Is this the BEST BEACH IN BRITAIN? The Wild Deer Drudge Bay 10K! - Al Pepper Runs
Okay... so I admit that the best of anything is quite subjective but my goodness is the Northumberland coast beautiful! Stunning scenery, the majesty of the great North Sea and... nowhere near as many tourists as more well-visited areas!
All this made for a wonderful backdrop to last weekend's Wild Deer Events Druridge Bay 10k (half marathon and canicross events also available!)
Join me as I jog, jump and chat may round a rather chilly but rather brilliant coastal trail 10k!
ENJOY!

Half you heard of this CULT CLASSIC half marathon?! The BRASS MONKEY! - Al Pepper Runs
Переглядів 2,2 тис.День тому
Last weekend's double feature concluded with the York Knavesmire Harriers Brass Monkey Half Marathon on Sunday! Now the Brass Monkey is somewhat of a nemesis of mine. It's a fast and flat course which offers massive PB potential but for me, I find the relatively straight out and back route to be tough psychologically. Historically, I've struggled - usually from the half way point - but was this...

January is a surprisingly stacked month when it comes to running events and last weekend offered double the fun with the @RunThroughTV Newcastle 10k on Saturday followed by the York Knavesmire Harriers Brass Monkey Half Marathon on Sunday! The weather may have been cold but the atmosphere was toasty warm on the quayside on Saturday morning and whilst the course was a simple enough two-lap out a...
We found the ONLY parkrun left in Greater Manchester... HEATON PARKRUN! - Al Pepper Runs

Last weekend, Lorna and I headed over to Manchester to watch Peter Kay at the AO Arena! We were kindly hosted by Jamesy Squidge and took the opportunity to do a bit of Parkrun tourism whilst we were there... The only problem was a week of constant snow and sub-zero temperatures meant that, as with the rest of the UK, nearly all parkruns were cancelled! After a lot of research and crossed finger...

Happy New Year my little peppers! My first race of 2025 was the brilliant North Shields Poly - North Tyneside Trail 10K! A wonderfully mixed terrain trail run taking in the beach, cliff tops, coastal towns, verdant denes and wagon ways! Sounds lovely right? Well yes... apart from having to brave a snowstorm to get to the coast and then wind and rain during the race itself! It wouldn't be trail ...

How do you finish your racing calendar for 2024?! With a double header of course! After a Saturday with Saltwell Harriers, Sunday saw me visit the wonderful Chopwell Woods for the Wild Deer Events Festive Run! How do you finish your racing calendar for 2024?! With a double header of course! Things kicked off on Saturday with the UK's oldest road race - the Ronnie Walker Saltwell 10K - before I headed over to the Wild Deer Events Festive Runs at Chopwell Woods (next week's video) on Sunday! This was surprisingly tough, a 3.5 lapped race around Saltwell Park with a lot of elevation to conquer. The bril...

What was meant to be the No Club Running Club 'takeover' of Newcastle Town Moor parkrun was slightly hampered by the fact that.... the parkrun was cancelled! Good one, Al. And as much as I hate beach running, at least that one was hard-packed and didn't look too bad. Certainly the gorgeous scenery on the rest of the run made up for the bit of beach. Oh, and one thing. I know you had to wait a long while for Wayne, but I really don't think you should have spent it digging all those holes in the bank of the lake, mate...
@@neilcam haha, I had nothing else to do whilst I was waiting! You’re right, the sand was packed, wind pretty low and the scenery beautiful so it was all good!
