    I don't believe it has to taste good. People are obsessed with pleasant tasting medicine/food. When you're trying to reverse disease you shouldn't be thinking alt how nice it has to taste.

    I started eating Amla lately,it is so sour and I ate it with vinegar or salt. I use to have pimples during and after periods but lately I notice it lessens my acne during and after period. I never thought about the good benefits of Amla ,on that day when I saw it at the supermarket I just want to eat sour fruit and I asked one Indian lady beside me if it’s good and I bought it and I liked it.

    You know the compounds that make Amla taste so sour and bitter are the ones that provide a lot of antioxidants too. Amla in Ayurveda is said to possess 4 of all 5 tastes - bitter, sweet, sour, and Kashaya (astringent). Such a food is said to nourish all "datus" and "stotras" while balancing all the doshas according to your constitution and cleansing the body effectively of "ama" - the accumulation of which is one of the main reasons we get diseases (along with an imbalance of doshas.)
    Charaka himself mentions in his treatise on Ayurveda that Amla is the best of all Anti-Aging treatments. He may not have known about anti-oxidants the way we know now, but in whatever way he had evaluated the properties of Amla, am sure it would have been holistic and not processed, lacking anti-oxidants.

    Im a full believer that most people should consume a little amla daily. Its so cheap and clearly has a good safety profile.
    The comparison with simvastatin is not very good.
    Simvastatin is a weak statin we'd only use in people not tolerating higher intensity statins. This really ahould be mentioned in the video.
    Doctors only recommend statin medications when they feel the benefits outweight the risks. We are right to question it. But 99.9% of people with diabetes are not following a whole food plant based diet and the cardiovascular benefit of statins clearly outweighs the risk for them.
    Statins reduce the risk of strokes, heart attacks, and the need for stents and bypasses.

    Amla has the following tastes: sour, astringent, bitter, sweet, and pungent. Only taste it doesn’t encompass is salty..

    Alright folks. I bought Amla Green. Let me take apart this product for you. No, I'm not a competitor. I'm someone who spent a bleepload on this product in an effort to reduce blood sugar. Is it somehow more special than other kinds? You be the judge. Here are the claims: it tastes better. I believe that. It's freeze-dried for better preservation. That's absolutely true. Freeze-drying preserves nutrients better than anything. A 1 g serving has 4 g of Amla. Yes, that's probably also true. Because before it's freeze dried, it's got water in it. So, once all that water is taken out, they can add all those spices to it and still get to a 1 g serving. Is it special? No. It's not. The reason it "tastes better" is because it's such a tiny dose. 4g is going to be about 1/2 of an Amla berry per serving. That's probably why Cyrus always hedges this answer with "1/4 of a berry is effective." If you can find any other freeze-dried organic Amla berry, you could mix it with some spices in the chai family and you'll get the same thing... the key to the great taste...the tiny amount. Oh, yes, I'm sure their supplier is extra special. Maybe he sings arias to the berries at night. It's possible. But do understand that for the price, you're paying for the equivalent of about 15 berries. These things are like the size of small grapes. . Look I know darn well that the cost of doing business is much greater than the cost of the product itself. But even given that, this is price-gouging, in my opinion.

    Hi. Excellent videos and analysis. Question. No doubt a large amount of plants in our diet is very very good. But how much harm if any would happen if I added 1 red meat steak, 1 chicken meal and 1 fish steak per week?.. in addition to the vegetables. So 3 animal protein meals per week.

    • @slyowusu99
      @slyowusu99 5 років тому

      What qualifies as a high protein diet? Once or twice a week? 100 -200 grams?

      slyowusu99 you are also what your food consumes. That goes with the soils to some degree too with plants, and fungi. What we ingest is our soil.
