After quite a long time on carnivore, I still had issues that had not cleared up. After switching to 80% fat, 20% protein, almost everything has been improving. One of the clear advantages is cost savings. I was eating 3.5 lbs of expensive meat each day. Now, I'm eating about a 1 lb of meat each day with another 5-6 oz of fat added. The fat is just beef trimmings from my butcher - he charges 85 cents/lb for it. So, I'm eating only a third of what I was and part of that is at 85 cents/lb vs $8-10/lb. I am also satisfied for longer and cravings have vanished. While I was on carnivore, it was always a fight with temptation when I was around other traditional foods at family gatherings. Now, it's easy as can be to avoid those. I was about 60% fat while on carnivore. All this changed by dropping dairy and upping fat to 80% and it happened almost overnight. I am rapidly becoming a firm believer in this diet.
How are you doing now after about 5 months ? I am curious, because I am about to start this diet, waiting for the appointment from Zsofia Clemens / Paleomedicina
Keto has been shown to be risky in numerous studies, especially without doctor supervision. The *Agoge diet* was the only diet that helped me lose that stubborn fat without abuseing my body.
@@billyreyes3439 'keto' can be accomplished a thousand different ways. I'm certain some of those are very harmful. Heck, some studies have people eating seed oils and flour made from nuts and other non-food items. That will probably kill anyone on it long-term. Meat and animal fat is completely safe - what we've evolved eating the past couple million years.
@@johnsysays i was on pkd for approximately 5-6months, under the supervision of paleomedicina. It helped a lot with testosterone but it didn’t help with thyroid issues (i nnow take metavive- desiccated porcine thyroid and it helps). Pkd didn’t help much with with sleep issues. One problem I had was loss of muscle mass. I got thin, soft and weak while still carrying quite a lot of fat. Overall, would i do it again? Probably yes. Would i recommend it to anyone? Yes. It might not work for everyone but one should try to see… and yes, it is not easy to be on pkd and in deep ketosis, i had to very very careful with how much protein i ate and it makes socializing very difficult
The typical ketogenic diet allows for up to 25% cals from carbs, irrespective of the source. This includes nuts and seeds and vegetables and even supplements. All of those things lead to the development of a leaky gut. As you may know, one portion of the gut has an impermeable lining and these types of food destroy that lining thus making it permeable. This allows toxins to pass into the blood stream which, in turn, damages other semi- and non-permeable barriers, including the blood brain barrier (non-permeable) or placenta (semi-permeable). This is what causes the inflammation that causes disease, both physical and mental. As for dairy, it is the lactose and the casein that are the major problems. Lactose, the sugar, and casein, the protein, are not digestible by humans. It is this reason that dairy also contributes to leaky gut syndrome. Some scientists argue that it is only milk that gives rise to this because in cheese making and other fermentation processes, most of the lactose is consumed and the protein becomes bent. Others say even that is bad for the gut. There really isn't a clear consensus on most of this, but that is his rationale.
Lots of misinformation here. The typical ketogenic diet does not allow 25% carbs. Totally false. It's generally limited to 20-25 carbs a day, typically ~5%. Also important to note the Dr. Toth and his fellow clinicians are now using a strictly carnivore diet of ~ 80% fat content for treatment. Keto is out, paleo is out, carnivore is in, based on their accumulated clinical knowledge to date.
Listen to her podcast with Dr. Sean Baker. She specifically says that she's talking about a meat and fat only diet and that other keto/paleo versions of diets can be used and that it's the patient's decisions which way to go. Their clinical experience led them in this direction and that is the diet that gives them the best results. She quite clearly says that in all cases, regardless of condition or disease, the _optimal_ choice is animal meat + animal fat at a ratio of 2g fat/1g protein. Anything other than animal meat + animal fat can negatively affect gut permeability. Eating too much protein can lead to other issues hence the very high fat ratio. I suspect there are some translation issues from Hungarian >> English but she spells it out in detail. Sean asks her probing questions as does Zach Bitter and each time she goes back to the same meat/fat diet and the same ratio as optimal.
@michael Thanks for the answers guys, very illuminating! So how do one go about getting so much fat from just meat, what kind of meat should i eat? I have tried to research this on my own but i find the information is difficult to get to
At this point i am still in shocked with the negative result i got after suffering from type 2 Diabetes for so long. Thanks once again Dr. Igudia on you tube for your medication.
When they say "Paleo Diet" it's the Paleo diet. When they say "Keto Diet" they mean keto diet. When they say "Carnivore Diet" they mean carnivore diet.......you can use a thingy called "Google" and learn stuff like that.....
now negative from Type 2 diabetes after did a Test , it was like a miracle , i really can't thank you enough Dr Igudia , You cured me naturally after I came across your channel on UA-cam , with your herbs , May God bless you Handsomely

God bless now and always Dr Igudia. And I really wanted to say a very big thanks for helping me cure my type 2 diabetes I thought it was the end until I meant you keep saving lives doctor.
The way Dr ODIGIE on UA-cam is treating Diabetes with his herbal medication is far beyond man's expectation his care and concern about your health is what amaze me.
My persistent belly fat is so stubborn that I tried the ketogenic diet, saw some results but felt terrible. The Agoge diet on the other hand I saw the same results but felt great.
Keto should not be followed by healthy people, and there must be medical supervision. If you want to lose fat or cellulite then definitely try the Agoge diet, it worked wonders for me...

Very interesting, what exactly in the ketogenic diet is NOT healthy though? He mentions dairy, but why is it bad?

@@milabulic Thank you for that very informative answer! Would some of the issues, apart from the protein, be lessened by non lactose dairy?
