Great meeting you too mate and huge well done! I’ve not tried it on yet! Chucked it in a cupboard believe it or not! Might wear it for London though so everyone knows I’m a marathon runner too!
Haha, it’s honestly not intentional. I should learn to plan much better but time and time again, I find myself on the start line thinking, ‘well I guess we’ll just see what happens this time!’
Superb effort and you captured the event very well. I appreciated the ‘gin and tonic’ catchphrase and I think a few people on the water stations did too - that’s a wrap…
@@AlPepperRuns it’s not put me off running another marathon. Really want to do London so we will wait and see if we are successful in the next ballot 🤞
@@AlPepperRuns Honestly i've done 15-17 hour 50 plus mile ultras and I just think a road marathon looks so daunting and terrifying. One day though, you've 100% planted the seed!
Well done! It's a huge achievement, isn't it? (I was in yellow wave - glad that it was a cool day. Beat my target time of 3:45 but ended with a grim case of runner's nips!)
Sub 3:45?! That’s incredible mate! Sorry to hear about the nips though! I was worried at half way and on the look out for some vas but somehow, I came away relatively unscathed!
This was good information for me. With the water stations etc. Looking at this you would be fine with a few gels and water at the water stations. Im doing the AJ Bell half marathon. My goal is a full one after that.
Wanted sub 4, hit the wall really hard at mile 24 and got 04:00:49! I’ll take it though! I had a really good weekend, it was my first ever marathon and it definitely won’t be my last.
Amazing job Al, you should definitely be proud of yourself!!! I'm doing the London Marathon this weekend so will keep an eye out for you and Lorna (best of luck to her!). Are you planning on dropping by any parkruns for a shake out run on Saturday?
Get in Marek! Good luck! I’m not unfortunately, I can’t make it work with train times. I’ll be filming the marathon from a support / spectator perspective though which should be fun!
@AlPepperRuns No, it's Gateshead/Newcastle at the start of May. Hopefully I can drag myself over the finish line. Amazing run from you, considering you very rarely train for your races
@@AlPepperRuns I am looking forward to seeing what's to come. I also look forward to trying to use the mindset that you had in this video when I run my first half marathon in a couple of weeks
Congrats brother, you smashed it! Glad I was there to support and be part of the team on the day.
Hopefully the next one we’ll do together!
I’m even more grateful for the support! Thank you! Had a brilliant weekend - bring on the half later in the year and whatever we do in between!
Congratulations on your first marathon mate! And fair play for the constant positive vibes!
Thanks Jamie! Appreciate it!
Smashed it Al, love the positive vibe you bring to each video!
Thanks Rick! Appreciate it!
Brilliant run Al! A Marathon is an incredible milestone distance to run and memory to make. Epic 🏅👏👏👏👏
Thanks Dean! Certainly a memory I’ll cherish for a good while!
Well done Al, yes!! Be proud of yourself!! You just finished Manchester Marathon!!! Smashed it 🎉🎉
Thanks Jo! I am pretty proud of this one! Marathon club now!
Well done on finishing without being hit by the hamstring sniper! Your video reminded me that I haven’t eaten a jelly baby in months…
Haha, happy to have helped! The only downside is the dust can get sticky with sweat! Too sweet though!
Great video Al and even better to meet you at the end of what is a great achievement! Hope the T-shirt fits perfectly 🏃♂️🏃♂️

@@AlPepperRuns you certainly are a marathon and ultra marathon runner mate👊🏻
Great effort. All those miles paying off.
Thanks mate! I was concerned I hadn’t trained anywhere near enough but it turned out okay on the day!
Well done. I love how you just eat and drink everything in sight as you're going round ❤😂

Thanks David! Appreciate it. What’s next for you run wise? Got anything booked in?
@@AlPepperRuns just Blaydon at the minute. Will book the GN10K and possibly the Durham 10K. Good luck to Lorna tomorrow 🤜🤛
Superb effort and you captured the event very well. I appreciated the ‘gin and tonic’ catchphrase and I think a few people on the water stations did too - that’s a wrap…
I seemed to get a progressively better response as the stations went on! It’s a slow burner but we got there in the end! Thanks mate.
Well done Al, did this in 2022 and it was a tough experience for me 🤘🏅
Well done for 2022 Darren! I’m surprised how steady away I was for this one. Seemed easier than most of the half’s I’ve ran recently which was odd!
you did amazing! you don't even look that shattered and its a really good time for the first one ... I kept looking out for that man of mine lol
Thank you! Yeah, me too but our paths didn’t cross unfortunately! Probably because he absolutely smashed it!
Fantastic job. Brought back memories of when I ran it last year.
Thanks Al! Did you feel like you missed out this time around or was last year enough?!

Great video Al you still managed to chat even when you were suffering.well done mate.
Thanks Paul! I think I might have actually prioritised running over chatting this time around, what’s got into me?!
Well done mate, great video. Almost made me want to do a road marathon

Well done pal. Excellent 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks Kris! Marathon club member now!
Well done Al! Hero!👍🇨🇦
Haha, thanks mate! Not sure about hero but I’m definitely now part of… the marathon club!
Well done! I made the video just after the jelly bean incident! 😂 I thought it was you as I passed!
Haha, and what an incident it was! I’d have gone sub-3 if I’d eaten that. How did you get on?!

Awesome job, Pepper!
Thanks Mack! I’ll check out your video to see if you managed your goal! Well done mate!
