his hands as well. And all these things he can and others can't put him in a league of his own. did you ever watch 'School' or his stick twirl video? if not, I would say, go to school first with Bobby as tutor. It's a joy, trust me.
@@Signofevil_Smile4theCam Think what you think but that is so stupid. He just makes fool of him self for drum community. Thats my thoughts and every else to accept you. Sure he can play like master but he not need a kungfu teacher to put cymbals, or drums behind him. Comon sense btw :D

We want more videos.Awesome drummer. He should to be more popular in the drum world
I've been watching him a lot, for years. He's so damn incredible, I need a forklift to get my jaw off the floor.
Agreed!
Literally my favorite drummer since Ian Paice! 💯❤
Legendary drummer.
Please, don't talk about creativity ... I can hardly imagine a more creative drummer!
Awesome, absolute brilliance, I'll love to hear that live!!!

Circus drumming madness

SICK!
@38decembers Well said! This dude is a machine, I can hardly hear it all.
i have been living under a rock
best drummer ever... and yes he can get shit groovin too, just listen to some spastic ink albums
from 4:30 on this sounds very similar to the bass drum line in "bleed " from meshuggah xD
HAIL JARZOMBEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very.. very smart 👍👍👍😍😍😍
It's because not too many people are really all that passionate about music.
@Duiss amen to that last statement
@Bartelliballz Yes he plays in Halford and Spastic Ink
NUMERO UNO
@MarkHarrellJr Yeah I think the rudiment is called Pantera...I could be wrong. I agree Haake is great, but Jarzombek is a BEAST! Lol I just found out about Spastic Ink a couple of months ago. The polyrhythms this guy can play are insane.
i felt that he pulled out some great grooves
Yup. Especially Lars. How can anyone on this planet think he's even decent? I've seen some live work lately, and I'm in shock. On no occasion did he play for 8 consecutive seconds without some sort of mistake. Wake up, people. Record sales doesn't say much about every musician on an album.

haha you're not the only one, by randomly looking around based on my real name I came to this guy and I was like, WOW that's some drummer :-P
Sick!Bobby I still have your hand written Spastic Ink transcriptions, but I gave up the idea to even TRY to play anything from them,I get dizzy just by looking at them!
The Jarzombekians are a truly ASTONISHING alien race! Im convinced they are not human -_- lol
@ 4:29 secs thats the kick drum pattern from Meshuggah's song "Bleed."
insane
@sparkles67 yep same question for me...weird stuff..
that was an insane intro
07:39 looks like a special move in mortal kombat. Awsome !
Just like none of those lists ever mention:
Akira Jimbo
Gergo Borlai
OR
Marco Minneman
I guess he could play 5/4, 11/4, 7/8 even by his balls :) Brilliant drummer.
Wow, this dude is almost s good as me😉
As he was building his groove in the beginning, it reminded me of someone making a groove in FL Studio XD
@outlaw6066 Sooooooo true... Why wasn't he at the auditions ?!??
he crafted brilliant grooves throughout much of the video, or did you just stare slack jawed and were unable to comprehend? someone with this kind of skill has obviously been able to craft brilliant grooves long ago, and has since gone with the more difficult thing for him to do, improve is ambidextrousity and technique. maybe look into his stuff with fates warning, or rob halford, or sebastion bach, riot, for grooves and stuff like spastic ink for incredible technicality.
holy
Research Akira Jimbo and how he pioneered the drums as a solo instrument.... He's got some cool vids on this here youtube
holy chewbaka nuts !
the cymbal grabbing part is cool
Cymbal juggles lmao
@ImmanPoblete it should be Why is Bobby Jarzombek in a band called rob zombie?
All you "haters", out there- try jumping in front of a group of people, probably right after breakfast, half awake, unexpectedly, sit down behind a strange drum set, and play for 15 minutes.. it ain't easy!!
@Steve128967 how do you know?
@Tellalca he plays left handed on a right handed set. just like myself
@godak Next Drummer for Dream Theater!!!!!
who do you think is?
I don't know.. is he a greatest rock drummer so far? he's like having a limitless independent moves..

epic beat 3:58
The one guy that disliked probably left a comment like 8 pages ago saying: "But where's the groove?!" God that comment is overused.
hahahhaahahahahahahahahhaah Sebastian has to be paying this guy a ton of money........including a GODDAMN retainer when off the road
He shall be known as Percussive Jesus...
@vstrato They actually asked him to do so, but he declined the offer.

David Townsend should work with Bobby.
Что я тут забыл?
1 guy is pissed he'll never be anywhere near as amazing

@notonline97 i'm sorry your highness
@85Aheadstix hahaha there is no comparison between them.
I think Bobby is actually a more complete drummer
in speed, mmmm yes. In technical/groove/versatility? GK has NO chance man, no chance in hell that is.
Dream Theater is really missing out on this guy!
Fates Warning has him and it's meant to be.
you should be the next dream theater's drummer !!!!
@MRCJCOLLINS Thats cause hes not
This is a demostration of a hard spanking drummer and his limits at creating drum grooves, anyway, he is a cyborg
Cybernetic organism; living tissue over metal endoskeleton
u have Polish name Jarząbek xp
@85Aheadstix with speed, surely not with creativity...than the wipe is from bobby ;-)
So he's a drum-marathoner and has quad-coordination, fantastic, but I can't help but wonder: can he craft a brilliant groove. Technical ability and creativity are, after all, two different entities.
well, but can you play smells like teen spirit?

This guy is not left handed. Just know that and watch again :D
@rawbeanshakya You obviously don't know much about drummers, and not that this is the best either...
Ohhhh my fucking god !!!!! (And i'm an atheist)
This guy is good but can he play Back in Black by AC/DC?

@godak there's no way he is. either that or he sold his soul or something.
This guy is nuts that have cymbals for no reason behind him.
